I've setup a proxy on my PC, so a friend can acces certain sites, with the program CCProxy. I've made up a custom port number yada yada.. it works as intended but there's still a problem :concern:. Some servers or people (hopefully not) seem to find me and theyr action description is "Socs5 connect <IP goes here>". Does someone know what are those? I gave my 'IP: Port' to two ppl, my friend and my sisters boyfriend in Germany and clearly its not them connecting through the proxy cos those misterious IP's are from all over the US
Sooo any idea how I can prevent that.. I wouldnt like someone to split my ass in two halves through my proxy..

You can have them try a free proxy service such as Cosmopod which lets you have a free remote desktop session with a Linux machine. It works nicely for accessing blocked sites.

Hoho thats so much fun, im writing this through the remote UNIX desktop! But I dont think remote proxies will help because the case is different here, see the website I am talking about is only accesable if the person is in my city and my ISP.

Hmm, well then going back to your original problem.....
The thought that comes to mind is to set up a firewall to block anything EXCEPT the IPs of your friends.

Strange thing is that the SOCKS port (1080 in the default options) is not opened nor have I ever opened and then delete it... I can disable SOCKS connections (the strange IP's use only that) but i dont know if that will trouble my friends connecting (stupid thing i hvent tryed before posting:shiftyl:)
I suppose these connections are some proxy indexing thingy over the 'net..
