war!

War has broken out through the forums, and the members are in a state of chaos. Factions have formed, and battling amongst each other for complete domination of the boards! The Legion of Schwitzer, consists of mindless, zombified followers of the Infected Schwitzer. He has corrupted them, and they have become mindless, subservient beings.

AJites, are a small group of powerful followers dedicated to AJ, and are dedicated to follow him until the end. They are vastly outnumbered, however, they possess admin-powers making them the strongest faction in terms of weaponry.

Waving the flag of freedom above his head, Black.Ice started his group in midst of a battle, rallying fleeing members to defeat a small attack force of The Legion of Schwitzer. Unifying them, he is leading a battle against the vile leader, hoping to beat him. Calling themselves the Followers of Black.Ice, they have pledged not to rest until Infected Schwitzer is stopped. They are vastly outnumbered, but their enthusiasm and bravery has kept them alive.

There are several other factions that are scattered throughout the remnant of the forums. The Legion of Schwitzer is by far the largest, and will undoubtedly win if he is not stopped.

AJites and the Followers of Black.Ice are the two largest forces opposing them. while they are not inherently allied, they realize that fighting amongst themselves is pointless.

How This Will Work

Each Faction Has Three Attributes:

Attack
Defense
Followers

Each Faction can either Attack or Fortify.

Fortify:
When the AJites fortify, they're attack increases by four. They gain two followers. They gain one defensive point.
When the Followers of Black.Ice fortify, they're defense increased by three They gain four followers. They gain one attack point
When the Legion of Schwitzer fortifies, attack increased by two defense by two and followers increase by 10.

Attack:
When one faction attacks the other, the offensive attack rating is subtracted from the victims defense score. The left over number is subtracted from the amount of followers. If the number is less than 0, it means no damage

Every 500 posts or so, I'll be coming around and throwing curveballs in to even things up and keep it fun. Maybe add a few new factions to help out whoever is losing, etc.

Rules

A faction can only fortify twice in a row. The third time, they must attack. However, they can continuously attack if they want.
I reserve the right to jump in and fix any thing if it's way off (balance changes)
I reserve the right to throw in natural disasters or anything else I see fit. :)Let the fun begin!

Since I'm really the first poster of this game, tell me if I played this correctly.

So I subtract 2 follower points from the AJites right? And if you increase your Defense Rating, the more followers you lose from an attack? The group with no followers is out of the game? Ok, hope I'm right.

You're actually off by one.

AJites defense is 2.
LoS attack is 3.

3 (Attack) - 2(Defense) = 1 (Attack made it through defense).

That means, 1 attacker killed an AJite. So, it should be 49.

O... seems really easy now. I was totally opposite of the defence thing :\. Since the attack rating of the LoS is too low, we can't do any damage to the Followers of Black.Ice?

Update: The number in the parenthesis are the respective upgrades. It should help with the thread, rather then referring back to original post. The first number represents attack, the second one is defense, and the third id followers.

Please remember, that if you fortify twice the third thing you do must be an attack, whether it does no damage or not. That way it prevents people from fortifying too much and getting strong too quickly. So, the Followers of Black.Ice must attack the next time someone wants to use them. Same applies for LoS.

I tried making it as even as possible. If it becomes way too strong, I'll balance it out. Also, you guys messed up on the AJites upgrade. They should be at 12 / 4, not 8 / 3.

Doesn't matter where - despite being over twice as many as the other two combined, can't do squat. Perhaps in a rebalance introduce some consideration of follower count into the equation - or would that over-complicate it? *shrug*

I support the idea of smothing out things and giving LoS a little boost. Things are quite balanced (the exception AJites maybe) but LoS lacks users who support it.

Maybe every XX followers could boast attack rating by one. But that may overcomplicate it and cause more imbalancement in turn.

You guys realize that when Followers of Black.Ice die, the Legion of Schwitzer stands no chance against the AJites? FoBI are the defensive team, and they're supposed to be the team that keeps the balance in check. (Because if fortified, they're defense will be strong and they should be able to knock a few points off the winning team to help balance things out.) With FoBI gone, AJites will just hammer the LoS.

Whatever though. There's always War Boards V2! :)

I think you've gotten it wrong. The defense rating of FoBI has some how dropped from 32 to 7. Unless I have missed some invisble post that contained additional rules your attack should have no effect.

update: After covering much ground, the AJites establish a base camp in middle of a desert. While this allows them to fortify in peace, they have a problem -- there's no one around to recruit.

AJites will not again any followers until I say so.

We have to ignore Schwitzer's post, because he f'd up everything. Anyways, here's the updated stats / story.

The Followers of Black.Ice and the AJites massed outside the gates of the Legion of Schwitzer. Their time for victory was at hand. With their combined forces, Legion Of Schwitzer stood no chance!

Black.Ice, sitting in a small camp, waited for the daybreak. It was then they'd launch a massive assault against the Legion of Schwitzer. With the Followers of Black.Ice's advanced defenses and the AJites strength, they would win by the end of the night.

Foot steps broke the silence of the night. "Sir! Sir!" a frantic voice screamed in Black.Ice's direction. "We have a problem!"

Black.Ice turned towards the messenger, and raised an eyebrow. "It's AJ!" the messenger barked, "Him and his followers! They're... They're moving in .. our direction. They're attacking!"

Black.Ice's eyes widened with fear. What was AJ thinking? Before he could order a retreat, the AJites attacked. Their massive admin-powers begin crushing through their powerful defenses. Black.Ice, realizing that the situation was hopeless, issued the order to retreat, however, they had lost everything they had worked for. The Followers of Black.Ice were defeated.

However, Black.Ice and a few of his close advisers managed to flee to safety. It was impossible for them to rebuild; but Black.Ice had another plan... this wouldn't be the end of him.
