The USS American Spirit was the pride of the sea. Newly built in Tampa Bay the cruise ship was the pinnicle of Sailing and Navigation technolgy. This was here maiden Voyage. Just a quick juant around the Carribian. The most powerful families in the world had paid thousands for tickets. At 600 feet long and 300 feet wide it was also one of the biggest. Sadly like many before her her lif was short.

The captain sat inhis command chair trying not to fall asleep. Being the Maiden voyage problems were bound to arise on the ship. He really didn't expect for the aft swimming pool to leak its water into the state rooms below but it did. He didn't expect for the ship's envriomental systems to falsely detect high levels of methane gas in the Club Med lounge. It sounded the abandon ship alarm and sent evreyone into panic. He had been up alomst 24 hours. He was sure that someones head was gonna role at the office. He hoped it wouldn't be his. "Sir? Were picking up a landmass near by. Its not on any of the charts," announces the radar operator.
"Is it in our path?" ask the captain striaghting up.
"No sir its about 2 miles out we should be able to- Sir radar contacts comeing in fast its like a swarm. Sonar is picking it up to. There screeching," yells the ensign.
"What re they bats?" ask the captain.
"No sir to large."
THe captain grabs his binoculars and looks out into the gloom. "Oh dear god," he mutters. "Bring us around course 180!" He orders. The the first of the shapes flys over the deck. It had a long beak with a large wing span. The lights shown through the thin membrane of its wings. It swooped down and dived at a young couple who were walking. With a loud shreak it grabbed the woman i its claws and lifted her up, but she was to heavy and the thing dropped her over the side. "Sound the emergency alarms! Warn the guest to stay in there rooms! orders the cpatain then one of the thing rams into the windows. A shard of glass his him in the head killing him. The ensign is knocked out his arm his the console. The ship changs direction. Right at the island.....
