View Full Version : I have to do some thing about my temper.

I had a few problems with my modem last night, basically it shit itself and that was that. Well after about 4 hours of dicking about with it I lost my temper with the silly thing and sent it flying across the room as hard and as fast as I could where it smashed in to about 6 little pieces. That didn't worry me to much as the modem was already broken (I think anyways). But as I picked it up and threw it, it's cables caught my wife's monitor, witch then fell off her desk and then smashed on the tile floor (yes, I am sleeping on the couch tonight). So it was down to the computer shop this morning, $85 for a new modem and $149 for a new monitor. I hate it when that happens, but 9 times out of ten if you loose your temper the only person it does cost, is yourself.

Heh, I'll admit I've certainly felt the desire to "punish" hardware that has been misbehaving in the past. You get this mindset that things should just work, and that if they don't they're deliberately doing it to spite you, or something. ;)

Hmm, my experiences tell me that punishment towards hardware can sometimes be the curing touch. For example when I had troubles with my sound card.

I can't use a wireless mouse anymore. Guess why.

My friend punched a hole in his wall. I'm not insane enough to ask why.

Damn tempers. Was your tile floor okay? They can be a bitch to repair.

Because you where unable to re-assemble it. ;)

I didn't think to look at the floor till a little later, there is a small chip off 1 tile, not to bad.

Yeah that's alright. So long as you don't have a big dent with cracks running through them, ha ha. Ah well, that's what floorist friends are for. ;)

And spot on with the mouse, too. I've had to put up with this stock compaq mouse, with a cord which has always been twisted, no matter how many times one untwists it.

Ha ha, nice story dude. And there's nothing worse than getting your bad news in the mail!

I always find it's stress relieving to tear up paper when I'm in a bad mood at the computer.

Toucan27 - you're modem wasn't working, so you threw it against the wall. It smashed into 6 parts. A good way to make sure it's not working! ;)

I find my couch to be quite comfortable. If your temper is unchangeable, let me suggest taking an investment in a better one :P
