So my brother got a Video iPod, and he asked me to put some videos/music on to test. And thus begins my adventure

I cant figure out how to add videos- I try clicking and dragging from my folder to iTunes, I try adding the file, I try the little import button, to no avail
I deem that iTunes wont add them because they arent legitimate (yes, yes, I know) or they have to somehow be transcoded to the crappy "anti-piracy" format that can be bypassed by any person who has an IQ over 60 but just makes life harder. Because of this, I look for alternatives online
I find "ephpod" and try to set it up, only to find that when I start it the ipod is not detected as a device (even though iTunes can detect it and I can transfer music that I had on a different iPod to the new ipod), so that program was scrapped quickly
I look to the WinAmp plugin for iPods, only to find that there is no "devices" setting in the MEdia library for me to click on the ipod and transfer things with after playing it for an hour (and missing part of my brother's party. It is his birthday, afterall, and I was being nice and setting it up for him right away (I know the feeling you get when you get something new and you want it to work as soon as possible))I am now completely confused and frustrated, any help without flaming would be nice. Flames against frustration results in more frustration >.<

EDIT
--------------
I am an idiot.

ALWAYS READ THE MANUAL.

I hate iPods.

Windows wont recognize it as a device if you dont install the ipod via the CD. It now recognizes the iPod, there is your solution, you can now close this thread. Cheers.
