How bad is the damage? If there is a deep scratch or penetration in any part of the cd, it cannot be fixed. If there are minor scratches, try cleaning the disc and use a cd cleaning kit or device that can be bought at places like Wal-Mart.

If it doesn't work just buy a new one.

It can't be more than like, 10 bucks right now.

And I don't care Mythbusters said, my first copy of the original Starcraft disc exploded in my CD drive.

Mine did too. It's because it was a 4x CD-ROM in a (most likely) 48x CD-ROM drive. They were using modern versions of CD's and drives, not old CD's and new drives.

OR He can dl a "backup" copy from torrents, only the CD thats damaged. And using a backup eliminates the possibility of exploding CDs or younger brothers eating them.

Thats odd, Ive gone through two exploding disks in my time, not fun.

In the future, please note that this is not the proper forum for posting that question. As your question is about CD damage, it more properly belongs somewhere like the Technology Annex, as the nature of the CD is irrelevant to your question.

Just download a .iso and use your CD-Key, that's what I'd do. Then again, I don't even use the REAL CD anyway, I just use my Key and a .iso that I mad emyself ^.^.

No it doesent. And that's (http://www.warboards.org/showpost.php?p=361114&postcount=9) not approprate for the forum. Firstly because he mentions no cd-key, a thing that is non-existant, secondly to run SC without CD is illegal (unles with PPlug, which does not overwrite a file under the protection of the EULA) because it requires replacing a file in the SC dir' thus braking the EULA.
Im one step closer to braking that lil prick's neck. Sorry for the strong language.

Adding a tiny piece to what Evil' just said, it directly goes against the forum rules (http://www.warboards.org/faq.php?faq=faq_rules#faq_faq_rules_badtopics) (present on the site's FAQ (http://www.warboards.org/faq.php?)) to promote/search that kind of stuff around here.

Just clearing up a little bit, I do have BW Launcher on when playing online, but with the "no-CD Key" plug in off... and am also running the game from a CD *.iso (loaded onto my Daemon Tools) at the same time. ;)
