There was only darkness and silence. These two things are all that had been for longer then anyone could remember. Suddenly, something clicked. A few lights flickered, and turned on. A low hum enveloped the room, and slowly started to grow louder. Soon, the lights spread to other rooms and hallways of the ship. The lights spread into a large chamber. In this chamber was a device. A Hyperspace Core. The lights on the Core slowly started to activated, and soon the hum inside the ship turning into a whine. After thousands and thousands of years being dormant, the core awoke. Outside in the darkness of space, the ship’s exterior lights slowly flickered to life. All around it a similar scene on a smaller scale was commencing. Small and large ships alike started to hum, the drone of engines filling the empty space. The fleet of Reclamation had awoken.

------------------

They had been cast out. They had been shamed. Their once great glory had been stolen, and they knew who was responsible for the crime. The Exiles, the Kushan, the Hiigarans. They were the reason they were stuck on this world, and they were going to pay for what they had done. Being driven by a need for Vengeance, they slowly colonized the desolate world they were on. This deserted world however, was rich in a valuable mineral however. They stockpiled this, knowing it was useless to them at this stage. Many years passed, and they had finally reached the level of technology needed to leave their planet.

They activated one of the few relics they had from their previous lives, and activated a distress beacon, knowing what it would bring. Soon enough Turanic Raiders arrived, looking for a damaged ship to scavenge. What they found however, was a tempting offer. The mineral that had been stockpiled was used as bribery, and the Raiders accepted the bribe. They went in search of ships that had been abandoned, and returned them to their client’s Homeworld. They knew that the offered material was worth more than these outdated relics, and left the planet and its inhabitants to their fate. The hulks and relics were soon repaired, and the civilization was able to operate in space. They mined the needed recourses using improvised hulks, and slowly started construction of a single Station in orbit.

Now, many years later, they have an empire. Many planets have fallen under their rule through conquest and colonization, and the once mighty Vaygr have been assimilated. The Turanic Raiders see them as masters. This empire is still but a shell of its once great ancestor, and its inhabitants know this. They know who was to blame, and they knew what the answer is. They are going to have vengeance.

------------------

“Of course you want to know what it was like. To be a starship the size of a city, to hold an entire race in your hands. To tear time and space apart, to experience pain and potential beyond the grasp of any mere flesh. You know that language can’t begin to convey the feeling, but you think maybe it was a little like being God. And you’re right. It was like being some deformed, twisted God trapped in Hell.”

Many generations have passed since the Exiles arrived at Hiigara. Many more after the Eye of Aarran was opened. And many more after that, during the golden age of S’jet. That age however, has come and gone. S’jet is on her deathbed, and the Empire is without a leader. Sajuuk once again drifting empty through space. The empire is in anarchy, and S’jet’s health is rapidly deteriorating.

“Roger that, docking in bay 15. Nalvesi out.”

With that said, Nalvesi closed the com link to IGSC. He looked back up from the Com system, and watched the Inter-Galactic Shipping Control’s docking bay 15 slowly consume the view from the main window. Gradually, the freighter’s speed reduced to the point where it was barely moving. Clamps from the hanger’s floor rose up and latched onto the hull of the Nebalese’s Dream, holding it in place as a refueling tube connected with the port side of the ship.

“Do you ever think they’re gona' get automated docking systems for these things?” asked Nalvesi’s co-pilot.

“Doubtful. That’s the only thing a pilot really needs to do these days, if they got auto docking these ships could fly themselves.”

“Hey, some already d-” Nalvesi’s co-pilot was interrupted by the automated docking message.

“Freighter Nebalese’s Dream, welcome to the IGSC. Please remain in position until the refueling is complete.”

During the silence that followed the message and the time it would take for the refueling to complete, Nalvesi replayed the conversation he just had with his co-pilot in his head. Automated freighters were a better investment. They took less man power, and could fly for longer periods of time without needing to refuel, and they were more energy efficient. The future did not look bright for a Freighter captain.

No, the future did not look bright at all. Kareen S’jet was dying, along with half the empire. She was the one who was holding it all together. With her gone, the Empire was sure to break off into separate factions, and the galaxy would be like it was 200 years prior to now. The only reason it was still holding on now was because of how shocked everyone was that The Great Keeper could possibly die. And now it seemed all good things were coming to an end.

“Refueling complete. You may now leave the station.”

The clamps that had previously been holding the ship in place slowly started to release. Suddenly, a voice started playing over the Com system.

“Unidentified ships, you have entered Hiigaran space. Please transmit identification or turn back. I repeat, unidentified ships, you have entered Hiigaran space. Please transmit identification or turn back.”

“Negative Hiigara. We are not turning back, nor are we surrendering. See this as an official declaration of war. Prepare yourselves.”

The Nebalese’s Dream started the automated launch sequence from the station, pushing it out of the relative safety provided by the IGSC. Nalvesi brought the ship around, so that it was facing the exit of the hanger. In front of him, he saw a wave of smaller craft closing in on his freighter. A wave of missiles erupted from the closest ones, heading straight for his freighter.

“Shit.”

------------------

“Earlier today, a surprise attack was launched at the IGSC station, near the Eye of Arran.
The attack left the station destroyed, along with every vessel in the surrounding area. We received the following message:”

“People of Hiigara, your time has expired. View the actions of this day as but a warning, for the real attacks are about to begin.”

“We have identified this signal to have originated from a world in the unknown region of space. Their craft have also been identified as a cross between the old Vaygr military ships, and the ancient Taiidani craft. The threat presented by this is unrivaled by what we have seen in recent years. The Mothership Matron of Hiigara has been sent to a distress beacon coming from a sector near the Eye.”

