View Full Version : Time zones

we all seem to have trouble finding what time it is in our different time zones. so this thread will try to fix that. right now it is exactly 12:00 pm my time (kingston, ontario, canada). i believe that your cpu will change the post time for you. so if you were reading this exactly the time i posted it, it would read what your time is, not 12:00 pm (i think). anyways, please just post what time i posted this (your time) and your state/province etc. if the cpu dosent change the time for you, could a moderator please close this. if a moderator finds this irrelevant, please also feel free to close it.

okay so you two are in the eastern time zone. (gmt -5) I'm in the central (gmt -6). So I'm one hour behind you two.

Ktan

How about you just put your timezones in your signitures?

Basan
08-29-2006, 4:32 PM
How about reading GD's announcement (http://www.warboards.org/announcement.php?f=19&a=64) instead? :P And far more accurate too.

Ktan
08-29-2006, 4:57 PM
Still, that only helps if you know what timezone your victim is.

I quite like my 'Timezone in sigs' idea :D

I'll say it again...do you not think putting it in your timezone your sigs would be a more permanent solution? This thread won't be around forever.

Basan

yep that's what i got for living in eastern europe...lol...

Another european.... And anyway, that doesn't exactly give up your location, which is it (as in, CET - what or GMT - what)? Btw, I'm in GMT + 0 (aka London time). As a friendly side note, I've always managed to keep track of WB's ppl to whom I play with through PM's mostly (read, planning meetings ahead). ;)

Hence the search feature was made... :P that and the announcements (which commonly last a lot more than a thread's regular life span). :D

Yes, I know Basan, but wouldn't it be more convenient? Unless you bookmarked this thread.

All you'd have to do is find one single post by the person et voila, timezone.

And the way I have the only thing I have to do is trade PM's with WB's folks and after having their details in one of'em, I'll dl' the lot into a tiny *.txt that I can compose at will to keep track of'em and their B.Net nicks... copy-pasting from threads too, eventually. ;)

Lol, I admire the lengths you've gone to but it might be easier for newbies to get into the system this way. I'm just suggesting. A lot, admitedly.

lol ktan. too bad you dont bother following your own advice

Why bother? I never go on B.net anymore.

Nevertheless, I will entertain you by doing so.

Might be easier, but almost no newcomers will jump into this bandwagon to play with fellas from a forum that they barely met before in their lives. For that, they have B.Net or other alternate servers. :P
As a matter of fact, I've only started doing it with fellas that kept around and saw that they were generally nice (as in, friendly). And even in those cases, it just isn't possible to keep track of'em all. :)

WickedImposter

@basan: so your saying you dont play on bnet? and, btw, bnet is not only for that. a lot of ppl hang out in op swbk, and i find im playing daily games of TMM with musty, mat, and sharpie.

EDIT: FINE FINE so skiddy, ahzz, and lammy drop by usually, but we seldom let them macro :P

Siege_Commander

Ya wicked, u-238 was there too...
And the part where i laughed the most was when u didn't wanna let ahzz play coz his macro was godlike and the teams would be rigged(he would've been on my team.... >.< dam u)...
Oh and making a pubby game with lammy on our team was just cruel... XD

WickedImposter
09-01-2006, 7:56 AM

*K'tan concedes.

Meh, you can still tell I'm on GMT, right? I can resize it.

I rarely go online because I just play for fun now. I don't care how good I am, it's the story I like, so I'll just stick to memeories of the campaign.

I didn't meant to sound all prick like (but instead trying to show what usually goes by, alas or not). :P
Anyway and according to your location, I assume that you're also at 0 GMT (aka London time) like me. ;)
Am also currently playing online more WC3-TFT lately than exactly SC-BW (read, almost exclusively at B.Net), but we could try to play a few games of each provided you have both, which if memory serves me right I believe you do. And I do use the same nick as here followed by the ".WB" tag for both games. Later on, tell me what ya think 'bout it. :smirk:
