Here's a a strat I wrote for TvT. The main goal here is to contain. You'll scout 10/10 or 10/18, when you've found your opponents base, keep your SCV near thier choke. When you reach 200 minerals and 100 gas, you should start factory near the choke.

This strat probably will shorten your intake on resources early game since you tech before you get many minerals, but if you do it correctly, you will cut off your opponent from expanding. After your 2nd factory, it's up to you to decide what to make, probably ebay or expo.

9/10 depot
10/10 barracks
12/18 refinery
14/18 factory
16/18 machine shop
16/18 tank
16/18 research siege
18/18 depot
18/18 armory
18/26 tank
22/26 factory

1) its pretty much proxy fac, and if he discovers you or go drops, your screwed

2) youll be getting a depot really late at 18, which will severely damage your eco. It also means that for that while, your macro is fucked over.

3) you do a lot of things at 16. Thats not a bad thing, but it will delay your tech. also you get factory extremely early, which may be a problem

1) By the time they get drop, you will probably have ebay or goliaths.

2) The late depot is so that I could get early tanks and siege, plus you are gathering resources for your next tanks and you are starting an armory during the time your waiting for the depot.

3) Early factory is so that I have more tanks than my opponent when he gets factory.

sry i ment armory early. tvt you dont really need gols that early, only tanks.

Probably very effective if you're not detected. Then again there's like a 80% chance you WILL get detected.

If you don't get detected you probably have an easy win under 10 minutes.
Wonder if that's a fun game...aside from getting away with cheese like that...

might work. replays plz. But as blupp said if he gets scout into your main before marine is ready you are quite screwed. And if he does 2fac vultu you are screwed too. And if he does gol drop you are screwed. And vs 1port wraith too. But if he doesnt do any of those youll be fine.

Basically, if he DOESN'T do ANY of the things a T is MOST likely to do, you'll do fine :P

What this strat basically leads up to is, if successful, an über-fast contain, but at an incredibly high risk. I'd rather go with medium-paced contain, at no risk at all (or little).

And as far as detection goes, my comment was more along the lines of the scouting worker seeing the actual factory being built somewhere outside his choke. Which would be the worse scenario, cause a scout in the main, seeing no fac, will only know you're up to SOMETHING. Not WHAT you're up to.

I was thinking that to avoid detection best, you'd have to put your factory a bit longer away from the choke. Or actually, at his nat might be best. I for one rarely send my scout there when I go to find my opponent.

Hmm... maybe if I build the factory where it can't be seen? I know there's a couple of corners where you can build on LT.

And turrets and goliaths would stop 1port wraith or goliath drop.

i didnt mean that he would kill with 1 wraith, i meant that he will drop 2tanks to other main and secure exp (tho this depends on map and position). And I believe that you can stop 4gol with that when I see so replay plz. If you dont have rep say and we will go and test it.
