I found this video on YouTube.com. It started a lot of controversy there.

It is a little scary what modern weapons can do....

I don't see the controversy, the Airmen (I think it was the Air Force in this, but I might be wrong) followed procedure and got authorization, and killed the enemy when they were in the act of planting an IED. What is scary is when that doesn't happen and then Soldiers, Marines, and Airmen are sent back in bags or without limbs.

I dont see the controversy behind that. What happened at Guantanamo Bay is controversy. And totally fucked up on all levels

What weapon is that?

OMG!! OMG!! OMG!! OMG!! OMG!! A small precentage of prisioners have been "abused". The terrorists have killed our soldiers had their burned broken bodies drug though the streets so they could be spit on, kicked and then they were strung up. Then you have the audacity to say that

b. Threatening detainees with a charged 9mm pistol Is worse than being shot to death

c. Pouring cold water on naked detainees;
Is worse than being COOKED in gasoline

e. Threatening male detainees with rape;
What the fuck... threatening...

h. Using military working dogs to frighten and intimidate detainees with threats of attack, and in one instance actually biting a detainee.
MWDs are frequently used to subude prisoners that are resisting.

Now I'm not saying that we are within our rights to "abuse" the prisoners, but I am a hell of a lot more pissed off about the dead Marines being dragged through the streets, than I am about a couple incidents of abuse/tortue.

You know I understand that but some of that stuff is screwed up. I respect what the soldiers do. I respect them a lot. Seeing what they go through over there fighting for our freedom. They go through a 1000 times worse shit than we do while we sit here on our asses theyre fighting for our country. And you know what? People that hold antiwar protests at soldier's funerals should all burn in hell.

I got a sense of dread when watching that video. But after reading your guys comments, it kinda made me feel better.

I really had no idea what they were doing the whole time during the video. Something about weapons dealing.

They identified a threat, got clearance, and eliminated the threat. Sounds like they did their job to the letter.

Some people on YouTube called them cowards. What the hell?

Azn: It looked to me like they wer eplanting weapons or preparing an ambush, or osmething along those lines. Why would you get a sense of dread?

You mean an IED?

Spartan-II

Yeah, that's what I meant. I forgot about the little description box, actually.

It's not it was three innocent guys all out having a picnic, they were preparing an IED to KILL or MAIM American forces.

I'm just guessing that it is an IED, could have been an ambush or a weapons deal, but I seem to remember seeing a video like that in BMT and a TI telling us it was an IED.

Now that i think about it, i really have no idea why i said "gave me a sense of dread". Dam clueless now, probbaly a impulsive thing to use a word that didnt fit with what i'm saying.

I personally don't find that clip controversial at all. I can understand how some people would have a whinge about it, but I can't say I'd agree with them.

Nor do I. Most of the commenteers were whining about "The guy wasn't even holding the weapon." or "They could of just captured the wounded man!" (Despite the fact he was half blown to peices) and some stuff about invading Iraq in the first place.

What weapon is that?

Whatever it was, I wouldn't want to be on the recieving end of it.:P

Damn filters! I can't see it what happened? I remember seeing one from a drone where insurgents were launching mortars at the gree zone and got hit by a Mavrick AGM. Good stuff.

I believe that it was a .50 cal, but I'm not a weapons expert.

I would really doubt the accuracy of a 50.cal at that range. It could have been a mile!

If you noticed, it wasnt very accurate at all... but they still got them... thats what sprays are for.

What weapon is that?
That was a 30mm automatic Boeing M230 Chain gun, fired from a US Apache Helicopter.

I didn't think it was controversial either.

To me, it looked like a big video game......Am I alone when I say this? I know it's war and I know it's real--But looking through what they were looking through reminded me of like Ghost Recon or MGS.

I'm proud of our soldiers--They did their jobs and they did it to the book. They didn't just go and kill them just because they could.

Ppl need to stop tripp'n >.< (i.e. YouTube)