------------------

Taiidani ships:

STRIKECRAFT:

Interceptor/Scout: All we have gathered from intelligence is that these craft are responsible for scouting the enemy in small groups, then gathering into a larger horde to annihilate the enemy. They are not capable of Short Range jumps. Instead, these are docked on the Support Frigates and transported to the battlefield. They have two auto-canons, one on either side of the craft. Its engine capabilities appear to match our own. These fighters are deployed as escorts, raiders, and Space Superiority fighters.

Missile Interceptor: Using the same chassis as their interceptor, the Taiidani military forces have replaced the canons on the Interceptor with a Cluster-Missile launcher located underneath the craft. Because of the size and weight of these weapons, the speed of this fighter has been slowed considerably. Also, the rate of reloading on these vessels is tediously slow. It takes nearly 15 seconds for a reload, so these craft generally attack in swarms. They are effective against Frigates, and Capital Ships.

CORVETTE:

Gun Corvette: Using a much larger and heavier chassis then the Interceptor, the Gun Corvette's only weapon is a capitol class MAC gun, with a reload time of 5 seconds. This weapon is the core of the craft, with the rest of it built around it. These ships' engines are capable of propelling it at the same speeds as the Missile Interceptor. These vessels are effective against Frigates and Capitol ships. The Taiidani Corvettes also make use of Stolen Short-Jump Technology.

Laser Corvette: Using the same build, chassis, and engines as the Gun Corvette, this ship's only difference is its weapon. It has a Pulsar Canon onboard, instead of a MAC gun. The Canon is capable of destroying fighters and other Corvettes with ease. It's reload time is 5 seconds.

Command Corvette: A corvette with no weapons. It is much faster, and has more armor on it then the regular models. While one is in the area, expect a higher performance of Taiidani tactics.

FRIGATES:

Assault Frigate: The Taiidani equivalent of the Hiigaran assault frigate. Its weapons consist of 6 MAC turrets, all mounted near the front of the ship. Midway are 6 Missile tubes, capable of firing at a rate of 1 missile every five seconds. Beyond that is the bridge, followed by the engines. This vessel is the most common frigate in the enemy’s fleet. It’s capable of taking down corvettes, Frigates, and destroyers if there are enough of them. However, the MAC turrets and missiles are slow enough to make them nearly useless against Strikecraft enemies. The assault Frigate is equipped with Short Jump technology.

Point Defense Frigate: The Taiidani response to the Counselor, the PDF is capable of destroying entire squadrons of fighters and bombers. With 5 Auto-fire canons, and the ability to maneuver like a corvette, the PDF is the best Anti-Fighter vessel in the Taiidani navy. The engines on this ship make it nearly half as fast as a Corvette. It also has the stolen Short Jump, along with all of the other Taiidani Frigates and Capital ships.

Torpedo Frigate: During the post Vaygr war Era (also known as the romantic era) many of the Hiigaran Torpedo Frigates were abandoned due to their inability to compete with the new generations of ships. It’s unknown how the Taiidani acquired one, but they have. Mounted on their standard Frigate hull are three Torpedo Tubes, each of them capable of firing cluster torpedoes, which break apart before hitting anything smaller then a Frigate. These three tubes are capable of firing 1 torpedo every 5 seconds. Alone, this vessel is an easy target for Strikecraft and Corvettes, but in a large group these crafts are very dangerous. They are effective against Corvettes, Frigates, and Capitol ships.

Support Frigate: This craft is used to refuel, reload, and repair strike craft in the field. It is also used as a transportation system for the fighter class ships. It can store up to 10 at a time, and has the ability to make many short range jumps without docking or receiving more fuel/battery power.

Capital ships:

Destroyer: The Taiidani destroyer is the backbone of one of their capital phalanxes. With 8 torpedo tubes, 3 MAC turrets, and an Ion Beam turret, this vessel is a formidable opponent. Their destroyer’s speed is a little under half of that of their frigates, making it the third slowest ship in their fleet. However, this ship is no match for our current model.

Carrier: The Taiidan rely heavily on their mobile carrier forces. These ships are light, cheap, and expandable. A production facility with paper thin armor and engines. All Taiidani carriers are able to build anything smaller then a Capital Ship. Their defenses consist of several Anti-Strikecraft guns. Its barely slower then one of their destroyers.

Battle Cruiser: The Taiidan version of the Eminent, this ship is by far the most powerful vessel fielded today. With 4 Ion Beam turrets, 4 MAC turrets, and 6 Torpedo tubes make this the ship that can easily destroy anything we have. Fortunately, these are not widely fielded, and are generally used to defend Shipyards and to launch attacks on high priority targets. It is the slowest ship in their navy, its speed matching our Battle Cruiser.

------------------

Hiigaran Navy:

Chaplain-Class Scout: The basic principle of a scout fighter has remained mostly unchanged since the first was created at the beginning of the Homeworld War. Utilizing lighter armor and a yet bigger engine, technicians have improved many aspects of the Scout that saw service against the Vaygr. Because of the advances made in armor design and composition, the Chaplain retains all the armor value of the previous versions at about two-thirds the weight. A larger engine module also creates a massive boost in speed in comparison to older Scouts. Also, the newest Chaplain introduces something not seen in any previous fighter: A micro-hyperspace module. This allows nearly infinite scouting capability. Care should be used though, as the module can only provide a portal several times before running out of energy. Even so, this is the most advanced scout design to date. Similar modules are now being used in all fighters, corvettes, and frigates of the Hiigaran Navy. Armament remains comparatively light, and it comes equipped with but a single fixed auto cannon.

