I was hoping Modred's Battle for Osiron might pick up again, but I think we have lost, irrepairably, one of the lances, so alas -- we must start anew.
Here, in the introduction, I'm going to give a short history of the Clans, because surprisingly few people really know what is going on with them, and then I'll take a moment to describe the scenario for this RP. I'm going to assume that most people who are interested have at least a vague idea of Battletech history (ie: Star League, Succession Wars, Clan Invasion, etc.), if you don't just PM me and I'll be happy to enlighten you.
The Clans are of two opinions regarding the invasion. The Crusaders believe that the Inner Sphere should be completely overtaken, and forced to accept a new Star League, and that the denizens of the Inner Sphere are too immature to do this on their own. The Wardens believe that the Inner Sphere should be protected, even from itself from time to time, until they mature on their own, and create the Star League of their own volition.
Clan Jade Falcon is Crusader -- they have an intense desire to reclaim the whole of the Inner Sphere, and reform it to the Clan way of life.
Clan Wolf is mostly Warden -- they believe in defending and protecting the Inner Sphere until it matures.
As an insult, the Clan Wolf Khan (leader of the Clan) was selected as the IlKhan (leader of the invasion), but he was killed during a kamikaze three months into the invasion. This caused a one year halt as the Khans all retreated back to the Clan homeworld to select a new IlKhan (as tradition dictated).
During that year of rest, a second Star League was, in fact, formed. The new Clan Wolf Khan was, again, selected to be IlKhan, and not long after the invasion was restarted, the leader of Comstar (the religious group who have a monopoly on the HPG communication arrays that allow Interplanetary communication) came to the IlKhan and offered a duel. Comstar forces and Clan forces would clash on the planet of Tukyyad, and if the Clans won, Comstar would give them Terra. If they lost, they had to stop the invasion for 15 years.
Long story short, they lost -- but Clan Jade Falcon felt that Clan Wolf had betrayed Clan principles by making a deal with IS forces, and initiated a Trial of Refusal. Clan Wolf used this as an excuse to fully invade Jade Falcon space, and after a few months of terrible battle, Jade Falcon emerged victorious.
Clan Wolf Khan died during the Refusal War, and his two lieutenants both took extremely brash actions. Phelan Ward took over half of Clan Wolf forces into the Inner Sphere, and into wilfull exile (Wolves-in-Exile) to defend the Inner Sphere from the next invasion.
Clan Wolves-in-Exile claimed Arc-Royal as their new home, and have spent the last ten years setting up what is known as the Arc-Royal Defense Corridor, preparing IS defenses along the Clan Jade Falcon border for when the invasion recommences.
After the plan with Clan Wolf is brought to light in the Inner Sphere, Comstar splinters into two groups, Comstar, who believe that what has been done in the past is fine, and Word of Blake, who feel that those now in power are corrupt, and have betrayed the original faith as laid out by Jerome Blake back during the Star League era.
The Word of Blake left for the Periphery (the outer rim of planets), they built their strength, then launched the "Jihad" against the Inner Sphere, culminating in them resting control of Terra and its surrounding planets away from Comstar.
Okay, now for the story.
Desert's Fangs is my (personal) Wolves-in-Exile mercenary unit that I play with at home. They are a mercenary unit, but they are all Wolves-in-Exile clansmen, and perform contracts solely for the Wolves-in-Exile, helping prepare and defend planets along the JF border.
Their first mission was to save Phalen Ward's freebirth son (if you don't know what Freebirth is, I'll explain it later) who had been kidnapped by a Word of Blake fringe group, demanding that Wolves-in-Exile give up control of the Arc-Royal Defense Corridor to Word of Blake forces.
After he was successfully saved, Word of Blake began to assault factories up and down the Defense Corridor, and Desert's Fangs was sent to defend Graus (I will provide star maps tomorrow). It is now three months after Desert's Fangs was contracted to protect the two factories located on Graus, and they are finishing up fending off a WoB attack upon a factory just South of the capital city, a distress signal is broadcast from the city itself.
Their defenses are being overrun by a Clan Jade Falcon assault team.
Okay, there are four distinct forces present in this RP -- Clan Wolves-in-Exile, the Desert's Fangs, Clan Jade Falcon, and Word of Blake. My plan is to have one "sub" GM for each force, and anyone who wants to join can decide which force they want to play with.
Do not ask to be a commander -- I will PM you if I want you to do so.
Desert's Fangs: Veeger
Clan Wolves-in-Exile: Gordomay
Clan Jade Falcon: Ragnarox
Word of Blake: [Pending Response]
Again, anyone who wishes to join can do so and choose any force they wish -- all I ask is that we try to keep things even. If Clan Jade Falcon has 6 players, and Word of Blake only has 2, I would rather have the next person to join to help Word of Blake out. If the number of players are relatively even (within 2 away from one another), then pick any. If you're not sure, just PM me, I'll tell you where I feel you could best be used.
LOL -- Tanis pointed out my lack of character sheet.

'Mech: For your 'Mechs, I am going to be a prick, and require you to select only Classic Battletech Canonized Battlemech specifications. For a full list, click here (http://solaris7.com/Armory/ArmoryList.asp?A=TRO). Clan Jade Falcon is limited to Clan technology 'Mechs (TRO 3050 and later), WoB is restricted to Inner Sphere technology 'Mechs.
Wolves-in-Exile is in an interesting situation, being isolated from the Clan Occupation Zones, and still not fully trusted by everyone in the Inner Sphere, they have a limited selection of 'Mechs from both technologies. If you want to be in the Wolves-in-Exile, you will have to PM me, as I will have a pre-selected number of 'Mechs available.
If you wish to be in the Desert's Fangs, PM me first as well. They have a limited number of slots.
