the title says it all...i went on a quick game, 3v3 me random..i got a team with a lvl 24 orc and a 16 NE vs. a lvl 1 human lvl 3 orc and lvl 1 NE

all went good..i went for mass bats + hero rush (bm me with SH [the lvl 24 guy] and a KotG the NE ) got them on the wrong foot, the lvl 1 ne was out...we retunred back to base and started building.i went for 6 bats 2 catapults and 8 grunts and later 4 hh, gruntapult first and bats-hh after....they had mass gyro in base ( human ) and the orc went for a tauren/shamans...they defended well...i was out of units..red and orange (my allys) still fighting...they got out of units to...started re-creating..but surpirze...the human had a sec base where he massed gyros and the orc came with a lvl 6 SH and taruren/shamans and 2 witch doctors (master)

dont have a replay  i started realizeing after that that i should have recorded...but anyways...level dosen't mather

so who won? May be that doesn't matter too...

in a 3v3 game, I would be really happy if there is a level 1 in the team and he leave the game at the begining, so that I can control his unit.

I'd be happy to get a level one, full stop. Chances are that he's played a bit (smurf or soloer) and could be decent. On the rare occasions you end up with a pretty good player. If they suck you can either quit, help them out, or chat to them. I'll leave the specifics of what you say up to you...

Most newbies play 4v4 first up - less responsibility, of course!

they owned us...the ne left and it was me with red...got owned..we had no anti air >.<

anyways...another example...no reaplay 2 :(

so

another quick game, 4v4 this time...2 lvl 1 in team and one lvl 6 vs. a 7 hu a 9 Ne a 10 randomer and a 3 randomer

my team was on random 2, except me, i wend for orcs...same thing, hero rush i went SH this time..with 1 pala, 1 mk and 1 AM..it went pretty good....the lvl 6 human droped >.< it was a 3v4 game...started chating...made a team tactic...the massed rifles with fast tech..i went for the same old gruntapult and mass bats...and we stared takeing them 1 by 1...i had 2 grunts in my base, and i was exponent, with a big risc of getting attacked first...i hoped i'l get attacked..but instted, the lvl 10 randomer got undead..and insteed of massing gouls on me he keept attacking me with skeellys >.< ( lame )

and ways, my new account is a total succes :) i got 5 wins in a row

Here's how it works. Battle.net does not match you with people of a similar level. If they did that then two players of vastly different skill but of the same level (for instance, a professional working his way up to the top but still at Level 24) could be matched and it would basically be unfair. What the AMM does is give you an ELL, or "shadow level". This is the level that it thinks is the highest you'll go. At Level 1, it is about 28.

You are then matched with people of a similar ELL, and this gives the best chances of a game where people are evenly matched. Level 1s always have the same ELL and yet could be fantastic, therefore no, level does not matter and neither does percentage. All that matters when you're getting matched with someone else is your ELL.

This system was implemented to deal with smurfs. It was too easy for them to get 50-0, and take wins away from genuine new members. *cough*RedRag*cough* I've ended up versing people who have low levels, but with very high skill, before. Level ultimately guarantees very little.

Except if you get matched against someone who is level 2. That means that they've won one game but lost quite a few. This is because 1-0 makes you level 3.

Correction: Below L30, level doesn't matter.

At 30 and above, IMO especially 35 and above, levels are a sign of some experience and capability of play. Some people claim that it doesn't mean anything because this one time they played a L30 and totally kicked his ass as though beating an L30 one time out of 10 should mean anything to b.net.

Quite. Feel free to rub more salt in the wound.

What GA said is also right, in the WCR Guide to the current AMM it says that 35 and upwards can be classed as good.

Maybe its different for newbs and such but ive beaten several level 30+ O.o. Its only around level 38+ till 60-70% of the newbs are sorted out. But to me beating a level 30 isnt really a big accomplishment. Though if i beat a 40 or something than its fairly good.

There is no highest level, although I believe an ELL can only go up to 50. TitaN, however, from Mousesports, is top of Northrend ladder at the moment, and I'm not sure what he has now but before he had Level 57. I've seen a couple of Level 60 players before. It gets very, very difficult once you cross the Level 50 barrier, because you need to win more than one game for every loss to keep yourself at a constant level.

Not to mention that the search times become infinitely long, due to that there would be very few members of that level.

I'm not rubbing salt in a wound - you aren't wounded. In theory, you're the one causing the wounds. ;)

I would like to reiterate. L30s aren't invincible, and that's not a qualification of being L30. However, winning games and being in possession of skills is a qualification of L30, which is what the ladder is based upon. So if you can beat an L30, it means that L30s are beatable. It does not, however, mean that L30 is somehow lessened. I hope this clarifies.

I myself have never been above level 33 or 34, cant remember which, in RT. If i wanted to waste my time searching for games all the time i'm sure i could have gotten myself to 40 or higher. Not trying to brag here but the ELL is really gay. Newbs complain for a change in AMM so the pros have to suffer. It sucks.

Oh, & it did nothing to stop the smurfing. Not trying to say that i'm a pro either.

Actually, the pros are complaining for a change in the AMM and that's why they've included the 3 Elite Ladders in the upcoming patch whereby anyone can play anyone, a la WCGZone, to reduce search times.

Unfortunately it seems that this wont help much, as i'm sure the majority of the people without search problems wont switch servers, and all the good players that switched servers, there still wont be that many.

But it is good that blizzard is finally doing something about it
