Great idea! It feels like the whole WB ladder has faded...maybe I'm wrong.
But this seems like an excellent idea. And the fact I'm even in the poll makes me feel part of this little community, which is a fuzzy and comfy feeling, that warms the depths of the most sacred place in my heart.

I'd say, given the choices, that a battle between nasty and babs would be most fitting. Last I saw they were both pretty close in skill level so it should be a decent game.

Rules:

-Poll will run till Sunday night at midnight. The 2 people with the highest votes will have until Thursday to play a best 3 out of 5 match (save replays please and post them in this thread), and then a new poll will be posted for the next opponent.

-The first map to play on will be Xel'Nagas Courtyard, created by Ahzz. Then the loser will choose after that, and it can be absolutely any non-money map that they choose as long as the size is at least 96x96 and no larger than 192x192, and as long as the map wasn't made by the "decider," which means you could choose any PGT, WGT, Blizzard, Pro, or user-created maps. Also, I encourage people to make maps for the King of the Hill and if I find it a reasonably balanced map, it will become the first map in one of the King of the Hill matches. Right now, the only user maps we have are Ahzz's and mine, which are linked at the bottom of this post. My map will be used as the first map for the 2nd KotH match, so everyone has plenty of time to make, edit, and perfect their own map for submission in following KotH matches.

-If someone d/c's and there is disagreement on if the game should be replayed, post the replay here, and I will decide if someone had a decisive advantage, or if it needs to be replayed.

Could you people please stop talking about Ahzz and Lammy? They're not in this poll for a reason. Because if one of them were to win KotH, there would be noone that could compete for KotH in the next round (other than 1 of them). I will introduce higher skilled players into each new round for the voting of who plays in KotH. Ahzz and Lammy will be the last ones added (probably in Round 4) because they are the highest skilled players here. It wouldn't be much of a KotH if we always had the same 2 people fighting with no chance of anyone else dethroning the king. Understand now?

Here's how it works: Whoever wins this match between Babs and U-238 will be the King of the Hill (KotH). After this match, we will all vote for someone to play against the new King-- an entirely new poll will be created for this and everyone will vote for a new challenger.

Siege, Since you express an interest in playing I'll be sure to include you in the next poll, but the only way you can play for KotH title is if you win the vote for any given week. There will be 1 vote per week, so whoever is King is expected to defend his title once a week against whoever the forumers vote to play against him.

I said I'd like them to finish the first match by Thursday (there is some leniency here...not like I'm gonna send a hitman after them if they're not done by then...if it takes till the weekend to play it, then so be it). That's when I'll put a new poll up and we will vote for 3 days, which is when the poll will close and the new KotH challenger will be finalized.

1st game: Just some basic ZvZ. Nothing spectacular but a good game nontheless.

2nd game: Babs used the "loser pick map" rules to put a real spinner on me and picked a map I'd never heard of. My macro was terrible due to the fact that I used intensive micro against babs sairs. The first time I ever won with mutas. (usually had to hive tech and move to ultra/ling.)

3rd game: I'm kinda proud of this one. After not playing terran for nearly 3 months I managed to play better than I ever had before. Macro suffered a little at points but it was enough.

All in all they were pretty decent games. Babs played a little better than I expected him to.

EDIT: GAAHH! The replay sizes are too big! I'll have to find a hosting site somewhere I guess. I'll have em up soon.

I noticed the last update of bwlauncher changed some settings in Penguin Plug. It enabled two options that I normally have off, which are recording replays in first person (this is what makes the filesize large) and viewing replays in first person (which I just find annoying).

To turn these options off, double click the penguin in your system tray, expand the -Replay section and uncheck fprecord and fpplay.
