I'm trying to put music on my map like they have on run zergling run. no see i have the wav file and when i play the map, so does the song. but here's the problem. when it plays so does the sc music. the only way i can fix this is turning off the music under options. is there another way i can do this?(i've tried play wav and transmission triggers)

No... usually such maps instruct users to disable music.
The only way is by using SCM Loader (in theory), but you can't force people to install it... asking people to do CTRL + M to turn music off is way more reasonable.

Can't you just use the play wav trigger and loop it?

Done.

So.....
Can't you just use the play wav trigger and loop it?

I don't understand the problem. Turning music volume off doesn't affect wav voulme. Doesn't everyone play with the music volume off?

That won't do, sorry. Many people do play with the game music on.
Ctrl + M only disables the game music. And since the background tune he's setting is through triggers than it'll work. As already stated above, he just needs a tip/advice at map beggining for the players telling'em to turn off the (regular) game music. ;)

Playing with starcraft music on is about as uncommon as hosting a game with anything other than 'fastest' as the speed setting. It's pretty much a given. So, no you can't turn it off but I wouldn't worry about it.
People will hear your wav.

I'd just would like to see the proof you have that "it's pretty much a given" that folks play with the SC-BW game music off.
*Meh* I give up. You're stubbornly hopeless.

I play with no music online in Melee/FFA/TvB but with music in offline or UMS games sometimes...

But I'd say he can either use SCMLoader or instruct people... really, the only way to do it...

I was reffering to UMS and in ums it is. Since alot of ums maps, like those bounds and stuff have a song that plays throughout and I've never ever seen someone type: "How come I am hearing two songs play at the same time?" I could conduct a poll but why waste time proving what I already know. You'll just find some other way to argue for the sake of arguing.

Now you have it more referenced (as in, most bounds and RPG's). And may I just make the quick note that you already are switching arguements (from all, to some kind of UMS maps)? Before, you just had an "no true Scotman" fallacy (http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/mathew/logic.html#scots) which was obviously in lack of accuracy. See where I'm getting at? ;)

Yes, what you're getting at is that you're annoying and have to be 'right' about everything.

I'm pretty sure if you did a poll the vast majority of players of ANY kind of UMS map keep the starcraft music off. I'm not interested in proving it to you because I don't care what you think. My advice was for the topic creator that if I were him I wouldn't worry about the music being heard

Ultimately, the question has been answered, I am led to believe so this thread has served its purpose.
