when i try to connect via modem to a friend it say it cant initialize network, whats wrong with it?

is your friend on broadband? (aka cable or dsl?)

I know I mean are you using a modem and he's using like broadband?

If not you may not have your modem configured correctly. Most people here use cable or dsl so you may not find alot of help. I'd suggest looking in the starcraft support area of blizzard.com and see if there's not a solution there.
