SC.org ---Banned!!!! Why!?!?!

I'm a normal SC.org goer, and I came on a couple of days ago to find myself banned! An IP ban too! What did I ever do? Now I can't even do anything on the site at all!

I browsed through SC.org by searching for the pages on Google, and looking through Google's cached version, and I couln't find any notice to my ban, or any infringement that I committed.

So, on the advice of another SC.org member, I created this account (Yes, I havn't been on Warboards before this day) and have lodged this inquiry. Aimed at SC.org staff, of course.


Now please tell me --Why!?!?!?

Our control panel is currently down, but from memory you were temporarily banned because of an advertising offense. Were you posting links to personal web sites in all your posts? If so, that would be what it was.

Maybe it's because the website it just plain scary. It's www.crazyoldfart.com (http://www.crazyoldfart.com) - really just my name, with man replaced by fart.


How long does the ban last for?

Crazy Old Man's link was just a joke, it wasn't advertising. I can see why admins might think so though. But there probably should have been warnings and the like before banning him. One thing Sc.org seems to be lax on - it happened to Crab Taster Man as well, though he's since been unbanned.

I've only gone to SC.org about twice, and I hadn't even registered there, but, I encountered the message that I had been banned from the site when I tried to download something. I registered to see if it was some kind of "Members only" download, but I got the same message again. Please help me, I don't know what to do.:concern:

Well, the IP that you had when you made the post above isn't banned. Do you have a dynamic or static IP address? There's a ban for an IP that might correspond to a specific address from your ISP, and if you're dynamic you might have just got unlucky when you connected to the Internet.
