I was playing my bros 360 and i got bout 5 mins into a demo Quake 4 and then, boom a sound came out the tv speakers and black and green checkers whent over the screen, i told him and he said that its been going on like this for some time now, so he call the xbox pll and gave them info on wat was happen and the ask for his number on the xbox 360, he told them it and he found out they can tell, when you turn it on, when you play a game , wat game you played, how many times you pressed one button, the pic/movies/sound you put on, if its plug in to a wall or just a power cord, and much much more
now is that f-ing scary or what?
As long as it's not collecting any personal information then it's harmless but yea that is scary. What they can do with technology these days.

they can't do it if it's not connected to the internet.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the only way they can log your usage is if you connect the system to the internet. Unless we're now using "electrical circuit embeded" networks (which exist, but are rarely used) then I'm pretty sure that Microsoft isn't monitoring your xbox usage.... or ARE they?

He sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake, he knows if you've been bad or good so be good for goodness' sake, etc.
I think that's the connection.

Um, welcome to the 20th century. Windows and other computers have been pilfering user information for almost a decade. Believe it or not, there's a lot of money to be had in selling and using this information. Whoa! Who would have guessed.

Well, when you think about it this is all relatively simple. All that the xbox has to do is keep the information in a database in its internals. (where "no one" knows about it) And when it is connected to the internet it puts up all the information to microsofts servers. Sorta like the Windows Genuine Annoyance. It puts up information about many things on your computer to microsoft everytime you log in. Microsoft is getting to be like the government. It's in your business waaay to often.
