Is this a good tactic;
Mass Archers, nothing else just archers ?

No, you'd get slaughtered without a doubt. Mix them up with some hunts and a kotg, then you'd be able to have a good tier 1 attack.

If this is a team game and your allies are getting melee units early on, it can work. However, you'll want to use a PotM to boost the archer's damage and deal with early threats as well. Also, add in some Faerie Dragons to deal with spellcasters, Druids of the Talon (DotT) for Faerie Fire on large units to kill them faster, and MG's to take damage. Also, a few Huntresses early on doesn't hurt.
u should go archers hunts to talons and claws and if its a team game and u got a cc map just tech to talons and claws

id say get a bunch of archers and make some hipps for anti-air thats it
Mass archer dott is one of the strongest 2v2 strats at at the moment with Beast Firelord or Beast panda.

I believe its archer, dryad, dott, and it works best with 2 orcs getting melee and 1 getting docs,1 getting shamans[shamans are AWESOME with archers].In fact massing archers with lust could take 10 bears down.
With nothing else but themselves archers are not good to mass

Lately when I've been drawing NE and none of my teammates are adamant about their unit selections, I've been going with one AOW continually getting archers and then two AOL with mass bears. I get both of the archer upgrades and use a warden first and potm second. I try to keep around 8-10 archers who will FF any air units when they show up. I also make sure to get the hero dmg item that gives the warden the ability to hit air with normal attacks (the orc one is the best imo) and make sure to use fan'o'knives as well (at least I think they can hit air).
this allows you to hold your own in most cases and if your teammates fill in around you and you have a modicum of micro ability you should end up at the top of the scores when the game is over.
I suppose using some dotts and dragons could help, but I'd rather just leave that to my teammates for casters that way I can get more bears, faster and fully upped.

True, like there was this one time in a rt when a guy massed archers.I had bears and a guy had shamans.THAT MAKES ARCHERS OWN.We massed melee in that game had bears, tauren,i think wyrms and archers. Its Archer,Dryad,Dott and even if its not it works better because you go double aow in the beginning to pump archers and at tier 2 you get a aol and a aow and just pump everything. With and expo you can have a GIGANTIC army in 2 mins.
And one final question:Has anyone noticed that none of the greatest players get ups?I don't think there worth except maybe the first one.Its really only useful for stuff like chims and wyrms.

I tend to get upgrades on my units esp if I mismanage a pop building because I like to always being doing something micro/macro/creep etc. On tauren the defense upgrades are almost requirements. Ur trying to keep those things alive as long as possible while ranged and air take care of those attacking your tauren.

However, a lot of gold can be saved if the population buildings are managed correctly. Thus, managing the buildings correctly yields a gold surplus which can then be used to make more units/tech, rather than upgrade the unit statistics. Upgrading statistics is never a first priority on my list; unless there is a long period of peace after a battle, where I'll upgrade my units with the surplus gold that I have.

Early in 1v1 games i do this.
1- 4 wisps to gold.
2- 1 wisp to altar. Build Hero as soon as possible. PotM if against NE. DH if against Orc. (Not sure about others.
3- First wisp to Moonwell.
4- Next wisp to mine.
5- Keep putting wisps on trees till you have enough for Hunters Hall. Then build it.
6- Build a Ancient of War. Keep your amount of wisps high.
7- Build annother Moonwell.
8- Build annother Ancient of War.
9- Start Building Huntresses.
10- Keep your food high. Keep building Wells.
11- After awhile add in archers. Sooner for against undead and orc. Later for human. Alot Later for against NE.
Well that all the help i can give you.

What's Macro?
building buildings, putting workers to work, creating new units, managing tech, expansion timing. I consider it pretty much anything that doesn't involve the actual combat with enemies or creeps.
IOW, Macro means something that happens at a grand level.
