Iam in a bit of a pickle... I dont know what iam doing wrong but unless i have a nr20 or something siomilar at the start of a online game i have no hope of even making a even halfd decent stand. Now i play with terren (which most of you will say is my problem staright away ;) ) and iam just finding it very hard tostay in the game against P and Z, mind you this only lasts up until i get a rythem goiing then iam very hard to beat but getting to that stage is the hard part.
so what iam tring to say is can anyone give me any hints on how to build faster and more effectivly so if i get a early ling or zelot rush cuz they really piss me off. and yes iam a bit of a n00b i only just found my old starcraft disk again.

So u need help on b.net games? It ez. All u gotta do is:
#1: Build lots of defenses. You'll need em when building troops to attack with.
#2:Get lots of minerals + gas, and expand fast. Once you have a secure 2nd base, it gets easier.
#3: When you have enough minerals, focus on building:
Protoss: Dragoons and Archons. Perhaps some Zealots to take up the damage.
Terran: Marines, Tanks, Medics and Firebats. Research Siege Mode Tech.
Zerg: Hydralisks, Lurkers, Zerglings to take up the damage, Mutalisks and some Guardians.
#4: When you have enough troops, try to get a 3rd base and attack one of ur opponents smaller bases. Don't focus on the main one yet.
#5: As soon as the smaller base is destroyed, if it has resources worth taking, build a small base there. Also, start refreshing your army with new troops.
#6: Now focus on building:
Protoss: Scouts, Corsairs, Carriers and 2 or 3 Arbiters. Also dark templars (awesome stealth unit :) )
Terran: Wraiths, Valkaries, Dropships to transport ur ground units, Sci Vessels (2 or 3) and BattleCriusers.
Zerg: Ultralisks, 1 or 2 Defilers to Dark Swarm ur units and Plague enemy, Scourges, Devourers and Infested Terrans if you have an Infested Command Center.
Refresh whatever troops you lost in the previous battle.
Obliterate all remaining bases with the army that you have. Kinda complicated to some people, but it's a really good technique.

Hardly. You've oversimplified it far too much.
It also tends to get you dead as soon as you face someone halfway competent.
Milamber, visit sites like www.pgtour.net, www.gosugamers.net, and www.wgtour.com and look at the replays there for the matchups you're having trouble with. Try and emulate what you see; you'll be able to develop your own style after gaining a somewhat-mastery of the basic concepts.
Important things are: expanding, scouting, and countering. The how is the tricky part.

lol. milimber, do you play money or non-money maps? cause scouting is really key on non-money maps. you should always scout around 9-10 population, and try to keep the scouting thing alive as long a possible. this way, you can figure out their tech and you can then counter it.
edit: also never mass only 1 type of unit
