"What goes on through the mind of a writer when he is creating a character. Does that person feel distant from him.. or are the two connected somehow. Is it like having an old friend come over for a visit or more like an annoying relative constantly seeking attention. Or deeper still... is the character an extension of his creator... a sort of inner ego longing to be set free. I guess we all have our own answers in the end."

FBY is a unique RP in that it takes place in two very different settings conjunctively. In a world much like ours, advanced telecommunitcation technologies have brought about new ways of interacting. As a result newer MMORPGs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MMORPG) were developed and thus the world of Final Blue Yonder was born.

A new Sensation:

It all started with LIS

Who is LIS you ask... well she's not your normal kind of gal thats for sure. She tends to be a bit calculating, some what technical, even cold at times but if you ask me SHE-IS-HOT. About a couple million volts worth of hotness to be more precise.

In case you haven't yet figured it out LIS stands for Live Illusionary System. It is a tool originally developed by the scientific community to hold live-detailed conferences between top minds across the world. Powered by supercharged servers and a lightning fast network built on fiber-optic technology this amazing system took hold almost immidiately.
From deep within Africa an archeologist could meet with his colleagues in Harvard and show them his revolutionary discovery on the origins of man kind.

College students from from China could hold a workshop with a universtiy in southern California right from there own home town.

But in reality LIS's true potential had not even begun to be tapped. Soon Big Buisness started muscling it's way into the mix. The change was almost instant, why own a "physical" office building when all your workers can interact and work in a giant virtual hive of information. It erazed boudries and expanded profits, but also made people very lazy.

It was only a matter of time before LIS made her way into the public life. With larger commercial availability special "home access" systems where developed (head sets). Though at first these gadgets were cumbersome and expensive, they quickly developed into sleeker more affordable units.

And so LIS came to be the mankind's mate...

and from this marriage many a children were born...
.
Including a gaming world future afficionados would one day refer to affectionally as Big Blue.

Gold Rush:

Like many of the new-age MMORPGs, FBY was set in a life like world using the Live Illusionary Sytems. Basically this means that a player sees himself and those arround him as the characters that they created. Everything from the smell of a virtual town to the glaring sun becomes as real as the blood in one's veins.

But what truly sets FBY apart from competitors is that its completely free to anyone with access to LIS. Thats right, the game is entirely Ad-supported, which often means that people have to deal with wanted signs sponsored by g-inc or clouds spelling out the name of your favorite drink (though nothing in the way of popups). Most players have learned to live with these minor anoyances. Never the less there are always a few who can't help but chant out how annoying advertizing is, though ironicaly they continue to play.

Even from it's humble origins Final Blue Yonder was always unique, taking place in an American WIld West like setting reflective of modern unregulated expansionism. Which in the end, contributed to the games over all success. In the first few months it started of as a mere side-show to the big attractions. Supported by user donations, the little game that could grew slowly but surely. Small companies began noticing the game's potential and offered funding in exchange for advertising. With word getting out on the game, it was only a matter of time before it blossomed beyond proportions.

Then after FBY's 9 month, a sudden explosion of "immigration" took place. Millions upon millions of users flooded the servers threating to crash the game. No one knows what was directly reponsible for the sudden jump in population but the end result is clear... A constantly expanding world of "rangers" and "outlaws"...

Normally I'm against threads like this that advertise in advance, however, seeing that you're a seasoned RP'er I think I'll let this one slide...

As mentioned before, this RP takes place in two settings, the out world and FBY.

Out World:

The out world is much like our own the only difference being more advanced communication technologies. There are no other major new discoveries or advances as of now. Countries are still the same as are political relationships.

It is here were you will be building the "soul" of your character, call it the Rp'er within the Rp.

Posting Details:

Rpers will be allowed much freedom in building their character's background given the fact that they stay within world boundaries. In other words no Magic or cruising on a spaceship to Mars.
Rpers are incouraged to interact with other Rpers in this world.
Rpers will not be forced to post in this world.
Final Blue Yonder:

Final Blue Yonder is an MMORPG taking place in an American Wild West (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Old_West)setting, spiced up with a hint of magic and economic expansion. The world is divided into four regions:

North East: Heavily forested region populated mainly by "Spiriters".

