Hello ladies and gents, tis kongurous once more. You may be wondering what this thread is about. Well, its about everything and nothing.

As I said here, cigarette in hand, staring at this screen, wondering why the fuck I'm awake at 5:10 AM, I begin to remember my original intentions. You see, when I first started seriously posting here, I wanted one thing: for people to know who I was. I wanted everyone to, when they saw kongurous, to think, "hey, I know who he is". By now, I think I've achieved this for the most part.

After that, I figured hey, highest post count. This I have also accomplished. Quite easily, too. After this achievement, if you could call it such, I was stuck. What else could I do to make myself known? Become a moderator hit my mind.

Afterwards, I began reporting posts I thought violated the rules instead of replying ot them, and generally attempting to follow the rules. Somehow, however, I failed and then came to realization that I had less of a chance of becoming a moderator than Ole has a chance of coming back, and then just stopped altogether.

Now, here I am, typing this post and talking in circles. I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you notice a drop in my post quality, its because I just don't give a damn anymore. Go ahead, delete every one of my posts. It wouldn't irk me in the least.

Kong, you could also just stay to have fun, or...entertain people with your witty remarks. I don't have a bloody clue why I post on WB's, but I have a feeling it has something to do with the people that post along side me. If everyone here was a douche bag, I'd hate it. Just don't leave, because everyone knows you, there's also gonna be loads more people that'll miss you.

You don't just post a drunken thread, and you're in?!

Kong, man, come on now. You shouldn't be trying to think at 5:10 in the morning. You shouldn't even be up at 5:10 in the morning! That's when I'm eating breakfast and heading to work each morning. I think we all feel like we know you well enough by now to know that you shouldn't be worried about whether or not we know you. That's not something I see you worried about.

I'm impressed that you are able to set goals for yourself like that - I had no idea. Not many people are able to so clearly define their objectives and focus their efforts in a productive way.

I also never said I thought that. However, it does say those who follow the rules and set an example will be rewarded for this, and I'd rather not turn this into a thread about my thoughts on the staff. You have no idea how much it annoyed me to see other people who either had not set that example or hadn't even been active getting promoted around me and I got nothing for what I felt was deserving of at least a thank you or someone noticing the improvement. Whatever, I don't care anymore.

I'm impressed that you are able to set goals for yourself like that - I had no idea. Not many people are able to so clearly define their objectives and focus their efforts in a productive way.

Oh yeah? Well, I'm out of goals now. No particular obligation holding me here. Or anywhere on the internet, really.

What are you, five?

oMG i wanted t0 be m0dd! n u din pick me! noone patted me on teh back for how much I've improved! pay attention to me! look, im dancing now! someone look at meeee!11!

I felt torn when I saw this thread. On one hand, I felt replying to it would do it a favour it did not deserve, and prolong its life. On the other, the extreme inanity could not be ignored. Why did you create this thread? To tell us "you didn't care anymore"? Or because you wanted to be the centre of attention again, and thought you could achieve that by typing out a couple of lines of nonsense about your 'goals': Gain attention and get a high post count (basically the same as of any generic spammer, nothing special to see here.) followed by whining because you didnt make it into the staff even though you...*gasp* reported posts! How could the staff ignore you after such selfless service and sacrifice?

Boo hoo. You're not a mod and you're not the centre of attention anymore. Grow up and move on.

This coming from the person who spends more time spamming and getting 7k+ posts, then trying to become a mod, then crying about his failure than I do 'trolling'.

This thread was begging for punishment, as are you everytime you make one of your inane, sophomoric posts calling yourself 'spam king'.

Mtank's absolutely right. This is really pathetic, Kong. Seriously.

You're argumentative, spammish, and you annoy a lot of people sometimes. In my opinion, that's not what a good staff member's about. I'll just stop right there.

How about a big "fuck you" to Mtank for following people around and ruining their days. Another one to BI, and everyone else who gets caught up on the staff issue because they can't seem to get the impression THAT I NO LONGER CARE FOR THE STAFF.

Why is it that everywhere I seem to post now, someone has to come by and argue with me? Is it so hard to just... ignore something you don't like or find fault with? Is it really so important to argue with someone over the internet? Why me? WHY HAS FATE CONSPIRED TO FUCK ME OVER LIKE A CHEAP LAS VEGAS HOOKER?

Honestly, what have I done to you to piss you off so much? Someone, anyone, answer all of those questions.

If you really wanted to be on staff, you should've done more than than report posts, and try to get known. Being helpful would be a good start, and setting a good example would have been good as well. Look at the staff, and then look at their post counts. A lot of them aren't even half of what you have, and that's a clear indicator that post count doesn't really matter -- to follow the old adage it's post quality, not post count.

