Warobards Land Politics

This is the actual gameplay thread for WLP. Here are a few simple rules:

Technology: Nothing that would be developed within 10 years. That means no mechs, lasors, or any other sci-fi things. However, if it actualy is being developed now and due to be finished within 10 years, it is acceptable i.e. power armor suits for soldiers.

War: You can not simply say "I invade <inster nation>." You have to actualy say that your attacking the nation, and what your invasion consists of. An example of this would be "After the recent events, <nation> has decided to declare war on <nation>. The first strike consisted of an air raid against one of <nation>'s most important military bases." Also, no god modding. The power chart beneath should show you how strong everyone is. The stronger you are, the higher your rank is.

"The Department of Defense has put in a case for a substantial increase in funding for the coming financial year." The reporter rustles some papers and looks at the screen again, "Here we are with two people with something to say on this issue, I'd like to welcome Defense Chief Miranda Rubin and spokesperson for a group of protestors outside of Parliament house, Jack Wu. Welcome to the show"

"Glad to be here," The two say in unison.

"Chief Rubin, if you'd state your argument now please" the reporter says looking down at his papers.

"These are turbulent times we live in, turbulent and dangerous. And the only sensible response to that, of course, is to build a lot more weapons. Unless we get the funding we need, I can't promise that we'll be able to defend Surbrin's sovereign borders from rogue nations and foreign powers. Or those leaky boatloads of refugees, for that matter."

The protestor stands angrily and makes a swift movement, not a second later the camera is covered in red paint and shouting and sounds of fighting and moving feet can be heard along with "NO MORE BOMBS Surbrin needs fewer weapons, not more! Make the world a safer place! Disarm now!"

The reporter sits and looks astonished at the screen. A whisper can be heard from behind the camera and it cuts off.

A few weeks later the government of Surbrin agrees to increase the funding for the military over the next year.

Subsequently after the report the protestor was arrested for disorderly conduct and tried for three charges of assault and destruction of property. Later he and a group of protestors were caught breaking into a government weapons factory and arrested again. Sentencing has yet to be determined.

OOC: Dark, you weren't added as a nation participating. The log-in page is the homepage, you'll have to log in and then change regions before playing.

The Most Serene Republic of Lornecr's president, Kongilius Neman, has announced today that he has requested an alliance with The Holy Republic of Sagattar in hopes of a mutual alliance. No word has come from Sagattar, reports say, but the president is hopeful.

In other news, further deforestation to feed the fires of Lornecr's industry has incited even more protests by environmentalists and like-minded individuals. The protests raged for hours and eventually broke out in riot. Lornecr's police force promptly arrested and placed the rioters and ringleaders in a resocialization program in hopes of remolding them into responsible citizens.

Elsewhere, the mysterious glowing clouds over Lornecr's deserts have caused a few people to petition Lornecr's nuclear program. No response has been reported, but as the reports and petitions pile up, the president will likely have to make a decision.

In response to recent riots on the Narsindish-Lornecr border, most of these riots occuring on Lornecr's end, the Republic's military has been mobilized in limited numbers to impose martial law. Unofficial sources say Lornecr's forces have invaded barely into Narsindish borders. The president has offered no comment, instead opting to sit in his chair and stroke his furry white cat in contemplation.

"Get that idea out of the parliment, now. Before I bring in an Imperial Dragonrider to show you exactly what the noble dragons themselves think of the proposal."

Like a wave, the senate bobbed their heads in agreement and chorused thier aproval.

Two burly guards brandished their flechete guns and growled. The beef manufacturing company representitive squeqed and fled.

"I think I'm going to go insane before this term is over," the battered president muttered darkly.

Most certianly, such a superior force would easily crush Narsindish mechanized divisions, though the same could not be said about its highly mobile airforce and infantry...In other news...