Main City:Little Wood; most recently built town and site of rebellious Spiriter attacksIssues: Though Spiriters for the most part have accepted the loss of their land a few tribes remain volatile. It is in this region where the mayority of those spiriters reside.

Economy: Lumber and pelt export.

South east: Coastline and mountain region, also the most populated.

Main City: San Altos, port and mining hotspot.Issues: With the vast amount of gold found in the area there has been a surge of population, however, more people often mean more problems. Thievery has become rampent in the area not only from actual thieves themselves but also from greedy law men offering their "protection" in exchange compensation.

Economy: Gold mining and Fishing
North West: Lake and plains region, home to the giant buffion herds (12 foot buffalos.)

Main City: Dodge, gambling and nightlife hotspot.Issues: A family of buisness owners and ex-military named the Erps hold control over this region providing both lodging and entertaiment for the many lawmen and outlaws that pass through. Though they maintain peace, the Erps have often been accused of muscling out buisness competitors. Gunfights are rare due to strict anti-gun laws.

Economy: Gambling, bars, brothels, and buffalo skinning.

South West: Desert Canyon Region, deadliest region
Main City: Gunsmoke, a bullet is your only justice here

Issues: A dangerous region filled with banditos looking to outrun the law. Vultures are constantly seen circling the sky, looking for the next bullet filled corpse to feed on. Step into the wrong bands territory and you are shot on sight no matter who you happen to be. Yet despite the threat of man, it is often said you would have an easier time surviving a bullet to the heart than a walk through the grueling Desert of Stix.

Economy: Not much, just stashed away fortunes
A single railroad, often the target of robberies, connects the four regions at each major city.

Charcters in FBY are characterized by reputation, which is gained depending on there title. There are two titles to choose from:

Rangers: Whether corrupt or just, rangers try to bring their own form of law to FBY. They gain reputation either collecting bounties, making arrests, or killing banditos. Rangers can form groups of up to three lawmen called a posse.
Banditos: Living in FBY is all about making it for your self and that is what a Bandito is all about. Banditos gain reputation by robbing money or killing lawmen. Baditos can form groups of up to three outlaws called bands.
Making money: In addition, there is a third way for both titles to gain reputation, that simply being financial status. So theoretically you could start a buisness in San Altos selling mining equipment, make a ton of money, and have the same level of reputation as a ranger who's made his fair share of arrests.(Note to all Rpers: Changes may soon come to the above area so be on the look out)

Apart from titles there are also two classes in FBY:

Gunman: These are the bread and butter of FBY. The term gunmen refers to a character that uses weapons. This means they can uses anything from a shotgun using Ice Spiriter Bullets to a simple knife.
Spiriter: Spiriters were the first to populate the land of Big Blue. The local natives, they were pushed out by a culture hungry to expand its land. Spiriters are very wary of strangers, it hasn't been until recently that outsiders have begun learning their ways. Spiriters have the uncanny ability to enchant almost anything from a bullet to a bottle of whiskey. They range from elemental to animal and come with matching abilities. Though their abilities are not often visually stunning they do come in handy.Posting Details:

Despite titles and classes, Rpers are free to choose their own profession as long as they stay within world boundaries. In other words an Rper can create his own saloon but not invent the automobile or travel to another continent.
Rpers are free to follow their own story line though it is recommended they follow the main story.
Appart from the main towns, Rpers are free to create their own towns temporary or otherwise. Though they should not expect other Rpers to remember the town unless they've taken it upon themselves to maintain it.
Rpers are encourgaed to from groups (posses/bands)Finally in oder to avoid confusion between worlds, posts will contain the name of the character in Outworld and the name of the Character/Title in FBY.

Name: Henry V. Allens
Character:Sunny D. Kid
Title/Class: Ranger/Gunman/(Spiriter place associate spirit here)
Group:<<group name here>> (PM me if you are planning to from a group)

Backround: Well what can I say... school has been a real bore lately. Usually I don't get out much, my mom keeps telling I should go play some sports or something but she doesn't understand.

Even with Manhattan just a bus a ride away there is still nothing much to do, but when I get in to the game everything changes. I feel like I've become the character, I don't know how to explain it but my whole attitude transforms. It's like being set free.

