Recently I have this problem that my computer doesn't boot up.
I press the power button, turn on the computer I can hear the normal sound from the computer fan is running, there suppose to be a "beep" sound and the ram start to load and boot up the computer, apparently that doesn't happen,
and the computer just stuck there, even the monitor doesn;t turn on, because the computer didn;t load or boot up at all.
some time that can be solve it by press the reset button for a few time, other time I have to force turn off the computer by holding the power button for 5 second, and turn back on later.
anyone know what happen to my computer? can this be fix?

There are many things that can cause boot problems, and from personal experience they are fixable 9 times out of 10 -- IF you know how to recognize the problem and fix it. Once my computer would power off about 10 seconds after I turned it on, and I discovered it was as simple as a tiny piece of plastic jammed on the power switch resulting in it being held down during startup, powering the computer off each time. Another time using Last Known Good fixed an almost deadly "Windows is loading" lockup. Once, I fixed it simply by un-plugging and plugging in my computer again (while it was already off).
You might try booting into safe mode, if you can, then running simple diagnostics such as scandisk and disk cleanup, as well as anti-virus scans. Also, while you're there, click Start >> Run >> and type in "msconfig" and go to the startup tab -- remove anything you don't want starting up every time you turn on your computer.
Also, when you press the power button, does anything appear on the screen? Or is it completely blank for at least 2 minutes?
if it doesn't boot, the monitor standby light will remain on, but the monitor is blank because the computer didn't go pass the boot process and is off for the whole time until it boot successful after that "beep" sound at the begining of the start up.
I hope is like what you said that might just be some kind of dust that is blocking the button or what so ever, but is still not quite sure what exactly cause the problem.
this error appear more frequently than the first time happen, is just a matter of time that it will completely dead and not boot up the computer anymore.

What video card do you have installed? As strange as it sounds, I had a similar problem once and I finally concluded that the problem was with the video card and I swapped my old ATI 9800 All In Wonder Pro for an almost equal powered nVidia GeForce 6600 GT OC and since then I've booted flawlessly.
You might try un-plugging then plugging in the monitor from the back of the computer while the computer is off - that's usually a blue rectangular cable. That seemed to let me boot the computer once (sometimes). If you've done general system maintenance as well as windowsupdate and run my two personal favorites: SpySweeper and EasyCleaner, then as a last resort you could update or re-install your video card drivers and see if that helps (but there's a chance it might make things worse).
But it's still possible that this isn't even related to your video card at all, so start with general system maintenance and removing startup programs you don't need. Also uninstall any extra software you have on your computer just to help clean it out a bit.
just to say thank you for the help.
the problem is solve now, I guess, seem alright now.
I spoken to many computer pro about this problem, none of them could figue out what cause the problem.
because I didn't install a virus program, I went to the Trend online virus scan for a try.
it found my computer was full of virus and spyware.
I didn't know it actually infect on my computer, Im so caution in download and run file but it still does now.
after clean up, my computer is able to boot up again, hopfully that's what cause my computer not booting up, as far as now it seems alright. Jesx I didn't know virus have the abillity to stop the computer to boot up.

Viruses can do almost anything to your computer, making it not boot is the smaller of your worries. Not having some kind of filter on your internet access or scanner is about the worst thing you can do, get some immediatly.
Zone Alarm Free Edition
AVG free edition
google them.

re-seat videocard or any other cards you have in the computer, and check to see if the ram is also in tight. creep is death!

hehe, seems like not booting up would be the worst of your worries, aside from loss of important data, seeing as you can longer use the computer at all :). anyway glad to hear you got it working again, wa123!

Ive had this question for quite a while now - I've been using computers for about 7 years straight now, everyday. And I've only gotten a virus once or twice , when my friend on purpose gave me a keylogged program.
How is it that you people tend to get these viruses even with like 10 firewalls and virus programs like once a week? I don't use a virus program nor a firewall - and my computer is fine.
I thought the same before, but not until you scan your computer will a virus scanner, you can never say your computer is so fine.
try the following link and scan it, they fix my computer.

Ty for the link, but I just re-formatted my comp because I was really desperate to use my sound card, so the scan results came out clean. : /
