I've been doing this on a solo smurf, and in the two games I did it (am currently 5-0) I absolutely thrashed my opponents with added ownsauce. Anyway, I like it, and so here's the build order I'm using and general strategy, just because you didn't ask.
VVolf's Fast Rifle Build (Taken from WCR)
This is the fastest build for straight rifles (bypassing foots) that's around.
5 peasants to gold, queue 2 to wood.
Take 1 from gold and START (not fully build, just start) an Altar, then START a Farm, and put the peasant on wood.
Continue to queue wood peasants as gold allows.
When you get 100 wood, take a peasant from wood and BUILD a Blacksmith, queueing him to GOLD when he finishes, so you will have 5 peasants on gold.
At 60 wood, take a peasant from wood and BUILD a Barracks, continuing to queue peasants to wood (you should have 13 food in Peasants when you finish producing them).
At 20 wood, take 3 peasants from wood, (which should leave you with no peasants on wood if you're doing the build order correctly,) one of which FINISHES the Altar, another FINISHES the Farm, and the third BUILDS another Farm. By now, you should have 5 peasants simultaneously building structures and 4 on wood.
By the time your Barracks finishes you should have enough to train a Rifleman, send him to a nearby Tavern and hire a hero of your choice, or wait for your Altar to finish and train a generic Human hero (although this leads to a very late hero so I don't like doing it).
After a while, you should have enough to build another Farm and train another Rifleman, and after that, continue to build Farms, an Arcane Tower, pump more Riflemen, add in a Mill and Vault when you feel it is necessary and I like to tech at around 27-30 food.
When you hire a Tavern hero, if done perfectly, your opponent's hero will have been out for about 15-20 seconds, and you will have a hero, 2 Riflemen, 8 peasants on wood and 5 on gold.
Against Orc, I prefer to go Beastmaster first and go Quilbeast first, investing my remaining skill points as I see fit (in other words, to counter my opponents army), then get a good 6 or 7 Rifles, hire a Firelord at Tier 2 and push their base. Normally my BM will be at Level 3 by this time if I can creep unchecked.
Against Undead, I go DR first to powercreep and get a good wall of Skeletons to distract the Undead player from the Rifles, going Panda second against Ghouls and Naga against Fiends with an early Tier 2 push. Against both races I go dual Sanctum at Tier 2 and just mass Rifle/Caster.
I haven't got any replays of myself against similar standard/better players yet, and I'm on holiday from 3.30am GMT (yes, my plane leaves at 6.10am) tomorrow so probably won't be able to get any until I return. If I do, I'll add them to this thread. Anyway, discuss!