The nation of Rlyehckistan began when several of the more intellegent prehistoric tribes of Magmaniaca migrated across the Edgewize sea in ships extremely advanced for the current period. That is where all trace of Rlyehckistan is removed from the mainland untill many years later, when it is reintroduced to the country via the imperialistic efforts of the nation of Lornecr. What little footholds Lornecr did gain on the island of Rlyehckistan were quickly taken back. Realizing that it would be more cost efficiant to have peace with Rlyehckistan than a bloody battle for every meter of land, Lornecr started trade negotions, creating a swapping of rescources and technology between the two countries. For a good many years after that, Rlyehckistan was Lornecr's "Little Sister" Untill about 100 years from the present, when it went under a cultural revolution. Rlyehckistan grew a national identiy, and withdrew a little from Lornecr, and started trading with the rest of the countries bordering the Edgewize sea.

The population of Rlyehckistan is very liquid, with a large portion of the populace sticking to the country's old nomadic lifestyle. Most permanent settlements are large military bases, which are usually surrounded by many different traveling communities. Although some settle into a nice house near a military base or large city, the rest travel the island in a sort of traveling town.

Rlyehckistan's landscape is pristine and beutiful. All natural rescources, plants, factories, and such are heavily regulated to stop them from overly harming the ecology. Because of the liquidity of its populace, most of the infastructure is run by the military, since there are many jobs to fill with the mandatory military service. One of the oddities of the island, and to some degree its first line of defense is the nations swamps. The swamps line a lot of the coastal area, and due to a chemical mixture in the soil and water, releases a gas that will drive humans insane if they spend prolonged ammounts of time in them. The chemical makeup of the swamp gas is a closely held secret. It is also the chief progenator of Rlyehckistan's National Animal.

With news of unease about Narsindish, the total and absolute ruler of Rlyehckistan has ordered their ambassadors in Sagittar and Lornecr to offer help to try and resolve resolve the issue with little or no violence. Aid is offered to all three countries.

Trade continues as normal with all countries bordering the sea.

"The Republic of Narsindish eagerly opens her arms to such a benevolent state as Rlyehckistan willing to extend her nuetral hand of friendship. Hopefully, and form of violence that may be happening can be washed away with the aid of such well trained diplomatic services," the government representitive droned in a sleep inducing monotone. Half of the press was already asleep, the other half very close to succumbing. Foriegn news services with crews unused to the method of cover up favored by the Narsindish government were in a comatose state of boredome.

Today on world news: "The ruler of Trokais has made a statement: "My nation will not go to war anytime soon. Internal strife must no tear my nation apart. Trokais must focus it's resources twoards the rebel groups who threaten our nation. Thus, until further notice, Trokais shall not side with anyone, but shall remain neutral. I am also eager to increase commerce with any countries in the land, who are willing to do so as materials are needed."

"Yes Jane, it does seem that the Tiny nation of Anamalaliaa has removed itself from the UN. Aparently the representative told them to "Bugger off" and that they would not be told what to do by any governing body."

"But Dick. That does put the tiny nation at odds with the world now doesn't it. Being known as a nation that likes to keep to itself the Queen has been in power for almost 75 years."

"75 years? how is that posible."

"Well, Its not known precisly as to wether that is rumor not."

"Wait a minute Jane. We have live breaking news that the celebrations going on in the small town have lead to an anouncement that military testing is going on off the coast and our sources tell us it is a type of Bomb."

Screen changes to a look a tiny ocean island off the caost and then a rather large explosion can be seen.

"Jane, our sources say that it was a neutron bomb. One hell of one at that rate and we have lost contact with our satalite uplink. We will keep you all up to date on any goings on in the world. This is the WNN signing off.

in Trokais, an ambassador that no one ever really noticed before gained audience from the govorning body there, he suggested increased trade between Trokais and Rlyehckistan. Rumors of an agreement by the Trokais government to trade weapons to Rlyehckistan run rampant, but no one knows for certain."

"In other news today, the country of Animalaliaa has detonated an above ground bomb, rumored to be a neutron bomb. The Complete and Absolute ruler of Rlyehckistan has immediatly displayed his disgust in the nation for detonating the bomb where the fallout would ruin many square miles of the Edgewize sea's largest reef and ecosystem, removing a large amount of tourist and fishing revenue. He demands economic compensation of the lost revenue and ecology, or the heads of those responsible on a stick."

"Our satelite network has spotted a wepon shipment heading twoards Rylechistan. we are currently awaiting for the dictator of Trokais to explain to us this matter.

