I just read the review on Anandtech and the Conroes look amazing. One model performs on par with the FX-62, but is a lot cheaper. I'd definately reccomend Intel over AMD for a new comp.

I'm waiting for AMD's 4x4 platform before I pass judgement.

It's also nice to see that NetBurst is dead in most of it's entirety.

Im starting to regret I got a 4200....i should have waited for this.
I guess Intel > AMD now.

I don't know what anyone is surprised. I mean its going to go back and forth I assume for awhile now.

Still though, I can't see justifying 1000 on a processor for any reason.

Besides, I still think AMD + nVidia makes for the best computer :o Heh

Though I am planning to build an Intel box from one of those 805 processor dealy bobbers. (Apparently they actually come close to the Conroes benchmarks, obviously not passing them I think, but still).

The absolute high end extreme processor is always over a grand, but the majority of the Conroe processors are in the $150 to $300 range.
