I am looking for a wide screen LCD monitor.
Mainly because the monitor that I currently have is 3 years old, is only 17", and (im guessing) 12ms.

If anyone could help me choose one from this website:

I am planning to use my monitor for gaming, wathcing movies, surfing websites. So basicly, everything.
I am not that interested in the view angles, or the thing that lets to turn your monitor around.
I prefer under 400$.

Thanks.

When buying a widescreen monitor, keep in mind that you should check to see that the games you plan to play support widescreen mode otherwise the image might be stretched out a bit. Most modern games do support widescreen mode, so you only have to worry about older games.

Some video card drivers (NVIDIA at least) have an option to not stretch the aspect ratio.

Do you guys think its worth getting a 200-400$ wide screen monitor?

If there's nothing wrong with your current monitor I'm not sure I'd upgrade unless I got some sort of special deal.

Don't get a "cheap big" monitor though.

If theres a 19" for 220 and a 17" for 260, I would go for the 260 one -- that is, I would rather get a GOOD LCD then just a cheap/big one.

Otherwise, I don't see anything wrong with it. From my experience (albiet little with widescreens) it can be a little odd at first, adjusting toa widescreen monitor, but its not to big of a deal. I imagine widescreen DVDs / Videos look pretty damned nice on one to.

I've heard basically every game has patches to make the game look normal instead of stretched on widescreen monitors. I would definately get one if I were you. I wish I would have gotten one, but they were still so much money when I got my new computer.

Benq generally makes great LCDs, and this one looks pretty good.

Also take a look at the Dell 2007FPW, which might be a better LCD to get.
