What kind of medieval/fantasy, weapon/weapons would you rather use?

I myself would most likely chose dual-elven scimitars, or a Katana.
Or a Huge fire-engulfing scimitar that would know as a, Dragon Blade.

Or a classic long sword.

This incredible huge sword know as the Flamberge, was used by the German Land Knights during 1600´s In the war against Sweden. Unfortnately this sword never saw much use because of Its clumsiness.
But still Its a small prize to pay for a sword that can deal incredible forcesive blows.

Classic Long Sword.
The common sword in the Realms.
The long sword was very wide spread and common weapon In Europe during the dark ages. It was wielded by Knights, Noblemen, Kings and even Common Warriors. The reason to It being so wide spread Is because of Its light weight and flexible fine quality blade.

Ninja-To
The tooth of the Ninja.
The ninja-to Is the preferred tool of the vicious Ninja, assasins of the night. Like the Katana, Its a long sword with a fine quality. Although the ninja-tos are not so fine qualited as the katanas, the are still very deadly and effective. Instead of having a curved blade, the ninja-to has a more straight blade. This allows It to be more suited for backstab in closed areas, rahter than open fields which the katana has been adapted for.

Double-Edged Katana.
An alternative version of the katana. Which has dual edges rather than a single edge. It wasn´t a too common weapon In the Empire, It was used by very few samurais. The double edge allows the sword to become much more deadly than the orginal. Some special body guards were known to use these swords. The weapon was also known to be used by warrior skilled ladies.
The mesurements and weight are about the same as a standard Katana.

The mighty sword of Sephiroth Is a special version of the Masamune katana that ranges about 4ft In lenght, and has been enchanted by powerful magick. The magick increases the damage and sharpness of the blade, which enables It kill much easier than It normally could. The magick of the blade also only allows Sephiroth to wield It, and no else. Nay, the flamberges kind of annoyed me. I never found a half-decent one, and I usually used one-handed weapons, so I regarded them as basically useless :p. And there was that one unique flamberge, what was it, Kinem's Awl or something like that. It was so pointless X_x.

Well, I am having a thing for spears lately. Personally, one weapon isn't good enough for me. I have to have:
Spear
Longsword or Katana (don't matter)
Two short swords or dual wakishazis (again, doesn't matter)
One curved dagger (like Aragorn has in LotR)
Probably a couple knives here and there.

A true fantasy weapon are not any medieval weapons that have been mentioned here. They are all real or can be crafted if one took the time. A fantasy weapon should be something that is otherworldly. Think of magical properties.

I really can't think of a fantasy weapon that I like from anywhere. I'm more science fictiony and I would choose the lightsaber anyday.

I'd need to have a small arsenal of weapons:
Compound bow, possibly with a two little servents carrying a fire pot to get some flaming arrows in there.
Bola - If nobody knows what that is, its something the Mamadukes of the Middle East used, consisting of a long thick rope with weights on either end, and they would twirl it around, either using it as a flail or as a throw weapon that would wrap around an enemies arms, legs, or neck.
Quarter Staff/Bojitzu Rod (spelt wrong I think, but its the art of staff fighting)
Two small sabers
Throwing knives

I am a fan of both the Katana and No-Dachis, and also some of the other sword types. I prefer the shorter lighter blades to the larger varietys. Anyway, like others, i would have a full complement of weapons, though excelling in blades and throwing weapons. Ninja stars (shiruken) being a favourite, along with balanced knifes.

As a ninja, i prefer closer quaters fighing and stealth. Suprise and speed are our best weapons.

I would chose such long Japanese Samurai sword. Those Samurai are very fast and are able to kill someone much bigger than themselves in just a few moments. They (the swords + the Samurai) look cool.

THat´s probably the way of monks or Ronin(Outcast Samurais).

The real Samurai only lived to serve the empire.
They were merchaneries.

On some images he uses a Masamune and on other images he uses a Nodachi.
So no one truely knows.

Forcesive slashing damage.

It has a 31 inch long blade that can deal very lethal blows.
And Its handle Is about 11 inch, which Is quite long.
But Is nessecary to be able to swing the blade properaly.

The blade Itself Is made of fine quality steel which ranges between, 500-700 layers of steel.

Sephiroths kind of this sword, Is magical in nature.
And only he can wield It.
The magic of the blade also allows him deal much more
powerful blows then It normaly could.

Those are pretty sweet. It would be awesome if they had straps so you could attach them to your forearms instead of having to hold them, that would be nasty.