Saber-Class Interceptor: The Saber is the latest and greatest standard fighter of the Hiigaran navies. The famous and ultimately highly successful Interceptor that was used in the time of Vaygr War was all but completely surpassed by a series of technological advances in the subsequent years after the end of that conflict. Perhaps the greatest advantage the Saber has over all other modern fighters is a micro-hyper drive that supplements the standard engines of the craft. While allowing a much shorter jump than a carrier, this allows squadrons of fighters to extend their range and strike area. While aesthetically resembling the Interceptor of old, the Saber also includes a series of advanced engines and new plasteel armor the makes it faster and harder to kill. Replacing the fixed Kinetic Auto gun under the nose is a semi-flexible, three barreled cannon capable of excessively high rates of fire. Adding to this firepower is that it has the ability to pivot five degrees in any direction. This gives the weapon greater accuracy. All together, the Saber is an excellent new fighter and does the Hiigaran Navy proud.

Counselor-Class Bomber: Ships designed for delivering bomb loads have been a staple in space faring nations for as long as sub-light drives have been around, and they remain quite similar despite greater advances in technology. The Counselor is the newest Bomber created by the Hiigaran scientists for the Navy. The same armor used on the Saber-Class Interceptor is also utilized on the Counselor for excellent protection. New, more efficient engine modules have also been installed to provide a much needed increase in speed. Even so, the Counselor remains the slowest fighter-class vessel and needs protection from enemy fighters. Fixed firing forward is a pair of high tech particle accelerator discharged that launch a compact ball of energy that can penetrate most modern and all previous armor types. Also, a much needed defensive measure has been taken. An auto-tracking, single barreled kinetic cannon has been mounted in a top turret firing to the rear to help discourage fighters from pouncing on this vessels. The Counselor has already proven its battlefield value and will remain in constant production for years to come.

CORVETTES:

Airy-Class Light Corvette: Light Corvettes have always been a staple in space going nations. The Airy-class is a call back to the Cavalier of the Homeworld War, the same vessels that fell into dis-use after the conclusion of the Homeworld campaign. They have since come back into use as long range patrol craft and escorts for larger vessels. The Airy even aesthetically resembles the Cavalier, but the similarity ends there. As opposed to a single gun turret, the Airy sports a pair of Medium Projectile weapons, mounted dorsally and ventrally. It also boasts increased speed and armor over previous Light Corvettes. Utilizing a crew of three, it has become very popular due to its high speed harassing capabilities.

Patron-Class Heavy Corvette: As opposed to a Light Corvette that is produced and used for patrol and harassment duties, Heavy Corvettes are used strictly for harsh and close quarters combat. The Patron is the newest embodiment of this class. A much more advanced and useful version of the Hammer of old, the Patron utilizes all the latest tech advances: New composite armor, more efficient engines, and a micro-hyperspace module for warp traveling. Armed with a trio of Medium Projectile Turrets, two topside and one under the chin, the Patron is a fierce opponent and presents a large threat for anything frigate sized and smaller. The four man crew is packed into a tiny compartment, as the Patron is covered in massive amounts of armor and the interior contains the latest targeting computers, communication technology, and sensor arrays.

Prodigal-Class Multigun Corvette: The major weakness of frigates and larger capital ships is that generally their weapons are designed to engage ships of analogous size and function. Heavy turrets can punch gaping holes in an enemy cruiser, but they must rely on pure luck to hit high maneuverability targets. This leaves heavier ships very vulnerable to massed attacks by strike craft. Fleet Command realized that fighters are better used in the offensive role and so an order for some sort of larger anti-fighter platform was placed. The Prodigal utilizes the most advanced turret control known to allow a relatively small crew handle the six individual turrets. Each contains a Medium Projectile Turret that fires a weapon deadly to strike craft and frightening to Frigates. Using the latest armor and engines, the Prodigal has become feared by most strike craft pilots on the receiving end of an attack. The turrets are located: Two under the chin, one on the underside in the center of the craft, one on top of the cockpit and two topside in the middle of the craft. The crew of four sit in an armored cockpit located in the nose of the craft.

Typhoon-Class Heavy Bomber: The Typhoon-Class Heavy Bomber was created for a specific purpose in mind: To deliver a large load of ordnance to a target and to get the crew back to the carrier or Mothership alive. Due to the increasing amounts of armor and new types of composite material found on modern Frigates and Capital Ships, the plasma dischargers on the standard bomber of the Hiigaran forces began to lose their efficiency. While that type of craft is not slotted for complete replacement it has certainly taken a back seat to the Heavy Bomber. The Typhoon is heavily armored with the newest type, providing it with immense protective abilities. It also has a heavy armamnet. Under the chin cockpit is a Dual Light Kinetic Weapon Turret like that found on a Gunship. A second turret of similar type but containing only a single gun is located dorsally in a postion to cover all arcs of fire but the lower area, and a last single gun turret is situated on the underside of the ship and is meant to cover only the rear arcs. The Ventral bay can contain multiple ordnance loads depending on the target. It can hold: 1x Anti-Matter Torpedo, 4x Free Fall Anti-Matter Charges, 4x Orbital Mines, or a variety of electronics suites for patrol runs and planetary scanning. The three man crew sits increw compartment located in front of the weapon's bay. The pilots sits facing forward and also has control of the chin turret. The second crew member sits facing the front like the pilot, in a tandem configuration. This man controls mans the top turret and also is the flight navigator. The third crewman sits facing the rear and acts as the bombardier and the rear turret operator. The Typhoon Heavy Bomber flies in squadrons of three and counts as a Corvette vessel because of its size, crew, and weapons loadout. All of the armor and weapons comes at a price. Despite a trio of rather large engines, the Typhoon is quite slow but posesses stamina in excess of nearly every fighter in the Hiigaran fleet.

FRIGATES:

Guardian-Class Assault Frigate: Built to fill the role of an all-purpose fleet escort, the Guardian fills the hole nicely and even surpasses it to an extent. All of its weapons are arranged firing forward, denoting its offensive nature. Its main armament against other Frigates and larger vessels is a pair of heavy particle cannons similar to that on a Bomber, but much larger and more powerful. These are deadly to nearly any Frigate. Backing these up are four turrets, each containing a pair of Large Projectile Cannon that can easily track and eliminate corvettes and strike craft. Also using the afore mentioned micro-hyperspace module, the Guardian is the most common Frigate in the Hiigaran Navy because of its reliability and sheer flexibility.

Ravager-Class AA Frigate: Fighters have always been perhaps the most dangerous thing to a Frigate or Capital ship. The help eliminate this threat; multiple AA Frigates have been created over the years. The newest AA Frigate in the navies of the Hiigarans is the Ravager. Utilizing the old hull of the Flak Frigate from years past, techs have upgraded the fire control, armor, and engines to make it a formidable modern threat to strike craft. As opposed to two double turrets, the new Ravager has added a third to increase threat to fighters. One of the turrets is located ventrally, and the other two are located topside. This increased weapon load allows the Ravager to be a horror to fighter pilots, and still threaten other frigates to boot.

Conceit-Class Missile Frigate: Missiles have been a staple in the armories of space goers for ages. The Conceit was created to utilize the latest missile technology to destroy other Frigates and even bigger capital ships. While somewhat less common than the Assault Frigate, the Coneit has been known to take down carriers thanks to its formidable weapons array. Mounted topside and firing upward is a trio of missile tubes. These can fire missiles of different munitions dependent on the targets: fragmentation heads for strike craft, mine heads for creating fields of death, and fusion heads for use against Frigates and Capital ships. The downside to this system is it is not particularly useful against fighters. To augment this a pair of point defense turrets are located dorsally and ventrally.

Chronic-Class Ion Cannon Frigate: The Ion Cannon is the largest anti-capital ship weapon available to Frigates. A frigate mounting this weapon has been in the service of the Hiigarans for as long as anyone can remember. The Chronic uses the latest Ion Cannon as its main and only weapon. It is larger, more efficient, and much more dangerous than the previous variants making the Chronic something to be feared by Capital ships. However the sheer size and bulk of this weapon hinder the speed of the Frigate, and it is only useful against ships of the same or larger size.

CAPITAL SHIPS:

Eminent-Class Battle Cruiser: Perhaps the largest combat vessel ever fielded by the Hiigaran Navy, the Eminent-Class is very heavily armored and armed. Equipped with two dual Heavy Ion Cannon turrets, and four dual Heavy Burst Cannons Turrets, she is very dangerous to any vessel floating through space. However, her real main armament comes from the batteries of Torpedo tubes in her sides. There are eight total tubes. Three to the starboard and three to the port covers the side arcs and a pair fire forward. Such armament is quite devastating. These are massive weapon and can easily destroy a frigate in a single hit, and it takes but a few to drop anything bigger. Her largest threat is the fact she is so slow and she has no anti-strike force weapons.

Credence-Class Carrier: The aerospace carrier has been a staple of navies since its inception, and it has always been held in high esteem by the Hiigaran Naval Command. They are flying bases, able to produce any thing smaller than it’s self. The Credence-Class was created as the replacement for several less-than-perfect versions created in the last fifty years. Utilizing a powerful array of eight sub-space fusion engine for slower than light travel. Such propulsion provides it with speed approaching that of a Frigate. The four point-defense turrets of earlier Carrier has been improved to six, and the carrying capacity has increased from ten to fifteen squadrons of strike craft. A powerful sensors array is located on the prow, and there are several research modules as well as a full power hyperspace module on board. The Credence has proven an excellent vessel and is nearly irreplaceable in battlefield value.

Devourer-Class Destroyer: Sleek, deadly, and designed to take a beating, the Devourer-Class Destroyer is in every sense a heavy-hitter. Mounting an impressive armament of five dual Heavy Plasma Cannons and two Capital Ship-Class Torpedo tubes at the prow. Pretty much unchanged from earlier models, the Devourer adds another Plasma Cannon turret on the underside to improve weapons coverage of the lower arcs and rear of the craft. This version also adds a hyperspace module and improved sensors. Heavily armored and yet still speedy, this Destroyer is basically an upgrade of the one used against the Vaygr. Some say it is too old, but it ain't broke, then don't fix it.

Matron of Hiigara’ Mothership of the Hiigaran Navy: The ‘Matron of Hiigara’ is the seventeenth Mothership to be produced by the people of Hiigara since they built the first during the Homeworld War, many years past. Retaining the same shape and purpose of previous designs, the Matron is far more advanced than any other Mothership. Utilizing excellent armor and massive sub-light engines she is faster and more protected than any other in her class. Even so, she is still as maneuverable as a rock and as fast as a toad. Still, she is highly valuable for her sheer size and abilities. Inside her hull she can carry twenty-five full strength squadrons of Strike Craft or Corvettes, and she can produce any ship in the Hiigaran Navy, from the largest Battle Cruiser to the numerous resource gatherers. For defense she carries eighteen point defense turrets for attacking incoming Strike Craft but she relies on other vessels for her protection. She is a floating city, with a crew numbering in the hundreds of thousands.

OOC: Just a quick sign up. I want to get right into rping!

Name: Tanis Shal'je

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Rank: Ensign

Ship: Chaplain-Class Scout

Appearance: Tanis stands at five feet, seven inches, which is about the average height of the typical Hiigaran citizen. He is pretty well built and thick limbed at two hundred pounds, something that can make him uncomfortable in long fights. The Chaplain cockpit it a tad bit small for one of his bulk. His black hair is kept short, and he has matching beard.

