The matchups
Number one vs Number two (Proz vs Nedech)
Number three vs Number four (Cole vs Dc) [Winner=Cole]
Number five vs Number six (Ice vs Dev)
Number seven vs Number eight (Wisp vs grog)
Number nine vs number ten (Bred vs lancer)


Map Pool: Two Rivers, Terenas stand, Turtle Rock, Echo isles, Twisted Meadows. ( Five maps for three games, first map is agreed upon by the two contestants, if they cannot reach a agreement then the first map is automatically defaulted to twisted meadows.)

Game types: Best 2/3 solo. The person to win two out of the three games will advance to the next round.

Date: Games begin today June 26th and ill close the first round by june 30th. (Unless a player has a valid reason to extend the deadline)

Hosting Information: Games will be played either on GG client or bnet. Please note that if the games are played on bnet then both players must have the same amount of delay or lag. If two players need a host for their game, then i will be available for the most part unless my dsl acts up.

It wouldn't be all that bad if Bnet wouldn't random me with the worst possible races it could give me. Though the HU vs UD wasn't as bad as I had originally planned it to be, but it still wasn't all that great to watch none the less. The UD vs Orc one was just horrible. :/

I also heavily dislike the Orc v. UD matchup...UD doesn't have much chance in terms of dealing with any of Orc groudpounders. The only time that the UD has a good matchup going is when the Orc picks BM first--then they can build ghouls without fear of having their entire team annihilated for 4-click 225 mana.

Base design seems to be the key factor to me in OvU, IMO. If UD leaves room for Orc to get to Acolytes, that's it. I like seeing dual crypt mass ghouls to gargs and frosties, which seems to be much better than the fiend build for this match-up. That being said, I don't really play UD so I might be overlooking something there. Anyways, the reason for my post.

I'm sorry to see Nedech go, because I wanted to play him. At any rate, I suppose I'll be playing RR upon his return to his tea party in Britain. While I hate to see Nedech go, I'm ready for this match-up. It should be fun.

UD vs orc is all about the DK/lich ghoul fiend with rods. Really underrated combo and wayy good vs orc if used right.

I can't see using Fiends against Orc giving you any real benefit. I think your strength would be in your numbers, and the only instance a Fiend would come in handy early on would be to Web Wyverns. At least with an overabundance of ghouls you can get some surrounds on Orc Heroes and units, in effect forcing a TP. There is, of course, the troublesome Orc AoE shit, but I don't see Fiends doing much for you here.

Fiends have really good DPS for a range unit and you NEED fiends because if you just go ghoul hell go wyv and rape you. If you try to get a few gargs then bats will just gg you. With good positioning ghoul/fiend is extremely good. Strength in numbers doesnt always apply when AOEs involved. Adding necs and/or stats can be good too. Just going ghouls wont get you anywhere mid game, not to mention theres no way youll be able to stop t2 expo.

Good point. I dunno, perhaps I'm overestimating the potency of Statues healing and the availability of Fiends at Tier 2 to Web Wyverns. You don't think you need ghouls at all against Orc? There is, afterall, a target cap to Chain Lightning, and low level Wave doesn't do fantastic damage. I'll have to learn UD now to test this shit. Theorycraft. Nuff said.

Nono, im saying at T1 ghouls can still be really useful vs orc. But there are other gay ud vs orc strats that are extremely hard to counter..Cl/dk fiend/stat/banshee and or nec. So gay tt.