Extra: Physical description of Characters is optional

Current Server Event:

Glistining Blood:

San Altos Region History: San Altos saw its beginnings as a small trading port linking the region to lands across the western ocean. Slowly it expanded as new occupants moved in to settle large sects of land. The coastal city was a naturally beautiful and peaceful place, with the towering Altos mountain range to the east and sandy shores to the west. All this changed quite soon enough...
The first traces of gold were found by a woods-man whose name has been lost to memory. The woodsman did not pay much attention to his discovery merely calling it a stroke of luck. The press on the other hand had a field day... soon stories of large veins of gold lining the mountain ranges began circling, who knew they were right. Overnight San Altos population nearly tripled. Ignoring the land boundaries set by the previous settlers, eager prospectors set out to claim their piece in the mountains.

Soon everyone wanted a share, most notably local law enforcement. The San Altos sheriffs could be seen daily patrolling mining roots, collecting their so-called "protection" tax. In order to protect themselves from both bandits and corrupt law-men alike a group of prosperous miners came together to the Grand Pick Miners Guild. Based on Midas Peak at the center of the mountain range, Grand Pick controls a vast expanse of land and are one of the most powerful organizations in the region.
It is unsure how much gold has been drilled from the gut on the Altos mountain range but locals often joke you could pave a road around the world with it.
Recently with gold getting harder to find, new veins are ferociously contested. Fights have been known the break out within mining areas and even deep with in the mines themselves. As for San Altos its self, local shops have been hiring guards to make up for the lack of law enforcement.

Note to Rpers: The most powerful organizations in the region by are the San Altos sheriffs department and the Grand Pick Miner's guild. These two organizations have been at each others neck for months and have become known for putting out bounties on each others members. Each of them has large amounts of valuables hidden through out the area for those brave enough to take the risk.

On a side note, merchants (traveling and local) are always looking for hired guards to look over their buisnesses

Yo's. I'm in.

Name: Ashley Thomas
Character: Sin
Title/Class: Bandito/Gunslinger
Group: Open
Backround: In the real world, others ignored her. Her average looks, her dull blonde hair, her so-so smile, none of it stood out to anyone. She craved attention day and night, but she couldn't find it. Not in the right ways, at least.

A rebellious streak appeared in her, and slowly it grew, taking over every aspect of her life. Any effort on her school work dissapeared as she spiralled downward. Vandalism became her game, her fun, and drugs her comfort.

Then they caught her. The judge would have sentenced her to juvy, but perhaps pity, or Ashley's mother, changed his mind. Now, she sits at home all day as her parents sort through the wreckage of a life she left behind. Her only mode of entertainment became FBY.

This instant she began to play, she knew what she wanted. Almost instantly she became one of the most wanted outlaws in the entirety of the world. In a sad way, nothing has changed. It is all there, just in a different way.

Title/Class: Bounty Hunter / Spirter of the wind

Michelle came to America from France, and while he ejoies a more then adequate social life outside "Big Blue" he is more or less accepted in larger social areas even as a spiriter, due to his calm nature, but he is also often called upon to aid in defending spiriter territory.
He's a natural at most things school related, and a bonifide ladies man, they all fall for his witty charm.

Extra:
Michelle is about 6'0 with short dark hair and blonde highlights within it. He has a fair complexion.

In game character: Though He is the Wind speaker, His shape is that of a human. He will often travel into the desert to simply look at bounty postings when he gets bored or needs money for that one special item.
The appearance of his charcter resembles that of a native american, with a strong muscular build, but not huge and three circling tattoos of varying sizes down his left arm starting with one that completly encircles his shoulder.
The charcter is bald ecept for the long braided ponytail in the back.

As I walked into the station at Little Root, things seemed to have gotten awfully dense. Just a day ago Spiriters had been running wild. I had rode in to track down some bounties and the place seemed like a war zone. How quickly things change.

"Howdy Stranger. " The toothy old greeter at the staion called out to me. "Wont find no action round these parts for now. Reckon all them bandits headed over to San Altos to rustle them selves up some gold."

San Altos huh, sure has been a while...

Fine then, I'll hitch a ride on the tracks and be there by the hour. Might even pay a visit to my friends over at Midas peak.

I appear in my tavern in San Altos. It was the first tavern opened since the rumor of the gold rush came out. I figured it would be wise to start early and get myself settled in before all the rush came. Being the first tavern in the city helps because the regulars help spread the name around. And this was my third tavern, along with the other two located in Dodge and Little Wood.

