yes. keep one spore colony at every expansion. make devourers as fast as possible when you realize that. hydras with ups would be quite important too. it's important that you keep your expoes, don't let him expo

In order for you to expand, you basically need hydras + overlords with speed upgrade. After you get that and are able to expand, you can play normally.
