I really don't like playing BW. Most of my roomates don't either. Thats why on our lan we only play starcraft. Most sites that have replays are BW. My question is, where can I go to download starcraft replays of pros at tournys?

Thanks.

I don't think the pros play old starcraft in tourneys due to its imbalances favoring zerg. Someone else might know where to find them though. But I really suggest you trying BroodWar, the new units really solidify the balance between the 3 races.
What dont you like about BW?

You're not gonna be able to find regular starcraft replays easily. No pros play regular starcraft anymore, and BW is just the same as Starcraft just a little more fun and balanced. Like Baracus said what don't yuo like about it?

I once got stuck w/o BW for a while and was forced to try to find starcraft replays for a while. It's pretty much impossible. Everyone plays BW nowdays so finding any starcraft replays is not going to be easy.

Well the biggest thing is not being able to get the spawned copies of SC to be able to play BW. We have five guys with two SC cds and only one BW cd. Most of us who are playing are pretty new to this game, but find that SC is pretty balanced and are concerned what alterations would do to what we think is an already balanced game.

The other thing is my BW cd might be damaged. When I try to play BW replays (I have BW installed) my monitor goes black as if it was trying to load the replay and it just stays black. Then an error message comes up saying that it can't find the setup/install file even though the bw cd is in the cdrom drive. With that said, I can load and play BW with my cd just fine. I can even go on battlenet. Its just replays that don't work.

So as you can see its several things.

I'm sure this is not an idea you were looking for, but (atleast where I live) SC/BW is filthy cheap. Why not just buy a new copy?

Or just get an iso of it and burn a copy.

The BW alterations actually balance the game out more as well as adding new strategies. Also if you're just playing on lan (and not B.net) you can use the same CD-Key to install starcraft and brood war on each computer. Since it's lan it doesn't care about your cd-key.

As for replays to see if it's your CD use this (http://bwprogrammers.com) to launch starcraft w/o the cd and see if it works. It may be that you just have a corrupted install.

Also if you watch BW replays and play Sc the strats are a bit different and you might get ocnfyused and not learn anything

you can buy 4 copies of sc AND bw with less than what most new games are.

This piss me off, when i see WC 3 is more expensive than SC, it makes me think that SC is shit comparing to WC 3, but it isn't..

huh, how does it make you think that? SC is older that's for sure but the way people are drawn in is by the sheer popularity, people talking about the game is very good advertisement for sc that's for sure.

But ofc sc is less expensive when it smaller file older game...