A man in a clean uniform steped in through the swinging doors. "I hear ya bin looking for a bartender miss"

I take a seat down at one of the bar stools and he sits next to me. "You hear right."

"Well I'd be up to the job. I just started FBY and I need some cash."

"Well I would be paying you based on the bars activity. You would get about a ten penny per drink you sold."

"Per drink mam? That sounds like a mighy deal."

"Can you mix drink though?"

"One of the best they call me. I can make anything you ask of me."

"Good, you're hired then. Welcome to Miss Vallery's Tavern. Your name there?"

"Malrick. The name's Malrick."

"Well Malrick, another one of your responcibilities is to make sure none of the evening dancers get hurt. Just call over a roughian to help you if the case arrives."
I stand up and curtsy the man. Then I got up to the second floor of the tavern where I had some guest rooms that travelers could stay in. I also had my office up there. My officer served the purpose of lending out dancers for the evening to guests who wanted extra company in their rooms.

Sunny D. Kid/ Ranger

Just stepping out the station, you felt as if a world away. San Altos is far from the small wood shacks of an outpost village, this here is the center of Big Blue.

San Altos... has a peaceful ring to it... yeah right. The city is a bustling metropolis. Shifty eyed merchants line every corner waiting for the next sucker to come by. Heck, even walking through the crowded streets is a chore of its own.

Back way when, atleast the moutains were peacful. Filled with nature and far from the hustle of city life. Now their just filled the holes of miners looking to make it big.

Well, if you can't beat' em join' em, as the saying goes. Yes sir, money is the language spoken here and those who don't know better learn quick, or else find themselves out in the cold.

Vallaries huh...

I had seen a couple of these around other regions. Good places to kick back for a while, even get some info on bounties, that is of course as long as you were willing to pay.

Walking through the main doors I was pleasently surprised. The place was pretty well kept, not that it had to be. But it seemed like the owner liked to take care of things.

"Bartend", I called out as I took a seat at the main bar.

"What'll you have ranger."

"Suprise me." I barked back, watching him turn away with a cheeky smirk on his face as he reached down to grab a couple of bottles.

The last time I had been in San Altos, my bounties nearly got the best of me. Might end up needing some help this time around. Wonder if anyone around here would be up to the job.

I sit, waiting in a tree as a ranger walks by. He looked new, inexperienced. His demeanor showed no fear, very sophomoric. His dull pistol sits in the holster, his hand nowhere near it. He’s perfect prey for a Bandito attack.

As if perfectly timed, three Banditos ride up behind him on fierce horses. One of them holds a rifle loosely; the others merely hold mischievous grins on their faces.

“Eh, you!” one of them shouts to the ranger.

He turns, “May I help you?” his voice quavers.

“Yeah you can, whatchya got on ye?” the one holding the rifle asks.

“Well, I-I-I aint got much….I uh…I got this pistol…,” he rummages through a bag and a shiny pendant falls out, presumably in a futile attempt to conceal it.

“What’s this?” the other states more than asks as he dismounts his horse. He walks over to the pendant but the foolish ranger snatches it up and attempts to run away. The Bandito with the rifle raises it and fires, hitting him in the leg. He falls to the ground, the pendant skittering off into the woods.

Time to act I think to myself and send a psychic message to Mylei. Before leaping down I pull my kukri and observe what the Banditos do next.

“Wrong move…,” one of them says and kicks him in the side. Another moves off into the woods to find the pendant. A loud growl echoes through the woods and the bandito reappears with his hands up, a look of terror painted across his face.

I leap from the tree and land behind the three banditos who are crowded around the fallen ranger. I see Mylei standing her ground, the pendant hanging from her snarling maw. The landing was silent, as was my quick sprint behind the one holding the rifle. I quickly grab his wrist and wrench the rifle from his hands and kick him in the back, sending him to the ground. I then cast a quick spell, my senses heighten. I feel the world around me slow, when in fact I was just speeding up greatly.

By this time one of the Banditos had pulled his pistol but I already closed on him. I slam the butt of the rifle into his stomach and bring him to the ground by hitting the backs of his knees. The other fires his pistol at me, but I lift the butt of the rifle and catch the bullet with it. I drop the rifle and throw my kukri into his shoulder.

