Yay, a new tux map. There really isn't too much to this map, so I won't even bother locking it, but it's kinda fun nonetheless. In a nutshell, you have to build barriers to protect a city from an oncoming flood of
*dramatic pause*...
Reaver scarabs! You have to protect the city for the set time limit from suffering too much damage (the score tells you how much "disaster budget" you have left, as in fire fighters). If you lose your dyke builders, or the city's budget runs out, you lose.
Enjoy! (http://www.sublimitsoftware.com/tuxedotemplar/sources/portfolio/starcraft/alternates/Flash%20Flood.zip)

Another defence map?In a sense, yeah. Unlike normal defense maps though, the premise is to stop the oncoming threat by finding the best way to passively absorb or channel it.
So I'm just curious, because of my lack of ability to interperet generic praises like "good job" or "nice map": how would you rate it specifically? I'm curious because I'm starting now to try and find a formula for what people enjoy the most, instead of randomly dinking around with whacko ideas, and it seems the only system I have to go by is trial and error based on public opinion or popularity in general.

OK, I really like the scarabs as flood waters, good Idea (but then again, scarabs are my favorite unit) also, I like the semi-stacked buildings that made modern looking buildings. That part was really cool. I just played it by myself, seeing as how no one can join bnet games I create anyway. I think that the "dikes" should of been buildable a bit faster then normal, seeing as how you start out with only one dike builder. I think you should of mentioned the disaster budget a bit more in the mission briefings, I completely forgot about that and lost because of my forgetting.
P.S. I didnt really mean to be that vague before, I just didnt have time.

It's ok. Thx for the feedback. Anyway a couple things I noticed:
Time limit is too long (people get bored)
Scarab flows/scv spawns need to adjust to diff player amounts.
Sewers need to not spawn FRICKEN HALF the scarabs that are produced. :p Maybe like 1/4 or 1/3, at most.
Bug with building armories for either P3 or P4, I forget.
Stacking?
Anything else?

I just played it, before I go to school.
I can't say that it is all that fun, it needs something later in the game to spice things up. I only played it one player and got raped. Mabey you could ajust the difficulty according to the number of players? Also mabey put a few more defencive options in? Like a water pump that gets rid of some of the scarabs?
Meh. Mabey it will grow on me.

I'll try it out as soon as I get home from school. It looks pretty good.
