For some of you that heard about the rumors about StarCraft II, you heard that it will have weather, acid rain; improved graphics, 3-D & advance game engine; 6 races, new units; and many other things you might heard and want to share. Addition rumors about the races, there will be an Xel'Naga race and a Hybrid race, the Protoss will act like terrorist (some lost their pride after losing their homeworld ), the Terran will be more nomadic and have increase technology, and the Zerg will be a little like the hybrides. That's what I remember hearing.

Is that what's everyone is expecting on StarCraft II or do you think they are bad ideas?

i dont like the acid rain

"This week on Tarsonis, 12.5% chance of acid rain! Any units near death had better find shelter, and quick!"

Too much left to chance.

Where did you here about there being six races. That sounds like a horrible idea (unless 3 of the races are critters/ums or campaign only).

Acid Rain? That is dumb.

I like the differnt weather though, adds more strategy to your tactics. Rain, Shine, Fog....

6 Races? Thats a bit too much.

I hope they put some Easter Eggs into the game though.

If the game will be done, of course. I don't believe to this rumors.

XarthXio, of course the game isn't done or released. You don't have to beleive them, the main point of this thread is how do you like them, or if you want any of these rumurs to really happen.

O, for me. I would like to see how Blizzard could make the acid rain. Whether will make the game feel more realistic in my opinion.
The Protoss acting more like terrorists , that'll be funny. The Protoss Zealot should say "For Allah!". Not really, but eh.

More ideas (http://www.warboards.org/showthread.php?t=466)
I don't believe the guy, but they really sound good. Portable nukes?

Thats from that Starcraft Report animation the Muslim Zealot >_>

I say there should be rain or something on some worlds, like if they make a world with tons of water it will rain there whenever you play, or a trigger to make it rain or something

The link that leads to more ideas also has a whole ton of replies that attack those ideas in ways that I would, so i won't bother attacking them here... not to mention I'm too lazy to repeat what they've said and attack the comment over there.... so ya. XD

Just had to mention that though. >_>

Hmm...

Acid rain would be fine, it wouldn't just effect you but your opponent as well so it's not like it'd give the enemy any help against you. The battlefields being so small, in comparison to real life, makes it that the rain would be hitting all areas...

Anyway, to quiet those who would undoubtedly whine about such a things as hazardous weather, I'd suggest making it optional as to what weather your world can have. Just check a box when making the map if you wish that particular form of weather to have a chance of showing up.

*Rain (Prolly slow moment)
*Fog (Reduces sight range a great deal)
*Thunderstorms (with or without lightning which could cause splash damage where it strikes)
*Snow Storms (Prolly hinder how far you can see depending on how bad, whiteout for example) Snow Terrain only
*Hail Storms (Cause minor damage to units) Snow Terrain only
*Acid Raid (Causes minor damage to units) Badlands Terrain only
*Sandstorm (Causes minor damage to units) Desert Terrain only
*Psi Storm (Causes minor damage to units) Twilight Terrain only, possibly Jungle as well

I donno, I'm sure there's more that could be done. As long as it's optional and effects everyone in game I don't see why anyone should have a problem with it. It adds both realism and a small added challange.

I think that Blizzard should model StarCraft 2 almost exactly after the original. I would feel uncomfortable playing starcraft with better-than War3 graphics.

i think 6 races would be kinda cool, but not all at the same time. the relationship between the player and his race would be a lot more closely knit, and it would make mastering all the races a lot more difficult.