I feel my sense drop back to normal and the world goes back to normal. I walk up to the groaning Bandito who had collapsed, grasping at the knife in his shoulder. I pull it out and yank him up by the collar. I lead him to his horse and shove him towards it. The other banditos get shakily to their feet and ride off.

I go to fallen ranger who looks down pale faced at the wound in his leg. I take some herbs from a leather pouch at my side and stick it in my mouth. I chew a bit and take them out; he gives me a look of disgust as I place it over the wound. I lay my hand across the wound and chant a few inaudible words. I remove my hands and the wound is gone, I smile at him as I stand up.

I walk towards the fallen rifle and hand it to the ranger, who also has stood up. I take the pendant from Mylei’s mouth and hand it to the ranger who nods graciously. I then walk off into the woods to hunt for some hides to sell.

I stop and turn, “Be more careful next time,” and walk off into the woods, Mylei following closely.

(OOC: This is my first time writing in first person present tense so I apologize for any inconsistencies. Mylei is my wolf companion by the way.)

One slip and I'm dead. Like I didn't already now that. Grip the rock, hold on tight. Hope. Slowly I pull myself up another foot. Grueling work, hard work. Don't look down. Too late. I look up and see a ledge. Maybe a little rest for once. Slowly I make my way to it. Inch over inch, foot over foot. Hour after hour.

The ledge is an entrance. To what I don't know. I peek over the edge, and there is a dark portal into the canyon. I don't like the dark. But I got nothing to lose. Light a match, cock my gun. Hope. That's the only thing left. Hope.

I was sitting in a bar in San Altos when a lonley looking ranger walked in... and real cocky like he responded to the bartender who offered him a drink to surprise him. He looks like he's looking for trouble.

"Wait a second Barkeep!" I Said approaching the Bartender, "Give him one of mine, you know the kind, and put it on my tab."

"Why thanks partner." The ranger responded

"Lets cut the pleasantries, You're looking for bounties aren't you?" I asked him, wanting to get to the point.

The bartender handed him a drink, and gave me a new one aswell mainly because I told him to keep em comin' whenever I got empty

"That I am, lookin for a partner too. What about yerself?" He asked me.

"Well, I hear that the bounties in this part are mighty dangerous, but I also hear that they pay well. I could use a helping hand. So how bout' it?" I eagerly asked him

Note to Rpers: The most powerful organizations in the region by far are the San Altos sheriffs department and the Grand Pick Miner's guild. These two organizations have been at each others neck for months and have become known for putting out bounties on each others members. Each of them has large amounts of valuables hidden through out the area for those brave enough to take the risk.

On a side note, merchants (traveling and local) are always looking for hired guards to look over their buisnesses

He was a peculiar sight to say the least. A tall rustic looking spiriter, didn't exactly blend in to the current surroundings. This would be interesting.

The bar tender approached us with two drinks, I took a deep gulp. The cool liquid had a awkward burning sensation going down... just the way I liked it.

"You could tell alot about a man by his choice of drink." I responded holding out my hand towards him. " Stranger,You've got yourself a partner."

"You can call me Sunny."

"VentParleur", he responded.

Turning away for a moment I stared towards a window outlooking the Altos mountain range. "Tell me Vent, how much do you know about Midas Peak."

It would seem that I have myself a new partener for the time being, luckily I had did some research on the region before hand mainly midas peak. It would appear that the two major factions in the area were feuding for months with no end in sight, good times for bounty hunters.

"Well Sunny, as you may or may not know the tow main factions in this area those being the Sheriffs Department and the Grand Pick Miner's guild have been feuding for months on end, and in fact they have offered bounties for members of the others guild. The way I see it we should head up stairs to missus Vallery's office and see if she knows where in this place we might be able to get us some fine bounties. Ya see this here tavern is the first opened in this region, so she should know where we can aquire what we need." I explained to Sunny

"Sounds fine to me partner" Sunny said to me.

We finished our drinks, and I handed the bartender more then enough to cover my tab as a tip of course, I always reward good service. Sunny and I then headed up stairs to Vallery's office to have a little chat about the region. Wether or not we'd be staying the night was yet to be decided.

[ooc: Tag warbrood/calibur: I figure by saying we were at your tavern, we might be able to get some interaction between our charcters and draw some of our fellow RPers into the Rp.]