Bio: Tanis was born on Hiigara to a pair of very proud parents. His father, Karn Shal'je, was a Frigate commander in the Navy and his mother was a well known and well respected technelogical researcher who helped to develop some of the newest tech for the Hiigaran Navy. Military service has been a staple in the Shal'je family since long before the Homeworld War, and nearly every male in the family line has served at one time or another, in nearly every capacity from turret operator to Carrier captain. As such, Karn expects a lot out of his son, somethign that Tanis keeps at the back of his mind when a the controls of his Chaplain. He has not in the military for very long, having enlisted in the Hiigaran Navy at the age of Eighteen and a half years old. Following six months of training he gradtuated top six percent of his class in regards to dog fighting skills. This is however hampered by a tendency to over step his orders and use his own initiative when engaging enemy fighters. This has earned him his call sign, 'Wildcard'. Such temdecies have also landed him his fighter and squadron, as Scout pilots often have to rely on their own decisions.

Name - Austin Sync
Age - 33
Rank - Ensign
Ship - Counselor-Class Bomber
Apperance - 5' 11" - Brown hair cut high and tight, sturdy frame, muscely. 5 o'clock shadow at noon.
Bio - Austin is from a military back ground. He is a lifer, he has had some bad luck with rank advancements, he does all the hard work and his superior's took all the praise and there the ones that get the promotions. Austin is not out spoken and believes every thing has a purpose and that must be the luck of the draw. He is a very good pilot and knows what he is doing and handels his self very well.
He joined the Bomber squadran for two reasons; first reason is that he knows that he has to protect the Homeworld and second to prove to him self that he can do a job and get awarded for it, because he is the only one flying the bomber and no one else is.

RP started, GOGOGOGOGOG

Name: Marzuq Emir
Age: 36
Gender: Male
Appearance: Stays inside the Core of the ship, a small round chamber. He is clean shaven and very, very pale.
Ship: Matron of Hiigara
Bio: -All Records Deleted- (Aka, I’m the GM, I don’t have to write one :P)

--------------

“Hyperspace exit confirmed. We have entered the outskirts of the system.”

Marzuq opened his eyes. In front of him was a round table projecting a hologram. That hologram was the immediate space surrounding the Mothership.

“Sensors are not picking anything up. It appears we are alone.”

Taping a series of key combinations, he began a thorough scan of the area. While scanning, he accessed the Hiigaran Battle net to get information on the area. Several seconds later, he received the history of the area.

It had at one point been a small moon-sized planet, but was destroyed in a cataclysmic explosion several years after the war with the Vaygr had ended. Several months after this, another planet in the sector was destroyed in a similar fashion. Amongst the remains of the of the planet, a research station was established on the largest piece of debris to discover the source of the explosion. Many years passed with no results, and the research project was scraped. Eventually, the Torabri Rebellion started, and the station was converted by the Hiigaran navy to act as a fortress. In the years after the war ended, the station was maintained as a peace keeping base, trying to keep the Torabri remnants from destroying themselves

As he received the last words of the report, he adjusted his attention to the scan. The source of the Beacon had been identified. Deep within the asteroid fields was the source. The peacekeeping station, The Harbingers’s Refuge, was transmitting an emergency beacon.

“Deploy the 12th Scout Squadron. Have them jump to the following coordinates to investigate the beacon further . . . .”

Ensign Tanis Shal'je was enjoying breakfast with his squadmates in the aftermath of the Hyperspace jump. Being a scout had its perks, as it was usually the Interceptor pilots on call and standing on full alert in case of attacks. He stepped up to the kitchen cook, who handed him a plate of food. After accepting it he went to the table his fellow men of the 12th Scout Squadron.

"I swear the food on this Mothership is just barely a step above that of a miner's gruel. They should feed us a little bit better. Less hungry I am, the harder I will fight to keep us flying." He said as he flopped into the bench and picked up a spork.

"Suppose it could be worse. Could be synthetic , which REALLY tastes like crap. I guess that is what we will be eating soon as out stores of fresh and preserved food stuffs run out...course that will not be for a while." Spoke Graftin, one of the other Scout pilots in the 12th Scouts, also known as the 'Mist Wovles'.

The Mist Wolves was a brand new unit, formed just before the emergency beacon went active that was drawing the Matron of Hiigara into space. What ever the new threat was, it was more dangerous than the Vaygr. Tanis' father had fought the Vaygr years before and had always spoken of them as great warriors. Tanis used his spork to spread a little butter over his over-toasted bread and under-cooked fried egg. Before he could get a mouthful down his throat, one of the Watch Captains entered the cafeteria with a clip board in his hand.

"12th Scouts! Report to your ready room, Squadron Commander to me!" He called out in a clear voice.

Tanis immediately stood, and began to issue orders.

"Mist Wovles, drop what your doing and ready up!" He commanded. The other four members all stood and saluted before rushing out of the cafeteria. Tanis walked over to the Watch Captain, who handed him the clipboard.

He began to read it as he walked towards the ready room. They were to investigate the emergency beacon originating from the Hiigaran outpost in this cluster of moons and asteroids. Threat probability: Moderate to high. Orders: commence with full spectrum scans of the area and report to Fleet Command with your findings. He set it down on the podium and suited up. In a moment he was ready, and walked back up to the podium. His squadron were standing at attention.

"At ease. Mist Wolves, we are ordered to commence with a thorough scan of the area and investigate the emergency beacon. Hyperspace coordinates are being downloaded into our Chaplains as we speak and they are being fueled and armed. Jock Strap (Callsign of course :D) you will handle the Dradis scans. Kitty Kat will take the IR and LIDAR sweeps. Graftin, you will procede with electromagnetic sensors. Also Graftin, get yourself a call sign. Dog Man and I will take the visual searches. Scans are to be completed within five minutes of exiting Hyperspace. Send them to my onboard computer and I will transmit them to Fleet Command. Fall out to your fighters."

