Every once in a while my computer wont let me on Warboards. This lasts from an hour to a day and a half.
Why?
Last I checked, you were banned. Maybe that got something to do with it... But I'll sit on my corner n' wait for someone with more knowledge on the issue altogether to answer (as in, far better than me).

Probably server troubles... that, or you have a bad connection.
But what do I know? I'm just a radar technician.

You're unbanned now, so that can't be it. It's probably like kongurous suggested -- server problems or bad connection.
If it persists you could try to PM AJ (http://www.warboards.org/private.php?do=newpm&u=2).

The problems are probably on your end. Aside from the outage we had a few weeks ago, I haven't had any problems with WB. Note that even if you're banned you can still access the forums, view posts, and even use the PM system. You just can't post.
If your getting "warboards.org not found" but when you refresh it works just fine, then thats an indication that you have a problem with your connection.

I cant get it even with refreshing...
:(
I actually have a similar problem, except mine can last entire days too.
I think it may well be down to my connection to the WB server, since it is rarely a problem with any other sites.

I've been having these problems too. I've tried using proxies, but even they aren't able to connect. I noticed that these problems have been mostly happening in the early part of the day.
wb.org dns is a bit flaky, it seems to break once in a while. if you can connect to elsewhere. eg. google but no wb, its a dns problem.
If you add:
66.98.190.90 www.warboards.org
66.98.190.90 warboards.org
To the file located here:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
The files is "hosts" with no extension.
Open it with Wordpad, save it with no extension.
This can fix most connection problems.

What exactly does it do though? I don't want to mess up my computer.
It adds the WB's IP adress inot your allowed hosts file on your OS and from that point onwards it's access to this site will be a lot easier (as in, a flick of a switch). ;)
hosts file is a manual override to DNS. only windows update bypasses it.
you can't break your machine by adding or removing things from it, you at most cripple your internet habits.

I knew that, I just didn't want to make my computer more vulnerable to hackers.
In any case, I've done what Neo advised. Now lets see if this actually works...

*Ugh* Inx nay on the Caps. Please. :P
And btw, did ya do what was told here? To add this site's IP onto your hosts file, that is? I can even throw a wager that ya didn't. :smirk:

Uhh, yeah, maybe if you tried a little harder and followed the explicit DIRECTIONS that neo gave, you wouldnt need to be a "program wiz" to solve your problem...
If you've added our site to your hosts file and are still experiencing these problems, then let us know, otherwise I suggest you take the suggested solution -- we're working on resolving the DNS issues.

Which part are you up to. In the last directory, you have to enable "all files" to be able to see the file.

Use either search or windows explorer. Search should be on the right hand panel, when you click start.

Yea that happens to me too, i thought at first it was just the stupid dell search thing, but i typed warboards at google and it kept saying warboards was not found
then you know how it says "did you mean ....."
did you mean Warboards.org and when i clicked that it still wouldnt work.
I suggest you figure out what is wrong with your connection.
And find something else to do. Like...a life or another hobby or something.
