Just an observation. So long as it does not affect a member's perception of my age, experience or maturity, my means of expression is not worth mentioning. However, this is the second time in six years someone has made any real comment about my "emote" usage. It should not even bother me, but it just strikes me as odd since:

1. This is not a serious discussion, so I am not displaying an effort to be taken too seriously.
2. So long as they do not detract from the impact of a post, emotes and smilies are just "spice" if used appropriately.
3. "Smiley whore" is an extreme label seeing as how using "TT" and "XP" is much less hateful than:
A. Using the same smiley repeatedly in an exaggerated manner such as: :):):):):)
B. Using any smiley I think might be "appropriate". Such as using :lame: to express that I am unimpressed with a remark.
4. The first person to tell me that did not affect me. I just did not use the smilies around him and it was no longer an issue.

In conclusion, duly noted and filed under "I" for Ignore.

Shinigami got his name off of Duo Maxwell in MS Gundam Wing.
I, being equally geeky at the time and having no knowledge of 'gami's existence on BlizzForums, chose Shinitenshi because I was more comfortable with "angel" than "god". It sounds less ego-inflated as well. >>

Sphere was a spammer and proud of it with around 5k posts. I'm competitive, so I took him on. I answered as many questions as I could and posted in topics I knew about or at least had an opninion in. The only spamming I ever did and still do is comebacks, which I made a number of involving Sphere at the time. :P