You get banned often, not just for amusement, but because you spam / flame / troll sometimes. You get into flames as well, when a good mod would step back and take shit. Think about it, you made this thread and I told you my opinion, as did Mtank. You replied to Mtank with a big "FUCK YOU", and a PM telling me to leave you alone.

Oh yeah? Well, I'm out of goals now. No particular obligation holding me here. Or anywhere on the internet, really.
Do you really need some sort of obligation to keep you doing something? Most of the time I just show up here to kill time, or if I find something I enjoy (such as diplo or RPing) I'll show up to do that. It's not like I have some set objective for my time here at WB, or anywhere else on the internet. I don't particularly see what you'd need one.

Kong, I will say this.

I remember when you (randomly, I might add) called Nuts and I out for spamming in an IR topic, even though technically we were referring to each other's posts so what we were saying wasn't completely off topic -- but that's another issue. At one point, someone referred to you as the Spam King (was it me? I don't remember, but someone said it), and you cried out at not wanting to be held accountable for your past actions.

Being a Christian, I am the first person to forgive someone for pissing me off, or saying something I don't like, and I try to treat the perpetrator as if nothing had happened. But, having said that, every action you perform, every word you say, and every post you type on this forum, molds your personality in the minds of everyone around you. Your character is reflected in how you act, and what you say/type. If someone flames in at least one post of every topic he/she posts in, it does not matter that in real life this individual is a soft-hearted lamb. He/she will still be considered a flamer on this forum, and will be treated as such.

Had you always acted in what would be considered a "proper" manner, you wouldn't have been 'overlooked' and I guarantee you would have received a little thanks for your attempts. I've personally only been here for six months now, and I've received two thank you PMs from staff members already. Because I try not to be a spamtastic flamer. Of course it happens, but again, your post quality reflect your character to us because that is all we ever see of you.

It will take more than a few weeks of "good deeds" to change the way we view you. A complete change of character takes longer than an overnight reading of the Qu'ran. A good analogy one of my minister friends likes to use in his sunday school class is, "when you go to sleep on a boat, and wake up to realize you have steered off course by 30 miles, when you turn the helm around, it is going to take as long to get back on course as it took to get where you are now."

The point is, you can't expect us to view you differently because you have been a model forum member for three days. It takes more than that.

You obviously haven't known me for very long.

That, or you haven't taken the time to review my posts (which is understandable, considering the vast majority go against the image I wish to portray. Normally, that wouldn't be a problem... but its hard to change a 7,500 post history without deleting a few thousand).

Truthfully kong, I hadn't noticed a change in your posting pattern until you mentioned it to me via PM. It's had to break a perception, it takes a good long while.

In all seriousness, if you really aim to be a mod, I would suggest going to IR and posting some serious commentary, or perhaps helping out in the technology annex, or even helping some newbs in the craft sections.

Of course, now you have this thread to overcome, so...... maybe you should come back with a new screen name? :concern:

Kong, I have no bias towards you. Like I said, I haven't even been here for a full year yet. I haven't had the time to really get to know anyone.

From what I've seen of you, and your posts, you seem to be a good guy who just likes to have fun. Sometimes at the expense of others, but that isn't something to be ashamed of. We've all done that, even PC I would be willing to wager (blasphemy!).

I meant the above post as more like something to think about. It wasn't intended to accuse you of being one way, or another. I think we can all agree that no person in the world can truly be pinned down to one particular posting style.

Except for maybe Kings Crab: who excells at being an ass. *thumbs up, King!*

Go back to my first post. I don't particularly care about having a teal name anymore... from what I've seen from other former mods, its too much work for too little recognition (which is true), so meh. Besides, I honestly suck at debate and am probably too much of a fence sitter.

Lmao. That DEagle comment actually had me laughing.

kongurous (or however you spell that):

First off, I've thought for a long time now that you would make a good moderator. Perhaps better then most would give you credit for. Because unlike other staff members, I actually took the time to realize that you've been on staff at other sites before. And while it seems others have a hard time realizing this, Warboards is not the sole community on the net.

As such, I was hopeful when you mentioned that you were going to change your posting habits, away from the spammish variety to helpful... responsible... whatever. But then I realize that might've been a mistake. While I believe that you are intelligent, I just can't get over how much I miss some of your seemingly inane posts.

I still think you would make a good moderator -- for the Member's Lounge if nothing else.

Even after this thread of yours, I am still interested in seeing you become staff here.

To BI: Kong hasn't been banned for a very, very long time. You comments regarding said bans are cheap shots, and not worthy of you. Besides, your not on staff anymore =P

Kong perhaps you ought to take a break for awhile, as much as I would miss your posts/comments and irc chatting, it seems like your hitting a lull in activity, its no longer fun for you, more like a chore.

Meh. We definetely need some new blood around here :P