"I am aware of the weapons shipment and i have nothing to hide. Like i stated my country has internal problems and I don't see the problem of trading in order to boost up my nation's economy. I have no intention of going to war or supporting a nation at war until my nation's internal problems are solved. This should take another 3 or 4 days. I am not required to give any further explanations as it is my buisness what I trade with who. Which reminds me... the WNN has NO right whatsoever to spy my trade ships. Can you people explain to me your actions?"

*The room becomes silent and WNN reporters are wordless*

"I thought so. If your satelites shall apy on me again i shall see to it that the UN hears about this. I have no further statements to make. Meeting dissmissed!"

And that was the declaration of the ruler of Trokais. UN has assured the trokais ruler that the WNN satelites will never be used with this purpose again with any other country, and that the satelite opperators will undergo trial.

Today, the small nation of Narsindish, well known for political freedoms and its awe-inspiring population of feather dragons has risen to the rank of Ambassador within the Warboardlands. What effect this may have has yet to be decided among anylysts. Her economy, wich was stable, has taken several hits, the Cairnsin has dropped in value. Many beleive this to be based on a rather inferior batch of ink that has severely lessened the quality of the currency to the users of the botched money....

"Earlier this week a uranium deposit was discovered in the southwest region of Surbrin. This uranium promises to enrich the nation but it has brought up an issue, what shall we do with the forest that resides on top of it?" the reporter turns one of his pages, "Today we have three guests: the Nukes4U CEO Zeke Dredd; Green politician May Mombota; the government's Minister for Mining, Clear-Felling, and the Environment Joshua Turner. Welcome to the show"

"Good to be here," they all say in unison.

"We'll start with Mr. Dredd," the reporter says, the view flashes to the man.

"This is a terrific find! It will provide an enormous stimulus to our economy and create thousands of new jobs. It's win-win! All we need from the government is permission to bulldoze the forest that's on top of the deposit."

"You've got to be kidding, this rainforest is thousands of years old! This country needs more environmental protection, not less. And to destroy the environment in order to mine uranium that then goes into nuclear bombs--well, that really sticks in my craw," blurts May Mombota

"There's no need for an either-or decision. We can preserve most of the rainforest and allow mining of a small part. After all, think of all the good that the money from this uranium deposit can bring to Surbrin," the minister calmly replies.

The government soon chooses to demolish a small portion of the forest with the richest deposit. Amidst the chaos of the bulldozers, protestors throw rocks and attack guards. Fourteen people were arrested that day.

Subsequently the government increases the funding for the police and military for the next year due to increasing military tension amongst the nations of Warboards Land.

(much ooc: Alright, for the most part, everyone tends to get about the same issues, so you don't really need to bring them up here. If the issues ran what happens in this RP then we would all be relativly the same except for different issues. Everyone would have discovered uranium... also your rank doesnt really mean anything. The only country you can possibly hope to pass is me, because I'm not in the UN and you are only going to pass the others in front if you become delegate, so for the most part, everyone will stay the same.)

The president of the Most Serene Republic of Lornecr issued a statement today. This statement was neither cryptic nor long, but short and hate filled. According to official reports, someone farted in his breakfast and ruined his favorite garden... and left the mark of Narsindish and Rylechistan in place of the burning ruins.

The statement issued was this, "I'm angry". The president then asked Congress for a declaration of war on Narsindish and for a meeting with the leader of Rylechistan. In response to this message, Lornecr's military forces (numbering around 20,000) on the Lornecr-Narsindish border mobilized and gained a small foothold in Narsindish.

No word yet from Rylechistan or Narsindish as to the result of these requests.

<Darmago>The only trade embargo on my mind right now is Animalaliaa, and I beleive that this conflict with Narsindish should be done with the least amount of bloodshed. I suggest that you hold onto what you have now, and enter negotiations with their leaders. This would minimize the cost of lives

To much applause, the Emperor of The Chaos Element steps up to the podium.

"Fellow Chaosians! Today is a day. A day of choice. Recently, we have found a large ammount of uranium, and decided to begin mining. Also, we have found large supplies of Titanium, a new deadly weapon. We ask you, shall we strike now against our enemies, or wait?" The voting began...

