Blizzard have announced Season 4, including the addition of three new "Elite" ladders for invited players - which should reduce at least some of the complaining about the high search times for better soloists.
I can't wait for the new patch, as long as they make Walkers magic immune. Gawd, if they don't do that I'm going to tear my hair out and make a small blanket from it.
Im guessing it started today? I want to be top 50 solo.. Better start today ~

They usually wait about a week before releasing the patch and doing the reset, but it's better than nothing.
I'm quite excited about this - hopefully they've fixed at least most of the balance issues. Although apparently bear/dyrad has been complained about since ROC Beta... :shiftyr:
I am praying for new hero's or upgrades to the WE, season 4 will prolly get me back into playing melee, its always fun with everyone on 0 ;)

I reckon Orc is in need of a buff, but that would comply with the old saying "In Warcraft, everyone plays the race they think is the worst", which is true in many a case. There are some aspects of Orc, eg. Liquid Fire that do really need a nerf, but other aspects that need a buff (*cough*Walkers*cough*) so it's difficult to deal with. Blizzard also don't like making huge changes so I can see Dryads being made slightly more expensive or giving more experience, but not slow poison being made autocast with a mana cost.
I seriously doubt they would get auto-cast on slow, that is like what they did to the Fire Lord with that spell being a passive one now its autocast i forget the spell name but that made me not use him for a while lol

Incinerate.... and I get the FL as a secondary hero quite a bit for the cool Tier 2 pushes. You get him for the Lava Spawns only. Although it's often nice to soul burn a Blademaster... ;)
Yer thats it, incernate passive was sooo overpowerd and lava spawns are pretty tank on high levels too.

I won two games last night which were NE verses Orc. I decided to go DH + FL, and won them both. The orcs never built any spirit walkers.... I then lost a NE mirror match
NE mirror can be pretty hectic, i think spirit walkers will get something in the new patch making them more accesable to all players, seeing as they are the only anti caster orc unit.
Maybe they'll grow wings and be able to eat magic and blast people.

You have no idea how much that made me laugh. But yeah, 'twould be nice. Or perhaps they should introduce a "flying sheep critter" for Hu so they can destroy trees behind enemy base, port into the flying critter and then kill the other guy with Mortars.
Although you can't port into flying units. Suckage.
maybe they should give orc a unit that has a iniate spell that gives -5 armor/free map hack or godly movement speed/attack speed reduction.

No, they should nerf orc to the ground.
Especially walkers.
Then I'd start playing orcs.

Although you can't port into flying units. Suckage.
Easy remedy. Flying units should be able to walk if they want to... though within reason. I don't want to see an army of gyroes trucking along like a division of miniature tanks.
Ha, ha... bats should be allowed to kamikaze heroes. Now I'd pay my entrance fee to see that.

Port to a mechanical critter instead. ;)
they should let sappers travel in zeppilens that would solve in imbalances between races :P

OK guys, let's clean up the spam a little. : P
My personal problem with giving Orc a magic immune anticaster is that Chainwave is the best combo AoE in the game; an anticaster like that would put them too far over the top. I think a few other problematic races should get a little smack with the nerf bat and Orc would suffer less. Otherwise, they're still very playable on the ladder and in pro-level, so I don't really see them getting a huge buff.
I really wouldnt expect big changes in the new patch that will come along side with season 4, they will edit some maps and some units and that will be it, really though i would love to see new hero's or new items in the shops.

Three new heroes is enough, thank you. If they do stick a new hero in the Tavern, it needs to have a disable above all else - I mean stun, similar to the MK's Storm Bolt, which will allow Hu to go Fast Rifle in Hu vs Ud and not get their ass handed to them by a powercrept DK while their MK has just started creeping.
I only want new hero's in to make the game 'fun' again for me, i havent played melee in that long due to boredom, if new hero's go in, ill be into melee again lol.

Hmm, I don't think a new hero would do it. You either see the genius of the game or you don't. I go back every now and again and "rediscover" the magic of some of the lesser heroes. For instance, I always underestimate the solo Tinker. At L6, he's a freaking psycho beast with psychobeats of that Siege hammer thing--you can't even stop him from Staff of TPing out after a rampage because of magic immunity.

It's not magic immunity, he's mechanical. This means that spells like slow do work... And you can stop channeling with, for example, raiders or bash. But being mechanical means he can't be, for example, bloodlusted, or holy lighted, but he can be repaired with worker units. It's quite an interesting ulti to experiment with, when given the chance. :)
But still, he really is one goddamn beast, I'll have to agree with that.

You're right on the correction, he can still take spell damage--but my point was that he can't be stunned by conventional means. Ensnare and Bash works on any unit. :P

I was surprised to find out that Bash is the only way of stunning a Dryad, actually. I mean, I didn't think they could be stunned at all.

You can also stun a dryad by dropping zé Infernal on her head.
Dryads are too gay :(. 145 gold for 1 dryad is just LoL.
Dryads are prolly in my opinion one of NE best units, slow damaga ownz everything, team them up with bears is hard to beat, ashame it takes awhile to hit bears.
When tinker came out all i used was him, he is my fave hero, cluster rockets is good, and his ulti is sweet, i love going through an orc base with ulti tinker and smahing all their burrows :)

So... it isn't possible to ensnare them? Or doesn't that count as "stun?"

Yes, it is possible to ensnare dryads since ensnare is a physical ability. Just like you can web destroyers etc.
And it isn't a stun, since it only stops movement speed.

I can only pray you're being sarcastic. It's a "shame" like it's a "shame" that Orc can only start the game with grunts and no bloodlust.

Yeah... and it's not as though bears take long to hit, either. Heck, only tier 3 melee to be produced in tier 2... throw in the synergies of staff, wells, rejuv, roar, dryad support. Yeah.
Oh, what was the topic about? Right. So, has anyone got any information about what the patch actually consists of? Or are we in for a surprise? (Good or bad, take your pick. I'm picking bad.)

I have information about when it's hitting Bnet - not an exact date, but Season 4 is running from "Sept 2006 - Jan 2007". We may be in for a wait.
