Armageddon is a Hive World in the Imperium, and has bore the brunt of two major invasions in the past decades. First by Chaos warriors, and second by the Orks under the command of Warlord Ghazghkull Thrak (http://www.warboards.org/wiki/Ghazghkull_Thraka). The Imperium of Man was victorious in both wars, but they are unprepared for what is to come. The Orks are returning to the ash wastes of Armageddon with only one thing in mind. Drive the human forces off the planet and take it for themselves. Orks have already struck, drawing first blood against the Imperial Guard defenders of the Hive cities. Once more, veterans of the past wars and new recruits alike have risen to face the Orks and drive them from their planet a second time. The veteran Steel Legion of Armageddon has swollen in numbers, and their battle experience against the Orks will be invaluable in the weeks to come. Ork warbands are pillaging acorss Armageddon Prime and Armageddon Secundus, preparing their artillery and other weapons for assaulting the Hive cities.
------------------------------
Ork Forces

The forces of Gazgrim are the Orks who are leading the attack on Armageddon Prime are numerous indeed. In total there are over three hundred warbands of the foul green skins on that part of the continent. This approximates to almost nine hundred thousand warriors intent on nothing but the extermination of the humans.

The horde attacking Armageddon Prime are even more numerous. In total there are over five hundred warbands under the command of Ghazghkull
Mag Uruk Thraka himself. This amounts to over a million Ork soldiers assaulting this part of the continent.

Under the leadership of Urgok the Unstoppable, one hundred and sixteen Ork bands have made landing in the Fire Wastes to secure the northen area of Armageddon. This is about three hundred thousand Orks total.

And in the southern area of Armageddon, three hundred and twenty one Ork bands are following the orders of the over-Fiend of Octarius Gorsnik Magash to secure the Dead Lands. This is around nine hundred thousand Orks.

Total Ork Forces: Approx. Three Million, two hundred thousand.
------------------------------
Imperium Forces
Many hundreds of thousands of Imperial Guardsmen have committed themselves to driving the alien Orks off their home planet. Men from Cadia, Catachan, Elysia, and other planets have also been brought in to try and match the huge number of Orks that are assaulting their planet. All together, two hundred and thirty seven regiments, seventeen battalions, four brigades, five companies, and four Legions of Imperial Guard are stationed on Armageddon.
The legendary Space Marines have also committed many of their number to the battle. One hundred thirty four of Space Marine companies from twenty four Chapters have arrived to help bolster the defenses against the Xeno threat.
Numerous other forces are stationed on planet, from Techpriests of the Adeptus Mechanicus to Battle Sisters of the Adeptus Sororitas

Total Forces: Aprox. One million, four hundred thirty seven thousand Imperial Guardsmen, Space Marines, Adeptus Mechanicus and Adeptus Sororitas
-----------------
Objectives
Currently Ork forces are assaulting the Hive City of Volcanus on Armageddon Prime. The characters can play as an Imperium or Ork character, but nothing other than was listed above. So no Tau, no Eldar or Dark Eldar, and no Chaos. The city is enduring a huge siege. Many men are starting to die of starvation as almost no supplies are able to get through. The objective of the Imperium characters is to break out of the siege and attempt to retake the Hive city of Tempestora. The objective of the Ork forces is, obviously, to prevent these things from taking place and to take Volcanus.
-------------------
Situation
The siege is currently in a state of trench warfare around Volcanus. The Imperial trenches are well constructed and maintained by the Death Korps of Krieg, a unit of highly skilled siege warfare specialists. The primary defense trench surrounds the entire Hive city and has a zig-zag pattern to make it harder to hit the Guardsmen. Fifteen yards inward is a secondary defense trench. This is higher so the men in this trench can fire over the heads of the soldiers in the prime trench. Every fifteen yards yards in the prime trench and every twenty five yards in the secondary trench are concrete firing pits containing two heavy weapons: Heavy Bolters, Lascannons, or Mortars are most common. Behind the secondary trench are a series of earthen works providing camoflouge and defense for the artillery pieces. The Ork trenches are far less well developed or manned. Their trenches are hastily dug and barely defensible, but their sheer numbers are over whelming. They also possess artillery of their own.

Cool, another 40K RP. YourGodDoesntLiveHere is MIA or something...so ill join this RP

Name: Jonathan Waer
Faction: Imperial Guard
Unit: 2nd Krieg Armoured
Description: The Death Korps of Krieg is well known for its use of dark, gloomy colors and skull motifs on the uniforms of its members. As a member of this unit, Jon wears a dark brown overcoat that extends to jsut above the floor, with black belts and accents. His helmet is a similar brown to the overcoat with the same black accents. He has black hair and brown eyes, with lightly tanned skin, however these features can only be seen off the battlefields of Armageddon as the atmosphere is toxic and all men must wear breathing masks.
Rank: Lieutenant
Equipment: As a lieutenant in the 2nd Krieg Armoured regiment, Jon is the commanding officer of an armoured vehicle. In his case it is an Imperial Bombard artillery piece. This is a large bore, short barreled howitzer used for assaulting fortress or in proplonged bombardment. Because of the short barrel his artillery piece is stationed closer to the front line, as opposed to a farther back with the Basilisk pieces. He carries a bolt pistol in a shoulder holster and a short, serrated fighting sword for close quarters combat.

Alright, got sone sign ups. Kong is in but wont be able to post till the 11th, so we have four total including myself. When we get more sign ups I'll start the RP. In case some are wondering, ill answer it straight off. The question is "How do we break the siege of Volcanus?"(Imperial chars) or "How do we take Volcanus?"(Ork chars). Answer: The characters are going to have to figure something out themselves. It must be within reason, mind you. By the way my character is going to be the acting commander of Imperial forces. If someone wants to be the commander of the Orks, just PM me about it.

Here is my character sheet.

NAME: Marrus Balurius
RANK: Space Marine Chaplain
FACTION: Imperial Forces

He has a long scar running across his face from the top of his left eye to the bottom of his left, cutting across his nose. He received this scar in combat with a Chaos Space Marines. Also, his left eye required some reconstruction after said wound and so it is cybernetic. As a Black Templar his armor is black and his shoulderpads are white. His helmet, in the fashion of the Chaplain, is the image of a skull.
EQUIPMENT: As a Chaplain he carries the Crozius Arcanum, with an image of a winged skull. With its energy field, he can use this as a very effective close quarters weapon. He carries a plasma pistol for ranged battles.

Hauptmann, is it okay if the Mortificators are set up as a sort of relief force? I mean to say that the Chapter arrives in their fleet with supplies for the ground troops?

Snot

You may as well be on the ground dude. The Fleet that arrives wipes out the Ork fleets and obliterates the ground forces due to the Black Templar High Marshall tactics... so when It gets here, they thing will be over, all there will be is a mop up job.

How about this deal, I'll play the Ork entity for you until you find someone willing to play specific characters?

Krazee'z meeb's middul neym. :D
Seriously though, what do you mean by 'crazy', and what reason have I given you to expect such of me?

Hauptmann

You have not given me any reason for anything. You are pretty new here so I was just offering a bit of advice. Use your own discretion when controlling your masses. Figure your own way to take out us weaklin humies. No planetary bombardments, use what you've got. Ya obviously have massive amounts of Ork Boyz, some batteries of Big Gunz, and vehicles and such.

I would like to say something. Can you PLEASE stop making two threads for your RP's? It clutters things up more, makes everyone work more, annoys me, and is unneeded (I really haven't seen one of your RP's last long enough to warrant a Sign-up thread, no offense intended)
