Hi, I know most of you don't like fastest money maps, but when my friends and I play, we just like to play for fun, not to improve our skill.

Anyway, we have found that if both enemies are protoss, one of us will be dead. I play zerg, my friends terran and random.

As zerg, I can sometimes defend one zealot rush, but if both players come at me, I loose. It seems unfair, 4 lings cost the same as a zealot, but one zealot can kill 4 zerglings, easily.

Any one who plays fastest have a strategy or build order? thanks :)

Zerglings can run faster than zealots, try and run them around while your partner arrives with help I guess, also, if they go for your drones and stuff or buildings attack them until they attack back, and then run away again. Keep doing this until you make more zerglings or your partner arrives

4 zerglings beat a zealot man. in fact, i think even 3 lings beats a zealot.

The problem is getting all 4 lings to attack the zeal at once (ie, flanking). And if memory serves me correctly, fastest isn't all that great about flanking.

One un-upgraded zergling can survive 3 hits from an un-upgraded zealot.
So if you have the chance, focus fire on one zealot at a time, and as soon as a zergling receives hit, take him back, then attack with it again (the zealot will have shifted to another zergling).

Of course, this all works fantastic in theory, but is harder to pull off in a game. Plus if there are 8 zealots attacking, it's really hard to manage anything like that in time (3 zealots attacking one ling at the same time = zergling dead in 1 hit).

You'll just have to be sneaky. Run around like crazy, attack lone zealots with hit and run tactics.

Oh, or you could just not play money maps.

In fact, you say you don't play to improve, still you're here on this forum, asking questions about how to improve.

Bet you never thought about it like that, eh?

in fastest there are two strategies:
a) massive zealot
b) massive defence while doing something else

so just mass sunkens and build lurkerling or whatever.

ya. dosent really take skills in fastest. fastest is based around massing units the fastest, not microing 3 zlings to kill 1 zealot.

I haven't played fastest in ages but the few times I was zerg i used to build sunken near my drones and build several zergling as backups for when zealots were attacking the sunken

and if possible (time considdered) use hydra

Everything posted in this thread is retarded.

The way to counter against how you lost is for you and your ally to rally your troops the to center. This way, one of you can't get rushed by 2 people.. your force will always collide in the center. Controlling the middle of the map is a key strategy to any starcraft game, especially 2v2. If your combined force dies in the middle, you probly lose .. learn to build more troops faster.

Pfft.

I don't agree to that.

Of course, that's because I take what you said literally.
And you'll probably say you did. But you didn't.

No, you didn't.

that's not entirely true, the middle center of fastest maps is quite large...
you would have to spread out your forces to max oppupy the territory...
and being zerg v toss... it's hard to control the middleground early in a fastest.

then if you can't control the center ur gunna lose.. I seem to remember hearing that double P was the best team on money maps.

Boo-hiss on money maps anyway.
I feel sorry for myself, having wasted so much time playing them.
Going from fastmaps to normal maps is, in many ways, like starting to play SC/BW for the first time.