I can't get it out of my head. The game. THE game. Parents keep pulling me off. But I keep getting back on. They threaten to take it away. Only so long before they do. Problematic. But I can always find a way around.

Dark caves, mysterious labriynths, and a troubling map. Whether this is some coder's joke or simply an undiscovered dungeon, I wouldn't know. The torch in my hand illuminates a ingraving on a wall. It shows exactly where every cavernous opening around me leads to. They lead to different parts of the nearby world. At first, it may seem advantageous. But what lies in between the destination and the start is what I fear. Perhaps if I knew what was there, I would feel better. But there was no way of telling what it was. Sure, I could tell that something was there.

Because that same something, I'm sure, had scraped previous markings, everywhere.

An echo in the distance. A screech that would scare even the bravest of spiriters. My gun suddenly feels less comforting. I glance at the map, and then run. Run to San Altos. And pray.

I sat up in my office all day responding to letters asking for reservations. Most of which I had to turn down because I was booked right up. The sounds of footsteps came up the stairs and two gunner types stood at me desk.

"We're looking for a room."
"You along with plenty of others. I am booked."
"We will pay double."
"Others at paying over ten times normal rate."
"So be it."

As they counted between each others coins I saw they did not have much, not near enought to stay one night.
"How bout I make you boys a deal."
Their heads picked up.
"Listening."
"The Grand Pick Miner's Guild has been causing me trouble. They offered to buy me out and whence I refused they have been trying to scare me into selling. If you two lads can send them a messege showing them that I aint easy to scare, I might just be able to get ya a room. Deal?"

She sure was demanding. But thats a buisness woman for you, always trying to grab competition by the cojones. Though I had to admit hunting down some Grand Pick officials sure sounded fun.

Just then my burlier spiriter partner looked as if he was about to say something, luckily I cut in. "Excuse me Missus... if you don't mind, me and my partner have to have a word."

The two of us stepped outside the office moving a couple of paces away.

"What is it." He exclaimed.

"Woa, easy my friend." I whispered, hinting for him to do the same- "Now, I'm not saying I don't want some action, but I'm sure we could milk her for more than a free room."

By now one of his eyebrows had nudged up, though I wasn't sure if it was because I had peaked his interest or he was just plain confused.

"After all, the Grand pick is a dangerous organization that's not to be taken lightly. And then theres also the bounty reward money we could claim from the Sheriffs' department after taking out a few guild members. It's a two for one deal, what do you think?"

We decided that in fact we did need a room for the night, however Ms. Valerie was booked up and we couldn't narrowly afford the going rate she wanted. I knew I spent too much at the Bar. She however made us an offer, one of which I couldn't wait to take for I knew it would only lead to more generous bounties. Then for some reason of which I did not know my new partner Sunny spoke up.

"Excuse me Missus... if you don't mind, me and my partner have to have a word."

"What is it." I yelled at him, as I was more or less confounded why he didn't accept quickly as I was going to.

"Woa, easy my friend." he whispered, Seeming like he wanted me to do the same. "Now, I'm not saying I don't want some action, but I'm sure we could milk her for more than a free room."

So now that he had my attention, I wondered what he was going to say next. Such a shrewd buisness woman wouldn't offer us more then a room when she knew she could get the job done for much less.

"After all, the Grand pick is a dangerous organization that's not to be taken lightly. And then theres also the bounty reward money we could claim from the Sheriffs' department after taking out a few guild members. It's a two for one deal, what do you think?" He wispered.

"Well parnter, I knew you looked like the right type to be takin as a partner as soon as I saw you walk in this bar. Apparentally this was indeed a wise decision. Of course we should take some of the sheriffs bounties as our marks to use for her."

Such a punk ruffian, hes just the kind of guy could use on a team, thinking outside the box. Though I knew that as soon as I saw him enterin the bar why else would I have bought him a drink right?

By the time we had returned to the office, Miss Vallery was taking calls at her desk. "Busy Lady" I though to myself.

I proped myself down on an armchair to the front left of the desk while Vent took the right. Earlier after agreeing on what we were to do, I had told him to let me do the talking. Afterall, I was familliar with buisness people.

Having finished with her call Miss. Vallery's chair turned in our direction. "I hope you boys have come to an agreement."

"Miss" I said- "I have to admit, these rooms are nice but they're definitely not worth a bullet rideled ass."

