What's the best place to go rune hunting now?

Where's the best place to go find some good runes now? I've been doing Countess runs but I'm getting nothing but low runes. Is it just bad luck or should I go hunting somewhere else?

I usually dont rune hunt really, I like finding items then trading them for runes. A good thing to do is find Grand Charms that give to skills and trade for HRs or what ever you need. :)

Countess is the best... relatively speaking. Still though, I've found ists off her before, I think 3, plus various other runes under that. On top of that, you usually end up with a nice stash of rals and such, which some people trade for en masse for crafting purposes.

Countess is still good, but honestly, it is nearly worthless now that runes are so widely duped.

That's the main reason I want to know where I can find some good runes. I do not want all my runes poofing because they were dupes. Otherwise, I'd be doing Travincial runs.

apparently the lower kurast is a good place as well. Never really tried running this myself but I believe it was said that in the logs and chests or whatever.

I usually trade for any HR I need and I don't try to get them unless I plan on using them right then. Out of all the D2 I've played I've found a Cham once (A5 doing a Hell Baal run), Vex once (Doing a Meph MF run in A3 on the third lvl from one of those sub bosses right B4 Meph), A Jah in the Chaos sanctuary, and 2 Ber's (I think they were in A5 all hell of course). 5 HR's in all these years. Otherwise I just rush mass mules to hell forge and up them. I've never gotten anything profitable off of the countess higher than a Pul I think.

There is no "best place" to go rune hunting. The highest you can get off of countess is ist, the same goes for the hellforge quest. Your odds of finding runes are higher anywhere where there are alot of enemies to kill, preferably higher level ones. Act 3 hell from flayer jungle on up to act 5 baal would be good areas to hunt I think. Don't expect to find anything soon though.
If you play ladder, I'd suggest massing mid-runes and upgrading them. Its easier than finding high runes off of monsters or chests. If you play on non-ladder you're going to have a much tougher time. If you desperately need a particular rune, but dont have anything to sell, try massing perfect gems or jewels and selling them in sets of 40 for whatever high rune you need. People dont like taking the time to do that, but its much faster than waiting for a ber to drop off a monster.

Technically Countess is the best place to rune hunt. In single player games (solo/1 person) she will ALWAYS drop a rune (or more).

Ah, well for single player games type /players 8 and you'll get sexier drops(Because the game will set the number of non-partied characters in the game to whatever number you put. Its good for exp, mf boost, and yes increased % for runes to drop. Thats Single-Player and open b.net only). If you're hunting for runes in general, then yes, countess is the single best place to hit, I've found Travincal to be 2nd. But if you are after anything higher than ist, search in mid-late hell (Includig trav even though I mentioned it earlier).

No, more players // players 8 modfier will cause Countess to drop more items, and less runes. =P

Her rune drop is seperate from her item drop, however, since each monster has a drop limit of 6 (?) items, once it cycles through her item drops, she won't drop any runes.

Haha, and lets not even start on Key Drops =/

Is the Rune drop rate for having a one person party on B.Net the same as the drop rate for Non B-Net player?

I do a cheap thing of joining a low level party, freeload off of there faster internet then ignore everything they do and do a Count run. Then i switch to a new party.
