View Full Version : Really odd problem...

I don't know if this should really go in the Tech Annex, but I was wondering if other WC players had had this problem.

I've recently been trying to play WCIII:TFT, but whenever I start the program, it refuses to believe that my disc is in the disc drive. The thing is, the disc isn't scratched (it's been in it's case for a while) and I can still access everything else on the disc. I've also tried reinstalling. It's only worked a few times so far, once or twice before I patched the game and only once ,after much perseverance, post-patching. Does anyone have a clue what's going on there? I'd rather not have to buy another copy of the disc :concern:

That's weird.

The only solution I have is to try running the game of your RoC disk. I barely used the TFT disk so I don't recall any problems, but using the RoC disk is a start.

@ Monty: Ok, but I want to play the TFT campaign :/ Will it work on the RoC disc?

@ice: I don't have another PC that can run it :P

Lol, I know, but that's not how I like to do things. If I get desperate, I'll try that.

Well, DoW (which is much more intensive on the PC) runs fine. I've been able to run RA2 and Renegade as well, so I don't think any other games will have problems. I could try SC too, but I doubt there'd be any real correlation between the two.

The TFT campaigns should run on a RoC disk, but I haven't actually tried. Can't see why not, though. Everything else does!

They do work, that's for sure. ;) After installing TFT and running TFT from the RoC CD when it's the one inside the drive, you'll be able to play it with no problems at all. I'll explain it better: After RoC starts it loads the "war3.exe" and the TFT kicks in. Same goes for the vice-versa process, though.