In the end 57% asked for the war to start and43% asked for no war. "It is decided. We will strik Pemmsylvania tommorrow." But he could not go further, because a Pemmsylvannia bombing raid hit the capital that moment.

Everyone dived for cover, but within seconds, the Chaos air force was out, and they chased the Pemmsylvanians out. Now, they were out for revenge, preparing to bomb the Pemmsylvania Capital. Victory would be soon..at least they thought.

The dictator of Trokais has just made this announcement.

"Trokais no longer has internal problems thus my nation shall now be able to aid it's allies.

I am aware that anarchists have attacked Lornecr. Although I am not aware as to where they come from, my information agency has intercepted a telephone call refring to this issue. I have already located the anarchists and my nation's security tried to capture them. 2 were found. When my nation's police arrived the two anarchists which were around 31 years old started a firefight. My security responded accordingly. One of the two died during the firefight, the otherone managed to flee, although he is the most important criminal my country currently pursues. Pictures and information about it were sent to the borders and security has increased. 7 armed men can't get out of the country, so it is just a matter of time and i assure you that we will do our best to capture him."

The president of the Most Serene Republic has issued a demand to the governing body of Narsindish. This demand is as follows: turn over all relevant information regarding the crime and step up measures to reduce riotting, and all 20,000 soldiers and their equipment will be recalled. Refusal to comply will result in further land being taken by the Lornecrian expeditionary force.

In other news, a trade fleet was sent to Magmaniaca in hopes of gaining trade rights. A decree of support has also been dispatched to Pemmsylvania, and messages asking for the right to move troops through waters and lands to get to Pemmsylvania.

I have decided to hand him over to you and let you decide his faith. He is currently in a very high security penitenciary, and a convoy is ready to take him to the border. I just need to know when you are willing to send an escort to take him from the border to your capital.

The parliment and President of Narsindish agreed flatly with all terms presented to them. All of the information they had was transported by plane, by dragon, by foot, by humvee, or any unarmed method of transportation was used to send several exact copies of revelant information.

Local police forces in the Narsindish-Lorcener border have set up recruiting posters and have stepped up patrols and riot police dispersals.

Sorry I messed up in my previous post. Here a redo:

"Today is the day! We strike! The Pemmsylvanians will see us coming, but will not be able to stop us. Our police forces have been stepped up and nucleur bombs are in production, due to be done in about three months. Our air force is sending a task force of a squadron, 6 fighters, and 3 bombers. They will bomb critical Pemmsylvanian locations, such as the capital, generators, important buildings, and military locations. We will do our best to not kill any civilians, but we cannot promise. Along with the planes, three infantry divisions and four squadrons of tanks (five tanks per squadron, fifty soldiers per division). We hope they surrender quickly, and do not make us fight them. We will be allies or at peace afterwards, and they will help us...or die.

At the moment, our forces are low, so we are recruiting, and if not enough volunteers come, a draft will begin. Currently, we are sending several alliance proposals out, but we cannot count on allies. Also, several Guerilla camps have been found in enemy territory. We are sending diplomats to talk. And, tommorrow is a day for celebration. It is our independance day, so enjoy!"

With that, the emperor of the Chaos Element stepped down from the podium and went to his private office. Tommorrow would be a day of death...

The nation of Narsindish, sees the chaos element's attacks as "Unsanctioned" and her legendary airforce of 60-high performance fighters and 20 bombers with lighting speed have launched from airfields across the nation and mobilizing with unheard of speed towards the founder of the region. At the same time the president and parliment extend their hand of alliance towards Pemmsylvania.

On the ground 2 divisions of mechanized infantry-again legendary for lightning fast strikes-are idling right at the begginning of an attack corridor towards the flank of the Chaos element attack.

Today Narsindish has declared full out war on the Choas element.

To 100th Lurker: Well, thats just dandy...

Seeing Narsindish's quick response, the Chaos elements prepares it fame and glory...the jeep squad 101. The Jeep Squad consists of 101 Jeeps, lightning quick with anti-aircraft guns, anti-infantry, and anti-tank guns. Although weak, they strike fast and inflict many casualties. These Jeep squadrons and 50 fighters escorting a heavily armed Zeppelin ,new but old, and 30 divisions of infantry, and to top it off, five tank squadrons. These are sent to stop the Narsindish, while the rest attack the Pemmsylvanians.

