View Full Version : Thanks for the 'Thank you'!
When someone says "Thanks!" to you, would you reply with:
No problem (np)
You're welcome
or just not reply?
And why?

preferably i would tailor the message to the occasion and let them know I am sincere. but it depends on the circumstances. it's rude not to say anything though and I always kick myself when that happens.

Depends on the situation really. Sometimes the right thing to say after they say "thank you" is another "thank you"!
O.o
But doesn't that cancel the first thank you, and enters you both into an endless loop?

I usually say "No Problem", unless it really was a problem. Then I say, "Thank You".

I say 'yep' or something like that.
"You're welcome" is kind of absurd and doesn't make sense to use as a reply to a 'thank you'.
Saying thanks back makes me sound like I give a shit, which I likely don't.
I really only say anything to show aknowledgement that I heard their thanks.

I usually say "any time." But, of course, that depends upon the situation.

Most of the time I use "no worries". Certain occassions call for "any time", and others "that's okey".
Does this knowledge enable you to become a better person? :P

Actually, I don't reply, but just smile. (Not evilly or insincerily, fyi)
Ok then. Thanks for the replies everyone!
/me hides in the corner and starts giggling manically, assuming "giggling manically" is a possible function, and in case it isn't, I am a potato.
