Hello, I've been making maps for a couple of years now and i have gotten this constant error that says: "An Error Occured While Trying To Create The Game" and the .bak file says "this file is invaild or corrupted". I did not edit a protected map, i've made this map from scratch. Maybe something misplaced or not done, but im not sure. I hope I didn't screw up, I put 3 hours into just making the layout of this map and i wanted to test it. I put all start locations for all active participants, but still not helping. So any suggestions or anything else would be highly appreicated!
,
Thanks.

i'm sorry to say, the map you are creating is corrupted because you are always opening and editing the map .etc or while you are creating the map it takes 5 hours or 1000000000000000000 hours or maybe you have a virus that corrupted files or theres a starcraft virus.

StarCraft virus ? anyway Oo
I noticed that sometimes SE Xtra or SCM Draft 2 won't open SOME maps that have weirdly placed units, but StarForge can... so what I mean is, try all editors. I can't really think of anything other than this reason. This is what happened to me once when someone asked me to open a weird map :P

Yes, StarForge isn't the first choice to use. It allows too much freedom in everything for someone that doesn't know what they are doing. And it saves it as a .bak file and a .scm(scx on expansion) file. Thus if you don't have the two in the same folder they won't work properly. Star Forge is only useful in conjunction with other editors. If you do make a map entirely with Star Forge 9 times out of 10 it probably won't work. I recommend using SCM Draft 2.

Well, if it is not the editor, just make sure the filename isn't too long.

Hmm, i fixed the file name along time ago and made sure it wasn't too long, and thanks for the suggestions, i'll try SCM Draft 2.
LAST EDIT: Wow, it said for me to remove my units i had on the map, it worked! So I didn't loose my layout just my units, but i had a ltitle bit of units. Oh and it was also because there were buildings on the ice terrain, so im making most of the terrain where buildings are being built on, now dirt terrain.

Yes, starforge has a tendency to place units slightly off of what they are supposed to be. That is why you use it with other editors if your going to use it at all. You can put buildings on whatever you want with SCM Draft 2. You just have to put the settings different. oh and make sure you don't use sprites.

Glad to see you didn't lose everything.
Everyone beat me to saying use SCMD.
SCMD and SCXE are the best editor combo imho.
