Hi, I just recently bought a new computer, so, when once I installed Starcraft, and tried playing battle.net, the maps would not download (resulting in me being booted or banned by the hosts). It only worked once, but hasn't since, preventing me from playing. Now, I tried putting Starcraft on my exception list of the standard Windows firewall, and i tried turning off nortons, but neither worked.

Here is a rundown of the stuff I have on the comp that I think could be related. Windows XP, Starcraft (No expansion), Nortons Antivirus 2006, and a trial of Nortons Internet Security 2005 Antispyware Edition.

Please help, I've posted this on many different websites and nobody would read them. I'm so tired of fighting the comps, especially after having an older computer that would allow me to download maps on battle.net.

*Edit* Also, I have Bell Sympatico internet (Which is crappy, off topic, but it only has a 2g bandwith limit, and like $7 for every gig over. I wanted cogeco which has like a 10gig limit on even the cheapest version).

If you have any firewalls, just remove them, chances are you don't really need them.

I'm not sure if that would cause the problem, are you behind a Router at all? Because if so you will need to make sure that certain ports are opened for starcraft to work.

If you don't plan on terminating Firewalls (terminate as in uninstal, because that WinXP Firewall keeps blocking even turned off) You can open port 6112 once as TCP and a second time as UDP, I'm not sure what you meant by adding sc into the exceptions (maybe just adding starcraft.exe isn't helping).
You can always read Blizz' FAQ or even contact them. If you do have a router
get its model and google it for manual on opening ports. Finally you can ask your ISP to open port 6112 on TCP and UDP for you, theres a big possibility they're allowing certain stuff only.