In a few minutes Tanis was popping the canopy on his Chaplain and hooking up his fleet suit. He connected the oxygen generator to his sealed helmet and locked everal wires into his onboard computer to bring up the HUD on his helmet visor.

"This is the Docking Commander. All fighters of the 12th Scouts are fueld and ready for service. Docking clamps being released. Good hunting, Mist Wolves." Spoke an officer over the comm, letting him know it was time to go to work. The clamp holding the asymmetric Chaplain released and the powerful fusion engin of his fighter hummed as he reversed and turned, coming about to face the hangar door. He was the first of his squadron out, coming to a rest outside the Mothership. In a few moments the other four Chaplains exited the hangar.

"Mist Wolves move your asses! next time if you do not clear the hangar within thirty seconds of me you buy yourself some punishment." He nearly screamed into the comm.

Soon, the coordinates were locked in and the fove fighter squadron engaged their hyperspace drives, which rocketed them through a great blue portal and into a massive worm hole. The journey took but a few seconds, but they were nearly fifty light years from the Mothership. Made for good scouting abilities.

"Alright commence the scans. And keep your eyes open. There are a lot of places to hide in here and we can get ambushed real easy."

The place was not really much to look at. There was a binary star in the distance, but it was still close enough to through a warm blue wash over the entire area. Several large asteroids and small moons were about, and Tanis' sensors showed where the outpost was located.

"Uhh...sir I got some bad news." Piped Jock Strap over the comm.

"So do I sir." Came the word from Kitty Kat.

"Alright keep the comm free...some fighters can read it so use the onboard computer and send me the data." Tanis replied

Soon, the bad news came flooding on to his display. The Asteroid that the base had been located on had a sizeable portion of it blown into space. Tanis grimaced as he continued checking over the scans. Over half of the base had been destroyed, and the pieces of the asteroid had collided with others around to form a miniature asteroid belt. This was not good news...however there were no enemies in the area. Seemed safe enough for the Mothership to come in and examine the scene more thoroughly.

"Fleet Command, this is Mist Wolves Commander. Reporting outpost in the system as destroyed. Repeat, the outpost is almost completelt destroyed. Transmitting complete scans of area to you for analysis. Request permission to stay in the area and continue searches."

“Hyperspace sequence initiated. All stations prepare for a hyperspace jump.”

Marzuq stared through the screen at the front of his chamber. The blue field was gradually overtaking the ship. Eventually, his view was replaced by the white of Hyperspace. Several seconds later, he was greeted by the same view.

“Hyperspace jump complete. Launch Recourse Collector #7.”

Marzuq typed in a sequence of commands, laying an intercept course on the Automated RU Collector. He watched through the screen as a camera on the outside of the ship track the ship as it slowly locked onto the piece of debris that contained the station’s logs. Soon enough it had returned to the Mothership and the salvage crews began picking the remains of the station apart. Several minutes later they had finished their job, and the logs of the station were sent to Fleet Control.

Marzuq selected the latest date on his consol, and began playing back the recorded dialog.

“Sir, unidentified ships have entered the system. There are over 100 them!”

“Contact them, and ask for identification.”

Several seconds pass in the recording.

“Oh my god. They had identified themselves as Taiidan. .. They’re on an intercept course with the station! Shit! They’ve opened fire on one of the sentinels.”

“Battle stations! Launch the Sabers!”

“We won’t be able to take down that many-” The recording is interrupted by an explosion “They’ve opened fire on the station. Sabers are reporting that they can’t win. Sir, we’re done for.”

“Activate the distress beacon. Try to get a message off after that.”

“Negative sir, they’re jamming our-” The next words are also masked by another explosion.

“The enemy ships are ignoring the Sabers. They are focusing on the station!”

“Try to launch another-” The message ends.
Marzuq studied the Scout’s sensor readings. It appeared that there were hyperspace trails leading out of the system, back towards the core.

“12th Scout Squadron please returns to the Mothership . . . All stations prepare to enter hyperspace . . . Hyperspace sequence initiated.”

-----------

“As most of you are well aware, the distress beacon we investigated earlier came up with disturbing results. A well armed station was destroyed, with no way to tell who was responsible. However, sensors picked up Hyperspace trails leading out of the system, core ward. They appear to have been headed for the Ra'uf sector. We are going to follow them, find out who they are, and we will most likely exterminate them. We will exit hyperspace in 2 hours.”

-----------

Marzuq eyes skimmed the screen again, searching for information on the Ra'uf sector of space. Ra'uf was apparently an explorer, before the Homeworld War, who happened upon this Nebula. Unknowingly, he tried to fly his ship through one of its many bands. These have the same effect of an EMP, and his ship lost power. After many years of drifting through space, his ship was finally found by a Bentusi trade ship. In honor of the dead explorer, they named the sector after him.

Marzuq stopped his search when he heard the familiar sound of a Hyperspace window opening. Looking at his screen, he saw a beautiful and terrifying sight in front of him. Multicolored bands twisted through the area, making a complex design in the space around the Mothership. Changing his attention to the sensors array, Marzuq noticed a series of red blips rapidly approaching the Mothership. The closest ones were beginning to fire weapons.

“The Mothership is under attack. Launch all fighters to intercept the enemy.”

OOC: You are up against 3 squadrons of Taiidani Interceptors, each of them have 5 fighters.

Also, for further refrance, the Hiigarance are humans. In space. AKA, they eat, sleep, deficate, you name it.

