View Full Version : All your base are belong to us.
Seriously--- I was on BGH for a test run once, and I had my main base, half-mined, three expos, and the other player had the same. I was scanning all over his entrances and bases for incoming attacks, and then I get mass dropped on ALL THREE BASES. What the hell are you supposed to do about that?

If you had roughly the same size of resources, and he managed to get enough units to drop all three of your bases....what did you do with your resources?
Did you not see any sign of drop when you scanned?

that must have been a really long game... if you base was half mined out thats over 25000 mins gathered from each patch. as blupp said, what did you do with your resources?

In the original bgh it would acually be 10000 minerals mined I think...
still over a million minerals... :O

Win before that happens. Simple.

There is only one counter to a mass drop in BGH... Don't play BGH.

lol. actually, shadez, i used to play bgh alot. the blizz bgh had 50000 mins in each patch. but like all above said, dont play bgh. the hunters is ok (for those that dont know, hunters-gamei is like a non-moneyfied version of BGH)
Of course there are other extremly good maps (http://www.pgtour.net/pgtmaps/PGTour-10.zip) that you can play on as well ;)

Wel, I'll try to give you some better advice than what the other guys posted.
If it's so late in the game it definitely doesn't hurt to spend some money on air D in your base. I dunno what race you were, but for T mine your cliffs and near your production buildings, and put down a perimeter of turrets.
For Z, lurkers and spores, lurkers and spores.
For P, cannons should buy you enough time to get your army rushing in. A patrolling group of sairs is useful too.
BTW, on a normal map this kind of stuff is overkill.

Ditto
More expos, army building. 75% was on the way to his base while 25% was at main.

Bad. Youshould have like all your army on way to his main, and since you were playin bgh you should had static, and been macroin so that the units that came out could stopped the units that were droped.
WickedImposter

ya.but on bgh its sorta hard to macro dont you think.

LOL. i guess so. I dont see a difference though. could someone please clear that up?

Macro is just keep producing units. But on normal maps, you also have to keep broke, which means you keep spending money. But BGH has more min in one patch than a LT main lol

ya but technically it takes the same time to mine. but, your right, after the first 1500 mins are gone, it clearly has an advantage. thats why i play hunters, not BGH. hunters is a non-moneyfied version of BGH.

Most of us know that. But its an 8 player map, not for 2-4.

Yes. Dont play BGH or fastest possible maps. They cramp your style.

yes. i would love to second that. because i am a victim. T_T. used to play pure fastest for half a year. then a bunch of friends convinced me to play normal maps. now i realize how much ive improved.

Yeah, there's not so much to improve on in fastest.
Build, build, build, build, mass, mass, mass, mass.
Not so many options for anything else.
Unfortunately I was stuck in fastest a little longer than 6 months.
Like 2 years.
Downside is, since I started playing normal maps, I'm even MORE addicted.
