View Full Version : Corrupted starcraft map.. HELP!!!

lately i have been working on a map...i havnt done any triggers or locations.. i was working on the terrain with starforge yesterday.. and wen i got back from school today it says my starcraft map is corrupted or invalid i tried to open it up in other editors but nothing works... wtf is up with this... can anyone help me???
Is there a way to get the terrain back... right now thats all i really want

Edit: the editors say its corrupted... i cant even open it up in the game

hmm... interesting form of corruption. With me, it always works fine in map editors until i play it in sc... then my game either crashes or frezzes the entire computer...hopefully crashes sc.

Either way, i dont think theres a way to "fix" corrupted maps.

I have had that problem using SF. I think it has somehting to do with the format it saves in (.scx or .scm), if the wrong one is selected it will not open. Try extracting the chk file or something?

Then again I could be completley wrong

Ah, StarForge... I never use that for fear it will corrupt my maps... use... ARGH I CAN'T REMEMBER THE NAME OF THAT THINGY THAT LETS YOU PUT SQUARE TERRAIN!

ISOM Editor? SCM Draft?

Thats why you should always back up your maps!

ISOM! That's the one! Although it really places rectangular tiles...

I already tried extracting it with WinMPQ but all that does is closes down wenever i try to open it... o ya and doom dragon i cant even upload the file in an attachment i tried it with another map and it worked rite away this one just says uploading files please wait then goes to a 'cannot find sever' page... o well i will just try again with Starforge.. yes starforge but this time i will make like 3 backups
