I was playing a game of sc, and it turns out I had bad latency, or my opponent did, or whatever, but now my whole computer seems to be running 2 times slower.

You can avoid latency problems by:
1. Keep your computer clean.
A. Do a disk check
B. Virus & Adware check
C. Re-format (Not req)
D. Look for background programs

2. Get rid of firewalls, and anti-virusus that are constantly on. Only get virus/adware killers that actually turn off when you click turn off. Firewalls are for retarded 10-year olds that can't keep track of what they are doing on the computer, ofcourse, unless you have have top secret information, which I highly doubt.

3. Get a higher speed internet. If you are using AOL, and all of that crap providers, switch to a high-speed internet, ADSL or cable. I'm currently using a 1.5mbps Telus ADSL. It's not the best, but its good.

4. Anything lower than 75ms should be playable. Its not always your problem that you have high latency - it may be the host.

5. If you are using wireless, don't.