"Move your asses or I will push you out the airlock!" Tanis yelled at his men as they ran out of their ready room and into the hangar bay to their waiting Chaplain fighters. They had been on red alert status when they exited hyperspace, and so were going to be one of the first squadrons to engage the incoming fighters. He didn't have any information on the attackers, and he really did not need any. Enemy craft were engaging the Mothership, that was all Tanis needed.

He slipped into the cockpit of his Chaplain and depressed the button that closed the canopy. With a hissing sound the canopy sealed and he was now under his own oxygen supply. The locked clamp released and he whirled around, blasting full speed out the hangar door and into the rainbow-colored space. Much faster than before, the other four pilots also got out of the mothership. The five fighter squadron formed a delta formation as they raced towards the attackers.

"Jock Strap, head count" He said into the comm as he flicked several switches and brought up the combat display.

"Wildcard, looks like fifteen total, all same class, im guessing some sort of interceptor. I do not recognize the design" Jock Strap answered.

"Alright, prepare to engage. Jock Strap, take Graftin's wing. Kitty Kat, you stick with Dog Man."

The five fighters broke into three groups and engaged the attacking craft. Tanis jerked the control stick down and to the right, narrowly dodging the leader of the first group who fired a burst of weapons fire nearly hitting Tanis' canopy. Pulling the stick upwards he came up and behind the first fighter, and with a 180 degree rotation he dived forward, quickly turning with the lead fighter to the right and upwards. Pulling the trigger, several bursts of fire echoed from the auto cannon mounted to the left of the cockpit, and red flames leapt out of the barrel following the titanium slugs. The leader of this group was not very skilled, or so it seemed to Tanis. The fire from his gun cut across the hull of the fighterm scorching black holes over its body and slamming into the engine , throwing bits of flaming fuel into space. The pilot ahead tried to evade him, but it was slower and far less manuverable than a Chaplain, and surrendered after a few more bursts from Tanis. It exploded into flame as Tanis broke off pursuit, a pair of the craft on his tale firing their weaponry trying to take out the nimble fighter.

"Fleet Command, we are the only squadron out here! We need back up NOW!" Tanis yelled into the comm.

"Alright you heard the lady, they need backup we give them backup, now let's move you sissys!" He quickly rose from the table and jogged to his locker where he quickly donned his flight suit, "We are wheels up in two minutes folks let's MOVE!"

In another minute and a half, Hawkins and the other four pilots under his command were in their Saber's and shooting out of the hangar.

"Assume Claw formation" Hawkins ordered calmly, "We have got roughly 15 targets, we focus on one at a time, let the other sqaudrons take out the others, no need to get in over our heads"

As he finished 5 red blips appeared on his radar at his two o'clock. He saw the Taiidan ships and immediately began firing upon them, his squadron did so with exact precision. The enemy quickly responded with a somewhat awkward evasive maneuver.

"Assume aggressive tactics, let's take them out as fast as possible" Hawkins ordered and the squad broke up and went after individual targets. The Taiidan ships responded by doing the same, Hawkins merely chuckled as he veered into a dive and and began to fire on the six of one of the Taiidan fighters. It narrowly dodged the rounds, Hawkins pulled harder on the trigger and pressed up on the throttle causing him to neerly run into the enemy craft. The rounds from his gun were now shredding into the crafts engine causing it to flare and spiral out of control. Hawkins pulled up as the enemy ship exploded into space dust, and began searching for a new target. He quickly met up with a ship firing on him on his 12 oclock heading straight towards him. He quickly rolled around the ship as it passed him and hit the reverse and port thrusters sending him spinning around to face the enemy craft that was still struggling to turn about. He fired the cannon on his ship while accelerating towards the enemy craft, it didnt stand a chance as the rounds peirced into the cockpit killing the pilot instantly.

"Alright gimme a count!" he shouted as he turned towards his squad.

"We took out 3 of them" a calm voice said over his comm. Hawkins quickly veered back into the battle to take out mroe of the enemy crafts.

A blaze of cannon fire blasted less than an inch away from the cockpit canopy as Tanis made very, VERY minor adjustments in his direction, pitch, and yaw. Such moves were frowned upon by his commanders during training, but Tanis did it anyway. He was steadily putting ground between him and his two pursuers, something he had counted on when beginning this particular manuver. Fifteen more meteres before he would do it...there he thought as they passed the required distance measure.

Cutting the thrust from his main engines, Tanis engaged the attitude motors located underneath the nose of his craft. A solid second and a half of fire from these thrusters threw the nose of his Chaplain high into the air and around to face the oncoming fighters. Firing a second burst to keep him steady, he punched the after burner and zoomed ahead, bringing his auto cannon to bear. The manuver suprised them and bought Tanis the seconds he needed to align the sights. Firing a short, controlled burst, his rounds broke into the canopy and killed the pilot of the first fighter, but such action brought the second to his senses as he veered off course and tried to out run and out maunver Tanis and his Chaplain, not an intelligent thing to do. Tanis executed the same manuver again, this time firing his side thruster to make an almsot ninety degree turn and bringing him on the tail of the fighter.

Using his greater speed Tanis closed the distance between them quickly. Firing another burst from his auto cannon Tanis managed to cut across the enemy fighter's turn and fill the side of his fighter full of holes.Tanis must have hit something important, because his engines cut out and he lost all control of his fighter.

"Fleet command I got an enemy fighter dead in the water, without control but with life support. Soon as the battle is over get a heavier craft to tractor him in for a full interroga--" Tanis cursed as enemy fire cut into his craft.

Despite the great speed of the Chaplain, Tanis had been hit from one of the Interceptors. Punching the control club downwards, he managed to avoid further damage. However he ha dsustained some serious systems failure. The bursts of fire had pierced his upper hull and port side, blowing through the fighter completely and exiting the other side.