Her gaze grew more intent, as did my own.

" Fact is, the Grand Pick Guild are not just any chumps. They have powerful allies all over this region, not to mention their own security force... That being said, me and my partner can garuantee they won't bother you again. However, it's gona cost you."

"What do you want." She responded.

"We want what you want." By now a toothy grin had crept its way into my face. "Security... You see Mam, we're aware of the other saloons you own in both Littlewood and Dodge. Now as you probably know traveling around can get preatty expensive, sometimes fellas like us even have to rough it out in the woods. So what we want from you is indefinite accomidations at any of you saloons free of charge. Give us that, and we can garauntee you will never see the Grand Pick near your saloon again."----"So what do you say.."

I had to think it over. What they asked was a big commitment and it would cost me plenty of money in the long run. Then I had an idea.
"Deal. As long as you boys enjoy employee bunks."
I awaited their responce

Sunny decided that we were asking for rooms at any of her Taverns until we chose to end the agreement. I liked that idea, and miss Valerie deemed it acceptable, only as long as we would sleep in employee bunks.

"Deal!" I said thinking if I let Sunny do any more negotiating we'd be short rooms.

I looked over on Sunny's obviously angered face, as he told me he would do the talking. I didn't really care much. The employee bunks are much more comfortable then some rock outside.

I told him- - let me do the talking, I know how to hadle these sort of people.- - But no, he had to settle for less. Sigh-- Well anyways, whats done is done. No use worrying about it.

Stretching out of my seat, I tipped my hat towrds Miss. Vallery "Well Mam, it's time to get to work. We'll be back before you can say- hasta maņana."

.....

Once outside we took a few minutes to sit down. "You know the Grand Pick won't back just from a few shots, right." I said, more thinking outloud rather than conversating.

"So then, what exactly are we doing." Vent responded

"I' m glad you asked."- - "It came to me while waiting in Miss. Vallery's office. The only way to get the Grand Pick to back of is to get them to go after some one else. Luckily for us The Grand Pick is already going after someone else."

I turned my head towards a large building at the center of town whose front doors were adorned with a large golden star. "We just have to put the blame on them." Vent had also turned his to face that building, from his large smile I could tell he was beginning to get it.

"Here's the plan::

Step 1- We'll each head to a base looking for the price on bounties, during this time we'll scope out the area.
Step 2- Afterwards we'll meet somewhere private and exchange information.
Step 3-Then seperate once again, and head to the opposite bases. Who ever heads to Grand Pick will leave a note claiming to be from the Sheriff's department and that the Grand Pick should keep their mits off the town's buisnesses. Who ever heads to the Sheriffs base will leave traces of the Grand Pick.

"In the end will each have our own perspective bounties and bonus free room. Now all that's left is to figure out who goes where."

Well, sunny didn't seem to angry that I had accepted miss Valeries offer but then his looks could at times be very deceiving. We had decided that we would go and acquire bounties from each individual guild and fuel the fire of their hate towards each other making them leave the towns business alone for at least a while.

"Well partner, I figure since you're the ranger type you should go lookin around that sheriffs department. I don't exactly fit in there you know. However as for now I gotta jack out because I got some stuff I've got to do tonight."

"Sounds good to me partner." Sunny said, "but we should exchange player information so we can reach each other later."

I decided it was time to jack out so I could go and get some homework done, and get ready to go out with my date allision. We exchanged information and with that I jacked out.

The caverns down below were said to hold the darkest secrets in the game. Treasures stretched for miles, unimaginable wealth and power. Yet where there is treasure, a gaurdian awaits. Maybe during my first few days, when I maintained my naive state, I would have ventured down to the abyss. But wisdom took hold, and I have stayed far from evil places since then.

Until now. Look around and I see a million shadows, places of refuge for who knows what. Not even a tenth of the massive collection of creatures in FBY had been found yet. If anyone did, they didn't survive. The thought sends a shiver down my spine. Fear of the unknown is far more powerful than any other feeling. Fear of the darkness in which the unknown lurks.

Suddenly, a scratch comes from the left. Something rubs up against stone, creating a noise that would've struck fear into the hearts of even the bravest. I cock my pistol, fear flowing freely through me. Something behind me. Whirl around. Echo of a shot. The torch is out. Darkness.
