Somebody googled a term that was found in that thread, and it's just a google bot checking out the page. Don't worry about it. I THINK that's what it is, at least.

Are you saying that Google Spiders are spying on us?
Like Shades?
Or NSA!
Google Spiders index websites frequently to display current search results for their patrons.

How do you think Google has results when you do Searches? Their spiders do this to every site online :)

Google will own the world, just give them time.

They seem continue their spying.
Perhaps Itīs good so that you can find different threads.
But still..
They vex me greatly.
I suppose Its okay so long as they donīt go through our email or PMs.

They couldn't get into your PMs and E-mails without proper idetification, i.e., your password.
Google has your passwords, your drivers license number, your social security number, your credit card numbers, and your mothers maiden name. They also have the name of your first unborn child. Accept google as your savior and all shall be good.
Praise google.

Once GMail is up (google email service), they'll be able to get into your email too. So there.

You'll note a large number of Google spiders on our site as well, due to our AdSense ads at the bottom of each page. They have to index our site so they can provide accurate content. ;)

I usually see around 8 google spiders at any given time.

I think they just show up as "guests." But then how do you know it's a spider and not a real person?

Nope, it shows up as a google spider.

You can see this by going down to the bottom and click on where it says currently active users. Then go to the last page and a google spider should be there somewhere on that list.

Google Spiders all come from the same set of IP's/domain. If you know the sets/domain they use, you can label them as such.

Perhaps we should start a Anti-Spy-Google-Resistance, and prevent from reading our private stuff.
And construct some Warboards Spider Guardians.

Yeah but the spiders are good, they put us in the search engine so people come to the site.
Hey Exedore (or anybody) if we can identify Google spiders why don't we identify spiders from other search engines as well. Then we can really know how many real people are reading the forums..

Altavista spiders and Yahoo! spiders also exist. And it doesn't intrude on us, Fratt, if you wanted privacy you shouldn't post here because. :P