"Fleet Command this is Wildcard. I have sustained damage to my attitude thrusters, sensors arrays, emergeny ejection system AND backup system. Jock Strap, head count."

"Wildcard, I got one squadron of enemies destroyed or disabled, minimum. Sabers sqyadrons from the Matron have engaged the aggressors." Jock Strap responded.

"Mist Wolves, continue engagement of the enemy fighters. As much as it pains me to say, I am disengaging. I have sustained too much damage to be effective. Jock Strap, the squadron is yours for now. Fleet Command this si Wildcard, I am coming in. Have repair crews waiting."

"Roger that!" Hawkins belted. As he did he puled up and dodged inches over an enemy fighter. He swiftly pulled an immelman and pulled the trigger, firing volleys of titanium rounds through space. A few rounds slammed into the enemy craft's hull as it veered off in a feudal attempt to escape Hawkins' wrath.

"That's right you son of a bitch!" he whispered feircely as he fired another slavo, this time the bullets found their mark and the craft spiraled out of control into the dark void of space.

"Hawkins, we just took out another fighter, that leaves two more" he heard a voice over the comm. Just as the message ended Hawkins felt his interceptor rock, he looked at the radar and saw a red blip on his six. He cut the engines and hit the reverse thrusters, the enemy fighter slipped over his interceptor, Hawkins hit the throttle and fired several bursts at the enemy ship. It barrel rolled around the shots, Hawkins smiled and pushed his ship to maximum speed. The enemy ship seemed like it had diverted all of its power to its engines because it sped up signifigantly faster.

"This should be fun" Hawkins said slyly as he diverted some power to his engines so he could speed up. He got close to the fleeing ship and fired, it dodged wildly but spun out of control, Hawkins took the opportunity and fired into the ship causing it to explode.

"We got the other ship sir, good work" Hawkins smiled as he turned his interceptor back towards the Mothership docking bay.

(OOC: Doesn't abyone here know of Newtonian Flight Physics? You guys are making this so hard!)
--------------------------------------------------
The bay of the Matron of Hiigara spit fighter after fighter held with its bays. With flashing lights, several squadrons came screaming toward the 15 fighter formation of space superiority fighters. In seconds canon fire erupted from both groups and the ships exploded or detonated in fiery light....

One particular pilot growled aggresively in the cockpit of his lethal machine. His eyes darted and sized up his opponents. Noted formation, and the incoming attacks headed by allied squadrons. His eyes shining he began to bark orders...

"All right! A-Moon, H-scap, split off and flank 'em. See if we can't shake em up a bit. Go at full speed, don't want Chaplians outdoing us! We're the fighter corps for Sajuuk's sake. Once we are in short-range slow down and take your time. Prepare to break formation on my count!"

As the two groups slammed into engagement, and chunk split off and charged the latest Hiigarans. They adjusted their movements and selected thier targets...

"1!"

The Hiigarans did not seem to be smart, moving foward continously.

"2!"

Most of the Taiidani pilots laughed about the easy kills they were about to make...

"3!"

The Hiigaran flight leader's eyes glinted dangerously.

"BREAK!"

Instantly, the Hiigaran fighters broke in every direction, before adjusting their aim at shocked enemies as they rocketed on the same vectors they had achieved earlier.

Laris Sobani smashed his joystick down. His fighter snapped downward before he pulled back on the stick without engaging his foward manuevering thrusters. Rainbows of color filled his vision for several seconds till the artist shifted his art into the underbelly of the Sobani's enemy. Uterring a gurgling cry, he jammed down on the firing stud. Replying instantly, the triple cannons mounted to the right of the cockpit roared to life and bright tracers sprang with all speed toward the belly of the beast, following the trail set by the digital markers that jittered on the Sobani's HUD. The thin metals that molded the structure of the predator gave minute resistance to the projectiles that punched through with heavy thunks. Round after round ripped through the fighter till they ruptured the fuel tanks. Instantly the resulting explosion touched off the munitions stored for the twin guns, and the space-farer ripped itself apart in the insueing blast.

Laris Sobani pressed down hard on the thrusters, rocketing his hunter into the weavers bright threads as they twisted and manueverd around each other, before one linked another with a load of colors. Some stopped their stories with a continuing of foward momentum, but still others ended in a brilliant flash of light. They would become their own suns, complete with orbitting vessels untill its power died. On some cases, the life held within the vessels would burst from his caccoon, barely holding onto the life support systems that kept him from dieing of asphysiation in the airless void of impressed canvas.

Screaming obsenities, the Sobani squadron leader distracted one of his prey by shooting past its gunsights. It baited it for the subordinate that hung up above, and when the Taiidan pilot attempted to chase after its Hiigaran counterpart, three bursts of code emitted from one Hiigaran to the one above, and the leader writhed before he changed direction toward his ally. Too cuaght up with lining up his guns, the Taiidan didn't notice the other fighter till his counterpart angled downward. As he twisted to follow he caught a glimpse of its death as he revealed his underbelly. In seconds a throaty roar reverbrated through the mainframe of the awaiting killer, and it blew through the following explosion of its own hand.

With a groan, the wild flight leader realised that the DRADIS was completely clean.

Reluctantly, the adrenaline pumped man keyed in his com, "All right, head count and form up on me."

"Sir..."

"Yes, A-moon?"

"We lost Deathless."

Silence ensued over the comlines of the squadron.

The adrenaline that was once pouring through him turned to ice, and he managed to choke out ,"Let the spirits of Kharak bless him. He was a good man."

Grimacing, he knew he had to report a loss over the universal line, and he uttered his message before bowing his head. None of the other squadrons seemed to have lost one, which was expected with thier carefull tactics...Compared to his reckless head on aussult that probably gave that pilot problems with getting help from another squadmate...
"Ah shit"
