I think the problem with offering merch from Warboards, is that there isn't much original merchandise you can offer. I mean, I can't see myself buying, or even wearing for that matter, a t-shirt that says Warboards on it. I usually wear band t-shirts and dress shirts anyway.

But, if you managed to offer say. . . hit videogames at discounted price, or cool gadgets that aren't really offered anywhere else, I might be a wee bit interested. Of course, there's still the credit card problem, and I've never been a huge PayPal fan :p.

In short, not really.

Yea, throw me in for something. If it's cheap, and looks good, I'm in. A T-shirt would be pwnage.

'Warboards' on the front and on the back something like...

'Demon_Child's slave' or something... Or 'Broken off, but not broken apart' or something cheezy like that... T-shirts would be the best suggestion I could come up with. Seeing as how I'm going to college soon, I need new clothes. And if you make the shirt, do it in forum colors or something. I don't want a red shirt, when the forums I visit are loosly based on silver o.O

Ironic you should bring this up, AJ, 'cause it was only last week that the idea of WarBoards T-Shirts had occurred to me :)

The only real suggestion I have for now is not to choose a design that is "overly geeky"... I'd feel stupid walking around in a shirt with WarBoards splayed all over it with cheap Blizzard game pictures. :/

Well, if they plan to do these t-shirts themselves, the design should be incredibly simple. I've pressed a few t-shirts before and it gets really annoying if the design is more complex than a few images and maybe 2 or three colours. Blegh, and then the glue always runs and you have to peel the excess glue without injuring the actual image. It took a few tries to get in the groove of t-shirt making, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple.

Anyway, I digress. Usually the simpler images turn out better on t-shirts and hoodies, so it's a general rule of thumb not to do anything too crazy (ie. avoid heavy usage of filters and such). It's also a good idea to plot your image on a blank t-shirt image (google 'blank t shirt' or something along those lines) to get an idea of how it will turn out like in this image:

I made a t-shirt with that design a while ago, and it turned out pretty well when I actually pressed it. I don't have a copy of the t-shirt anymore, otherwise I would take a picture and show you guys the end result.

Anyway, good luck to whoever's making the shirts ^_^. I may have a go later on when I have some time (ie. month and a half'ish).

I'm not deliberately trying to be an arsehole here, but I'm trying to think of this as a marketable item; not just something a few select people will want.

Aside from T-shirts, I'd be more than happy to purchase a coffee mug with a WarBoards logo (when we eventually get one made). I think we're all a bit mature for stickers and temporary tattooes, but how about considering WarBoards logo beer-holders?

Presently it looks like AJ will be in control of everything from production to distribution to receiving payment, so if you're Canadian I'd say your chances of being able to get some merchandise (provided it's made) are quite good.

I'll might think about getting Demonic Inc. and Carnage Productions into this so that we could possibly add some Plush Dolls of the Demon Knights, however the only problem is the copywrite laws for Carnage and PChicky's character, but I think we can manage with everyone else. We could also have JAD comics like Drunken Jousting, Dating Service Videos, Late Night with Carnage printed on the back of t-shirts and sweatshirts with the Warboards insignia (whenever we can get one) printed on the front.

I have plenty more ideas running through my mind about merchandising than I care to type out for the public to read. ;)

Hoodies would be nice, but I don't think those would sell to well, seeing as most of them are $30-$40. Boxers, well, I'm indifferent about those, but I think some people would get a kick out of it.

How about mouse pads? Is that do-able? And how about two types of mouse pads: the normal, all flat kind, and the kind that have that comfort-wrist-gell stuff.

I'm not too sure about most of the JAD comics, just because they all involve members and people that are known only to those in a small, somewhat secluded internet community, and aren't exactly the most popular real life figures ; )

I am not trying to burst your bubble but there are only around 100-200 people who post actively. Out of those people only a small number can actually buy stuff. Out of those people only a very small amount of people will be likely to buy more then 2 items. Maybe the pens and pencils idea would work but anything that might cost more than 10 dollars is not a realistic probability.


Also what will all the money be used for. I know some of it will go for the materials, shipping and stuff but what about the rest? Will there even be money left over?

when i came back here a couple of weeks ago i was surprosed that there wasnt already stuff to buy. im all for it. i would definately buy a tshirt or 2 (as long as the price isnt more than $12 usd each), a mouse pad, or a sew on patch. i would get a calendar cuz i dont use calendars and i would end up throwing it away.
