For those of you desiring lies, deception and butchery, you have come to the right place. Welcome, and I hope you all enjoy yourselves.

As the title states, this is a standard diplomacy game for all comers. First seven to enter will be able to play. Turn-a-week thing, so let me know in advance if you're unable to make the deadline. Here (http://diplom.org/Online/maps/map_c.gif) is the map which I will be using (except the pretty little supply centres will be slightly different) and this (http://www.wizards.com/avalonhill/rules/diplomacy.pdf) is the set of rules. Don't know how to play? Check the tutorial in the game list.

Now, I was going to give people nations by random assortment, but I thought I'd let you decide. If we have a few people who have yet to play diplomacy, then I suggest we arrange the nations randomly. However, if you like, I can sort out nations for you by choice. Simply list the nations you wish to be, in order from 'HELL YEAH LEZ GO ITALY!' down to 'AW NO WAY AM I PLAYING TURKEY!'

EG: Ausria, Germany, Italy, Britain...

Basically, the more you put down, the more likely it is that you will get something you want. If you just say 'Austria,' and someone else wants to be Austria, if they get it you will get whatever noone else wants. Not too tricky :)

About the timezones. I think EST (or PST) probably would be your best bet. BUT if you'd like to run the deadlines by your own timezone then by all means, just make a note for the rest of us what time that would be EST so we can get our orders in on time. :D

No one is in EST right now. Technically it is EDT. So many people confuse this though, so don't worry about it. Just make sure that all the deadlines are clear.

Historically in the contiguous United States, Arizona and a certain portion of Indiana did not recognize daylight savings time. However as of 2006 the entire state of Indiana now recognizes daylight savings time, and so it is correct to say that no one is in EST presently. Thanks for caring though. :)

Monty, if you wanted those programs, you can find them at http://diplojuge.hosting.ipsyn.com/. You'll need Perl to run the tirosort tool, which makes country assignments. The adjudicator requires Python, and the map making stuff requires Perl, a unix shell (bash, tcsh, etc), and a few other things.

Note that these programs haven't been updated since 2004. However, I am currently making my own fork of the tools, porting the remaining Perl and shell code to Python and adding some really nice features to the diplocarte mapmaker. Unfortunately, my version isn't ready for public consumption for the time being. Anyway, once it is finished (indefinite timeline), it will released under GPL.

I didn't realise until now, which is a bit of a pain in the ass... and I'm fairly confident that he won't make the deadline. So I'll try and get a hold of Maeg, who can hopefully chuck some opening orders together quickly so we can get this game moving.

I'll be slightly behind on the deadline, too, but only by a few hours or so. Long, late exam, which I should probably be studying for, heh, heh...

As much as I love the old map (I do), the colours refuse to change on my program. So it's either remembering supply centres or looking at a not-so-flash map. As for abbreviations, just give me the standard ones or the whole thing (as per the map I linked at the start). Makes it easier if sea provinces are captialised. And seriously, how much of a deal is it? Maybe I'll make everything fine and dandy in a few turns or so, but I'm busy enough as it is.

Certainly doesn't need to be anything permanent, just if you're busy is all. Ironically enough, my school has started and my "busy-ness" in general is down.

The Army in Bulgaria cannot retreat; unit destroyed. One retreat to make, which is the Turkish Fleet in the Black Sea, which can go to Ankara or disband.

Can you guys make the next deadline if it's in four days' time (Fall)? Gets us back on schedule, and Monday is far and away the easiest day for me to get the results up. Especially since there's just one retreat to make.