The Emperor said the the Guerillas are preparing to strike too, and that their attack was justified, only wanting to capture and ally with Pemmsylvania.

Sagattar’s regionally feared Air Force is in rout to The Chaos Element. Spy satellites have already located critical military buildings, and Anti-Aircraft emplacements. The Segetten Air Force, along with that of Narsindish will be able to easily destroy these locations before the enamy can retaliate.

*the scene switches from Arthen to a podium, the Rlyehckistani absolute Ruler is standing at a podium*
"Today is a day of new beginnings. The Chaos Element has attacked our region's founder and shall pay for thier arrogance, and feel the wrath of the Rlyehcistani armed forces. This shall also cement our trade relationship with Trokais."
*The Ruler presses a button on the podium, and the scene is switched to a view of over 100 ships, each launching a plethora of cruise missiles. The Ruler's voice is heard over the scene*
"As you may notice, these are Trokain cruise missiles, launched from Trokain Missile Launchers, each heading towards a different millitary target INSIDE of The chaos element."
*the scene switches back to Arthen*
"Arn't we glad that hes Our Ruler!" *Obey flashes briefly on the screen*

Gosh am I busted. All I did was send a small force to one place. ONE! WHY ME?

Noticing the crisis the Chaos Element is in, they begin recalling their troops. They set up a heavily fortified defensive permimeter all around their country, made up of heavy machine gun bunkers, anti-aircraft guns, artillery, several tanks, camoflauge, mortars, snipers, rifleman, titanium armor plating on all vehicles and buildings, and to top it off, the Guerillas were constantly striking the incoming troops. But nevertheless, they would still be annihalated, so they needed a plan.

"HELP! ANY COUNTRIES THAT CAN HEAR US HELP!!!" The Chaos Element sent out a distress signal, and hoped that it was heard. That was when they saw the missles. Instantly, anti-aircraft guns and heavily armored laser cannons came out of the ground everywhere, preparing to shoot down the missles. A massive smoke screen was projected, covering the entire country and stopping many planes and missles dead in their tracks. The smoke would last long enough to build a colony..that they hoped no one would ever find.

But as the men peered out from smoke-filtering goggles, they saw the incoming army. They amplified the distress signal and hoped to be saved. AS the soldiers watched, several enemy troops fell from Guerilla soldiers and Chaos snipers. Striking quick and fast, more troops fell, but there were still too many.

It was decided the Jeep squadron would attack, splitting up into three groups to attack the left, right, and back. They would most likely be the Chaos Element's last hope...

“It will be a hard time, but it is for the benefit of the region, thank you,” the President of Surbrin closes his eyes and the camera fades to black.

The nation of Surbrin declared war on Chaos Energy after much consideration from Congress. They deemed that their unprovoked attack on Pemmsylvania was an act of terrorism and that Chaos Energy poses a serious threat to the safety of not only the citizens of Surbrin, but the citizens of every nation residing in Warboard’s Land. A division of troops and a regiment of mechanized infantry (10,000 men and roughly 2000 tanks etc) were dispatched from military Air Force Bases located around Surbrin, by means of transport planes, to land on the Pemmsylvania-Chaos Element border.

The flight will take anywhere from six to eight hours (longer for those with tanks). Once the troops land they will set up and wait for the President to confer with the other nations at war with Chaos Element as to what should be done. No tactical missiles will be used, to reduce the amount of civilian casualties. Surbrin calls for a meeting of all the leaders involved in this conflict so that they may figure out who will be doing what.

“Rodger that Archon 5, we have the target in our sights.”

“Good. Is it ready to be fired?”

“Yes sir, the coordinates are set, and the generators are at max capacity.”

“Very good, fire when ready.”

“Firing in 3 . . 2. . 1 . . . “

Suddenly, a giant beam of light erupted from the orbital station, smashing into The Chaos Element. Total devastation was all that remained, and there was no possible chance of survivors.

