go to User CP, go to "edit signature", select a picture to use at "signature image" and upload it. it should give a code to use in yer sig.

After uploading your sig image to warboards, use the code [ sigpic] and [ /sigpic ] to display it in your signature. Yes, it is different from most forums [ img ] code.

PS: Mind if I borrow your banana/pinapple smiley arrangement in protest of our 1 sigpic img rule? :P

[ img ] code.
and make sure there are no spaces in the img code.

One would think it's as simple as that, but this forum is ruled by a sig-hating dictator that has decided to remove [ img ] code from sigs. Under his rule, you MUST upload an image to the warboards server so it can be checked for filesize, and dimensions and if it passes the requirements, THEN you can use [ sigpic ] (no spaces) tags to include the image in your sig.

I like how it now forces correct sizing... a pet peeve of mine from back in the dial-up daze but all I really want is a rotating sig that conforms to current restrictions.

Indeed - it's not so much the size restrictions that bother me, but the fact that it needs to be a single, static image. I really liked having a rotator, and even more so I really liked being able to create "compound" rotators with multiple images.

When people join a forum a lot of times the first thing they want to do is set up their sig/avy -- but now that we've put heavy restrictions on those with unusual code (the sigpic thing) a lot of people (note this thread) seem to be having trouble with or having complaints about the system.

PS: join the rebellion and place 14 dancing smilies in your sig! maybe it will anger the forum dictator as revenge.......

if rotators were to be allowed, i'd say that the total size of all the rotated sigs should not exceed that 50kB.
think about the dialups?

Even that's better than a single static image - I'd find a creative way to use rotators without blowing up the total size of my entire rotated sig (all images combined). But a single static image is really annoying because it takes away my ability to do something creative (outside of photoshop).

And the age old solution, how about instead of making EVERYONE be forced to comply with strict sig laws, we let the people that don't like the sigs turn them off via the user CP? There IS an option to disable signatures just on your computer.....

...Rotators shouldn't exceed the 35kb limit. In fact, most didn't. Even the mutli-rotator thingy.

How many people do we have here that use dial up anyways? Besides that, any "lag" created by sigs is nothing compared to the "lag" of loading the actual page itself.
