I don't remember the missions, but since the Blizz CPU is rather easy to take out (I know, it wasn't so easy when I first played the missions...) it's just a question of what race you are, what race(s) you're facing, and where/how many expansions are available.
Off the bat I can tell you this: You will need to expand. Ie, built another base, if nothing else for resource-gathering, somewhere else. You need to do this BEFORE your first base runs dry of resources. If the new expansion has both gas and minerals, that's great. But minerals only is still better than no resources at all.
Always keep your resources low, ie spend them, don't save them. And get lots of resources, by getting lots of workers. Unless you're zerg, build workers all the time. When an expansion is completed, move about half the workers to the new expansion.
Obviously you'll have to wait for 200 minerals/100 gas to build a factory, for instance, but don't save 2000 minerals and 1000 gas to start building 10 factories at once. Build one, and when it's done start pumping units from it. When your resources are growing again, despite your pumping, build another building or upgrade something. Basically this is what you do when playing real players...and that will most certainly work for the CPU.
And also, different units work better against some units, and worse against others. This is due to the unit sized and the type of damage made.
Blizzard has some list of this somewhere, I think...
Anyway...just felt compelled to write something. Good luck!

Well....blupp covered about evrything...and remember: Always make scvs never stop making them...
The last terran mission..eh?...well...have you tried tanks push with vessels to see ghosts and claked wraiths and goliath support...standard TvT that's what you do in multiplayer and it WILL work vs comps...i used it vs ahhz's AI(which is 20 times better then normal comp) and i won...it's easy mass tanks couple of goliaths against air units vessels to see ghosts...scv to repair units...and it's gg comp...
After u wipe out the 2 bases make dropships to fit your army in... D-Matrix them with vessels and attack cannon(build wraiths too if gols can't take care of BCs defending cannon)....
Rmember matty ahzzys ai is suited for TvP not TvT. It just doubles as best it can for that situation.
You are talkig about T10 not XT10 right? In thagt case go tank push (tanks + vults and golitaths) and hit the northern base. If you've got enough tanks you should be able to wipe out any opposition that they send at you. Once that base is secured start mining there. You should. hopefully, have gotten it before they ran their gas dry. While attacking make the steep climb to battlecruisers. Once you're settled in at your new base start about 3-4 starports and add towers to them and start building about 8-12 battlecruisers. (yes it's a noob strat but it's imperative to winning this mission) meanwhile back at your main start using your factories (you should have about 6 from when you build your tank push) and start making vultures from them while you use the starport at your main (you should have one from teching) to build dropships. Build about 3-4 dropships worth of vults and 3-4 dropships. The vults will be used to go in and take the brunt of the lockdown thus keeping your battlecruisers alive longer. If you get down making dropships and you're still building battecruisers start building science vessles from the starport you were building dropships out of. When you're ready move this entire orchestra up to where the cannon is. Use the battlecruisers yamato guns to take out the first line of turrets and hang them back a little just out of ghost range and fly your dropships in and drop on them. When your dropships are just a little past your battlecruisers fly them in to cause the real damage. If you did this right the ghosts will have wasted mos or all of their lockdown on your vultures. Use the science vessles to scan for the ghosts and pick them off with battlecruisers. Move twoards the higher plattform and use the yamatos to take out the turrets again and then sweep in and hit the cannon with everything you've got.

Oh lol no wonder i won... i went ranks push + scv for repair...4 goliaths(goz he made a couple of wraiths) meds to restroe lockdown vessels to see cloaked wraiths and ghosts....gg comp...of course the only thing he lacks for this strat in T10 is med and halo rocket upgrade...

Get vultures and lay down mines around the brown lower area where there's a large expansion, lay them at the entrances. Cloaked ghosts will come in but mines make minced meat of them.

A small hint - use Raynor to lay mines a further from to the right-hand entrance to your main base. Comp likes to say 'hello' there with a nuke in the first 15 minutes of the game. Other than this, push tanks + goliaths for the near base, and don't bother with the other one, just load 6-8 tanks + 4-6 goliaths + vultures/infantry (cannon fodder) and proceed directly to the cannon. Land on the left-hand edge of the platform - you will be able to unload all your troops before the Dropships get screwed (who cares, anyways) and proceed quickly to the cannon before the White Terran (Upper-right-hand corner base) begins to send his forces at you. Time from Deployment to Extraction: 30-40 minutes :)
Another solution to take out the near (Red) base is to swarm him with infantry. It takes a bit more time, but works as well. Just remember - the White will begin to push you with single BattleCruisers from time to time, so keep a few goliaths/or marines here and there, just in case.

i think if its the mission I remember, than you also need to tech the opponent, otherwise you'll get pretty messed up.

Huh, their strats acually work for campaign ^_^
But uhh, the campaign isn't really all that hard, specially original. I don't have any trouble with any of the levels :/
Personally I like to just tank/goli/vult vs white and then go for ion cannon, taking out red is too boring *yawn*
I go for the cannon with bcs cuz I don't want to build dships ^^

Its pretty easy, well actually not since it took me like 10 times to do it. But you will get a ahold of it.
dont fight the red terrans, build bunkers and turrets to defend against them. Immediatly put out bunkers and turrets, both on your west and east side of your base. And watch out for ghosts.
Builid up a tank and marine force and go to the center. This is the most important part of the level. This is were most of the enemys push there forces through so build a expo there and build plenty of turrets, bunkers and tanks. Expect to lose defenses here, so just rebuild.
How i took out the cannon was by building some battlecruisers and marines.I upgraded my marines fully and landed them near the cannon. I had them take out the ghosts and marines before sending in my bcs. Then i had the bcs take on the goliaths and tanks at top. Then send some goliaths to reinforce your attack on the cannon.
then you win.

Strat guide is crap:mad:
Yes and no.
I've always had trouble with computers for some reason, near the last mission on the zerg campain in expansion. I finaly gave up trying myself on "To Slay The Beast: Zer Mission 8" and went into the guide. In the mission there are 2 mineral areas around you, owned by the comp, one to the north and one to the east. I always attacked the north first... and it said attack the east one. I did, and I ended up winning without further help.
The guides have many words of wisdom.:P
:D thanks for the help guys after reading all the posts i am now going to go try the lvl again from scratch as by the looks of it i waited far to long to attack which might be the reason i am now just defending all the time.
lets see how it goes for this noob :P

For this mission, i just massed bcs. Didnt even bother with dropships or science vessels. Went there, yamatoed the Ion Cannon, and won.

I wonder how much the creators of SC know/knew themselves about the pros and cons of each race and their units. Since their own guide is considered crap by almost all players.
For instance, when SC came out, if you talked to one of the developers, would they tell you to avoid metal when facing Z (except tanks for lurkers)?
Would they recommend the tank push for T?
Would they tell you that muta/ling is one of the more powerful combos?
I get the feeling all the players, especially the pro's, have completely redefined starcraft from what the creators had ever thought of or dreamed of.

Think about this. When the developers .. developed the game, how much time did they have to examine indepth every race and machup? And how much time players had, well players had 8 years. And thats why paches come out to perfect balance, with changing costs and requirements.

Actually, the guide was made by prima, which is not blizz:P In that, they actually did suggest tank pushing, except not with vults but gols for aa.