“Target annihilated, the GM-Anti-Nation-High-Powered-Lasor-Station-Orama shutting down.”

“Owned, noob.”

Due to the recent events, Sagattar is claiming it was not responsible for the recent attack. A third party was responsible, and Sagattar had completely no control over it. At all.

Lornecr's military, in response to the events involving Pemmsylvania's assault and Chaos Element's quick retaliation and subsequent destruction, was severely pissed to have missed the attack. In consolation, the Most Serene President has offered to give whatever aid the new occupiers of the Chaos Element's land, Inikas, may need.

All planes carrying Surbrin troops are recalled to their air fields. The president expresses remorse for the innocent lives lost in Chaos Element, but he feels grateful to have the threat removed. The citizens of Warboard's Land are now safer because of the destruction of the rouge nation. Surbrin focuses now on securing their borders and quelling the occasional violent protest.

The Empire of Magmaniaca broke it's isolationist policies today when it accepted trade ships from Lornecr, and sent diplomats to Trokais, Innikas, and Rlyehckistan.
Why this sudden change in policy occurred has been pointed to some at a secret military coup, but all the people of Magmaniaca are told is that they should be patriotic and loyal to the empire.

In light of certain... intercepted telegrams, the Most Serene President of Lornecr made a statement. This statement was that Rylechistan, no matter the enemy nor time, would always have the support of Lornecr and her people.

In other news, petitioners in west and southern Lornecr have asked, sometimes with violence and riots, that they should be allowed semi-autonomy. Heated debates soon followed, eventually reaching a bill to be signed by the president. He was reported to be so "bloody pissed the hell off" that he lit the bill on fire, tied it to a rock from one of his gardens, and threw the burning paper out of his window--without opening it--into the crowd of protestors. He left his office to address the crowd, and offered the following: "When in the course of Lornecr's history, that people ask for autonomy, there should be much discussion. There was much discussion, eventually reaching me, and I have given you all an abrupt 'No.' Now, I'm only going to ask you nicely once. Get off my property, and go back to your farms. If I even slip just once and give ANY region semi-autonomy, next thing they'll be asking for is independence, and I can't let that happen. I'm sorry if I injured anyone with the rock. Now move before I unleash my military."

In record timing, the protestors fled with a detachment of the president's personal guard keeping track of their movements.

Top scientists and millitary advisors are looking in to studying the secrets locked within these installations..."
The Screen freezes, with a smile still on the newscasters face.
"How did this news leak occure?" bellowed a man who stod in front of a meeting table. this table, and the board of peoples it seated, were built in a underground and underwater base, the most secure in all of Inikas.
"Well, we believe that there was a mole implanted in the excavation team..."
"Damn Chaos Cultists...always trying to reawaken thier old leader and scociety. Well, we have to fiund that mole. And when you do..." The general turned away towards the door, "Bring him directly to me. We cant let the rest of the government know about any failures in this project."

The Constitutional Monarchy of Anamalaliaa has anounced that they have made major break throughs in the area of robotics. having achieved almost complete AI.

"Using Asimovs Laws of Robotics we can virtually guarantee that the robots will work with us to further peace and stability. And to that end rest assured they will not be used towards a war time means."

Also announced is the Launch of their space vehicle for what the Ambasador to the region calls "Purely scientific means."

The great nation of Magmaniaca announces today that it will be holding the first annual Olympic Games in it's capital city of Pyrel next month in an effort to strengthen the bonds between all countries.
Any nations wishing to participate should apply soon.
Events will include not only physical competitions such as soccer and sex, but other types of competition such as music, mathematics, and debates.

In a move not seen since the rebelions of 1259 A whole country in one fell swoop was conquered and brought under the control of another through social and political upheval. The country that was previously un named that layed to the west of Anamalaliaa today was absorbed into the land of Anamalaliaa. Sources confirmed that the parlament has voted unanimously to allow them to join the monarchy wich is of course "in their best interests." Protests were held in the streets of the country but its heavily armed police force was quick to fell the violence.

"We have asked the police of our new friends to quell the violence believing that if we do they will simply believe this as a hostile take over, which of course it is not." The Queens advisor was noted as saying.
